Partisan Chris Bowen goes too far in praise of Wayne Swan

In The Australian today

It may be symptomatic of that “instinctive distaste for the past” that historian Keith Hancock thought characterised Australians that there is no official history of the Treasury. Chris Bowen’s The Money Men doesn’t claim to fill that gap, but it does provide vivid and insightful portraits of some of our more prominent treasurers.

Boy Wonder’s success can be attributed to standing on the shoulders of intellectual giants like Goose Swansteen. Like a true Labor hero Wayne set Australia on its current path – unconstrained government spending, deficits as far as the eye can see and hundreds of billions in debt.

  2. Shy Ted says:

Exactly how can anyone praise Wayne Swan?

Amazing that in the comments (no longer available) some people were doing just that. Must have been Wayne Swan’s personal sock puppets.
