    Ryan ditched Trump after pussygate.

Trump against the odds wins Ryan’s home state of Wisconsin.

    Oops.

    A very fair comment Zulu!

Dear me, leftists and “civil” Libertarians sure do love themselves a lot of child rape.

Today we publish extracts from an NCCL [National Council for Civil Liberties] report written for the Criminal Law Revision Committee in 1976 when [former Labour Health Secretary] Mrs Hewitt was general secretary.

It says: ““Childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in, with an adult result in no identifiable damage.

“The Criminal Law Commission should be prepared to accept the evidence from follow-up research on child ‘victims’ which show there is little subsequent effect after a child has been ‘molested’.

Things like this are why I’m not going to write the whole Pizzagate thing off until the Trumperor stands in the Oval office flanked by Putin and Orban and officially declares the matter over ( with hundreds of well known “personalities” and politicians and their lickspittles swinging from lampposts throughout the western world).

  4. JC

Why didn’t Ryan stand in the Presidential primaries? No ticker?

He guessed he couldn’t win and stayed out. Nothing to do with ticker at all and house speaker is nothing to sniff at either.

  5. Fisky

Knock it off, Ryan is on the free market wing of the GOP

Ryan does not support free markets. He has never worked outside government in his life and has no idea what free markets are. His only substantive policy ideas are failed “minority enterprise zones” rubbish that turned into tax scams, and of course he LOVED Bush’s stupid pumping up of the housing bubble.

Nothing he does ever works. He always fails.

  6. Fisky

Ryan is a complete loser. Couldn’t deliver Wisconsin for Romney, but Trump won Wisconsin against Ryan’s opposition.

All ideas advocated by Ryan should be dismissed without discussion.

  7. JC

Stix, you left out the highlighted part.

EVIDENCE has emerged that the views of the Paedophile Information Exchange influenced policy-making at the National Council for Civil Liberties when it was run by former Labour Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt.

  8. Oh come on

Here is the transcript of the relevant part of the debate:

WALLACE: Mr. Trump, I want to ask you about one last question in this topic. You have been warning at rallies recently that this election is rigged and that Hillary Clinton is in the process of trying to steal it from you.

Your running mate, Governor Pence, pledged on Sunday that he and you — his words — “will absolutely accept the result of this election.” Today your daughter, Ivanka, said the same thing. I want to ask you here on the stage tonight: Do you make the same commitment that you will absolutely — sir, that you will absolutely accept the result of this election?

TRUMP: I will look at it at the time. I’m not looking at anything now. I’ll look at it at the time.

What I’ve seen — what I’ve seen is so bad. First of all, the media is so dishonest and so corrupt, and the pile-on is so amazing. The New York Times actually wrote an article about it, but they don’t even care. It’s so dishonest. And they’ve poisoned the mind of the voters.

But unfortunately for them, I think the voters are seeing through it. I think they’re going to see through it. We’ll find out on November 8th. But I think they’re going to see through it.

    WALLACE: But, sir, there’s…

TRUMP: If you look — excuse me, Chris — if you look at your voter rolls, you will see millions of people that are registered to vote — millions, this isn’t coming from me — this is coming from Pew Report and other places — millions of people that are registered to vote that shouldn’t be registered to vote.

So let me just give you one other thing. So I talk about the corrupt media. I talk about the millions of people — tell you one other thing. She shouldn’t be allowed to run. It’s crooked — she’s — she’s guilty of a very, very serious crime. She should not be allowed to run.

And just in that respect, I say it’s rigged, because she should never…

    WALLACE: But…

TRUMP: Chris, she should never have been allowed to run for the presidency based on what she did with e-mails and so many other things.

WALLACE: But, sir, there is a tradition in this country — in fact, one of the prides of this country — is the peaceful transition of power and that no matter how hard-fought a campaign is, that at the end of the campaign that the loser concedes to the winner. Not saying that you’re necessarily going to be the loser or the winner, but that the loser concedes to the winner and that the country comes together in part for the good of the country. Are you saying you’re not prepared now to commit to that principle?

