We need an “Australian based, conservative leaning commentary on politics,” to explain all this….

US Election: What values do we share with Donald Trump’s America?

Don’t worry, we’ll be moving closer to Donald Trump’s America, seems like the people have got a sniff of the blood of corrupt, lying, cheating and incompetent politicians and they want more!

  3. rickw says:

    2) Tony Abbott will be back, Cory Bernardi will be the Deputy PM

Not so sure, I don’t think he has enough Trump qualities.

  4. A Lurker says:

I’m looking forward to my walk past my local hipster coffee shop that has had signs mocking Trump on and off for the past year.

Father Rod Bower of Gosford Anglican church will be having conniptions.

    George Christensen for VP ?

  6. Leigh Lowe says:

Mr Rusty, it’s far from a sea of red out there. I predict the ASX will go gangbusters today.

    Dow Jones up 70.
    ASX SPI200 up 160.
    10:01 is payday!

  7. Tel says:

Even if Trump does nothing, the Fed will raise rates by 3% in the New Year.

3%? Are you out of your mind. It would destroy the economy at these current growth levels.

If Yellen spikes the rates early next year after sitting near zero for the entire Obama Presidency it would be a blatant shot across the bow of President Trump. Pretty much an open partisan declaration of civil war.

I really doubt she would do that. More likely she will do a tiny quarter percent raise in December and that’s about all she’s likely to do.

  8. Tel says:

Do you think those Trump hats are going to become collector’s items and slowly increase in value?

  9. deplorable goatjam says:

Tony Abbott is not Donald Trump

  10. Leigh Lowe says:

I see upthread that TrumpisGod gets to appoint three SCOTUS judges.
    Scalia replacement plus two retirements?
    Is that it?
    If so, that is massive.

Hold on to them if you got them they take up zero place. Most people are throwing things out out, forward thinking ones, or their children make money out of these artifacts.

  12. Ant says:

So looking forward to going in to work today. Oh, the long faces….

So are my kids who were tracking the results as they unfolded while at school and were texting me wondering about their friends running around in various states of shock (including the “the world’s going to end” kind).

  13. There are many kind and generous peace offerings to the left today.

These people, the left, have destroyed lives real and metaphorically. They have enslaved people and would have consigned hundreds of millions of more people to slavery.

Like the German civilians who, after the war, were forced to clean up the human remains from Nazi extermination camps, the left must be forced to clean up their mess and, per force, face up to the cost of their degraded and degrading ideology they almost imposed on all of us.

Only when the weight of their crimes becomes too much to bear, only when they beg for forgiveness should we extend the hand of friendship.

This is not a game. This is a grim business.

  14. Mark A says:

Tony Abbott is not Donald Trump

How right you are. He is not even his bootstraps and to think I had such high hopes for him!
No wonder he is the pin up boy of A Bolt same wimpy turn the other cheek wishy-washy thinking.
    Pathetic.

Newcastle Herald sent a journo off to the local coffee shops to find some Americans.

Donald Trump win stuns US expats in the Hunter

The incomprehension is thick enough to make into a mud cake, and the Trump piñata is fun. 😀

Well, look who is not accepting the election outcome

    The Left are so predictable.

Yes predictable and Trump is about to receive the Abbott treatment from a perfidious media. If he thought the campaign trail was rough, he ain’t seen nothing yet.

    Simple.

Folk finally got sick of lying cheating corrupt selfish politicians.

  18. Wozzup says:

Trumps victory speech was truly Presidential. He sounded modest, thankful and once again emphasized that this is not about him, it’s about those who voted for him. I especially liked his tribute to those Hillary would regard as the “little people” the Secret Service and Police who protected them. Hillary on the other hand is known to despise them and by credible reports out of the Secret Service mistreated them at every opportunity if she felt like it.
Trump was also conciliatory towards Clinton. But while I understand why he was so, it does alarm me if this presages a softening of attitude towards Clinton’s crimes and misdemeanors. If he let’s her off Scot – free he runs the risk of being seen as becoming like them and breaking faith with his supporters who want to see her brought to justice. Its not about revenge, it is about the credibility of the justice system. While Hillary is still too rich and powerful to ever see the inside of prison I for one would appreciate seeing her at least have to spend a large part of that personal fortune, so illegally made, on expensive lawyers and the rest of her life in legal wrangles. That at least would reassure me there is some justice in the world for those who believe the rules do not apply to them. She is a walking, talking Greek tragedy who know knows her lifes work is in tatters. But you know what, it’s her problem and she deserves it.

I am lovin’ the meltdown on facebooktubething today …Oh glorious day and and exciting time to be a deplorable redneck . my faith in people has been restored . The left sobs into it’s weetbix this morning ..
I channeled a bit of tailgunner last night and got involved in a debate with 2 ( good looking) young lefties at the bar last night , they were devastated and proceeded to re tell me all the leftie anti Trump points , of which I handled them all , I even got them to agree with me that nuclear power was the only green way to go .. brought them some drinks and we argued through till closing time , we shook hands tanked each other for the debate and I left , smiling in the knowledge they had finally met some one who liked Trump and who was not a bad ,not stupid individual ..
    Go Trump .

  25. Arnost;

Gotta understand Kraut mentality… the guilt complex. They have the baggage of the Holocaust to carry – hence they can not be seen as being racist again. And why Mama Merkel bent over an took it… and onsequently buggered up the whole of Western Europe as well.

I’d concede that point as well, Arnost. We’ve not let the German people forget that atrocity, and I add, nor should we. But there does come a time when we have to let the dead past bury its dead, because this guilt complex is buggering Europe.
I do not expect anyone – especially the Israelis – to forget.

All I want from Trump is:

15% company tax rate or close to.

Immigration controls enforced. Wall not necessary.

    Conservative SCOTUS.

    Obamacare defunded.

He does that he will be the greatest President since Coolidge. Anything else and he might be God.

    Can’t stop agreeing.

    Run for office IT.

  27. Anyone who claimed the GOP had to open the borders to appeal to ethnic voters. Please never comment on this stuff again. You’re just not qualified.

The first people I spoke to that supported Trump?

Italians. “They need a businessman who knows how to run things”. I can say as an absolute fact that the biggest opposition to refugees are former migrants, bar none.

  28. smiling in the knowledge they had finally met some one who liked Trump and who was not a bad ,not stupid individual ..

Talk about low info voters. My fellow employees’ knowledge of the issues is so shallow, having learnt everything they know from Sunrise.

  29. Makka says:

Pollsters running for cover and covering their tracks. Spinning like mad, it was because they were mislead and the hidden voters blah blah.

Their complete and utter failure had nothing to do with the extreme skew and bias they built into their models and polling processes as they worked tirelessly to get HRC elected. The stinking incestuous media have pollsters backs of course.