TRUMP: What I’m saying is that I will tell you at the time. I’ll keep you in suspense. OK?

CLINTON: Well, Chris, let me respond to that, because that’s horrifying. You know, every time Donald thinks things are not going in his direction, he claims whatever it is, is rigged against him.

The FBI conducted a year-long investigation into my e-mails. They concluded there was no case; he said the FBI was rigged. He lost the Iowa caucus. He lost the Wisconsin primary. He said the Republican primary was rigged against him. Then Trump University gets sued for fraud and racketeering; he claims the court system and the federal judge is rigged against him. There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he started tweeting that the Emmys were rigged against him.

    TRUMP: Should have gotten it.

    (LAUGHTER)

CLINTON: This is — this is a mindset. This is how Donald thinks. And it’s funny, but it’s also really troubling.

    WALLACE: OK.

CLINTON: So that is not the way our democracy works. We’ve been around for 240 years. We’ve had free and fair elections. We’ve accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them. And that is what must be expected of anyone standing on a debate stage during a general election. You know, President Obama said the other day when you’re whining before the game is even finished…

    (APPLAUSE)

WALLACE: Hold on. Hold on, folks. Hold on, folks.

CLINTON: … it just shows you’re not up to doing the job. And let’s — you know, let’s be clear about what he is saying and what that means. He is denigrating — he’s talking down our democracy. And I, for one, am appalled that somebody who is the nominee of one of our two major parties would take that kind of position.

I stand corrected; it was the third debate and not the second, and Hillary did not specifically promise to accept the result.

However, what she did say she was horrified by Trump’s claim that he wouldn’t accept the election result until he’d had a look at it. And the inference in the following Hillary statement is pretty clear:

So that is not the way our democracy works…we’ve accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them. And that is what must be expected of anyone standing on a debate stage during a general election.

Now that she’s lost, she doesn’t seem to think this applies to her anymore.

The former lieutenant colonel who was wrongly accused of being involved in the infamous “Jedi Council” sex ring has slammed David Morrison over his handling of the affair, as Tasmanian crossbencher Jacqui Lambie prepares to ask the Senate to remove the ex-army chief as the current Australian of the Year.

Senator Lambie will give notice of the motion today, which refers to the treatment by Mr Morrison, as army chief, of former lieutenant colonel Karel Dubsky. The senator will call on the government to replace Mr Morrison with “a person worthy of the title”.

From the Oz. Never thought I’d agree with Jackie Lambie about anything…..

  11. JC

    Ryan is a complete loser.

Is he? He won his own seat comfortably. He managed to keep the GOP majority intact and he will re-elected speaker. Some loser there, Fisk.

Ryan doesn’t like Trump. A lot of people don’t like Trump, as we’ve seen in the polls. In fact a fucking majority of people don’t, so Ryan is hardly alone. The important thing to watch for is if Ryan and Trump create a workable partnership.

Lots of people who can work well together may not like each other.

  12. Never thought I’d agree with Jackie Lambie about anything…..

I suggest you pay more attention to Our Jacq. She now & then says something nobody else has the balls to, but badly needs saying all the same.

  13. Oh come on

He guessed he couldn’t win and stayed out. Nothing to do with ticker at all and house speaker is nothing to sniff at either.

I suspect Ryan had to reconcile himself to dump any Presidential ambitions he might have been harbouring up until that point when he agreed to assume the Speaker’s chair. It’s a position that pretty much guarantees unpopularity. Just ask John Boehner.

  14. Snoopy

A lot of people don’t like Trump, as we’ve seen in the polls.

Ahahaahahaha. Stop it! Snork, snork. FFS! Haha.

It’s a labor astroturf operation. Labor also lowered the age of consent when they were in power. It’s an affliction the party has to damage kids. Nothing to do with civil liberties.

  16. memoryvault

The only way it’s going to happen is if the Libs pansy out on their promise of a national plebiscite. So it probably will happen, then. Damn.

    How erudite of you, OCO.
And it only took you two years.

  17. Fisky

Ryan did nothing to keep the GOP majority. That was all Trump. Remember the dumb Ryan budget that ruined Romney’s campaign? It had an approval rating of about 16%. Ryan also passed Obama’s terrible budget that funded sanctuary cities and blew the debt out to 21 trillion.

    Dumb!

  18. Oh come on

Ryan’s comments in the wake of Pussygate about how women must be worshipped or whatever were just plain bizarre.

  19. JC

Ahahaahahaha. Stop it! Snork, snork. FFS! Haha.

    Ooh my sides hurt.

That counts for an argument now, does it, Snoopy?

Maybe if your sides hurt from laughing you ought to give yourself an uppercut to transfer the pain away from your sides to the bottom of your chin… and then tell yourself you’re being an oppositional moron.

  20. Oh come on

Shut up, MV. You’ve still got questions to answer.

  21. Fisky

Ryan is a protege of failed loser Jack Kemp, who apologised to Al Gore in the 1996 debate for belonging to a racist party.

I can see the evidence that Kemp said this.

  25. Fisky

Okay, what should he have done? Facts please.

Resigned and apologised for being a dumbass. He’s no good!

  26. Snoopy

I predict Ryan will rediscover his spine in 2017.

  27. Oh come on

I hope Romney is kept out of Foggy Bottom. He doesn’t deserve the position!

  28. Fisky

No Romney blotted his copybook. There is probably a job for him somewhere, but not State.

  29. JC

Resigned and apologised for being a dumbass. He’s no good!

Ummm what position should he have taken with respect to the budget at the time.

  30. JC

    whoops

Show us with an excerpt from the transcript where Kemp apologized for the reason that you said.

  31. Fisky

Notice how Ryan has often called Trump a racist and unfit for office. Trump should veto every bill put up by him. He’s poison.

  32. Snoopy

The Romney as Secretary of State malarky confirms Trump has a cruel streak.

    Excellent.

  33. JC

One thing at a time please.

    1. Show us the evidence that Kemp said this in the debate with the obese swine.

    2. what position should he have taken with respect to the budget at the time?

Fisky, take a deep breath and push down.

  34. Fisky

I believe Trump is doing this to torture Romney. Pretty funny.

  35. Fisky

OCO, best I remember, your last demand on me was I supply a link showing you admitted to being a craven coward who was going to leave all the heavy lifting to others.

    Was there anything else?

  40. Fisky

  41. JC

None of that four litre cheap rubbish for me.

    This piqued my curiosity:

Hundreds of refugees are risking their lives to enter the other end of France from northern Italy. The frontier between Italy’s Ventimiglia and Menton in southern France is already known as “Mini Calais.”

I was in Menton six weeks ago. There were no signs of a “Mini Calais”, unless it’s very mini indeed. Didn’t see Ventimiglia, as it’s on the railway line but a detour from the main drag into Italy. Lots of commuters travel in from Italy to work in Monaco, so you would expect to see some evidence of these people around the railway stations.

That road made the news though, shortly after we left. A group of illegals tried to use the Autostrada/Autoroute as it was quicker than the Via Aurelia to get into France. Only problem is that it’s vehicles only. One of them was ko’ed by a truck.

I wouldn’t presume to speak for others, but I speculate that many will consider your response to Armadillo’s question, given here, to be less than sincere. That’s certainly how I feel.

    Well, Oco, you are wrong.

In the response to Armadillo I basically said 3 things:

    1. Trump loves his country. I have made this observation numerous times, before the election and before the Convention even. I’d go further and say that while he’s ignorant of the provisions in, and the motivations behind, the US Constitution, he instinctively ‘gets it’ and is comfortable with it. Clinton and Obama ‘get it’, too, but their ambition has been to radically change it using whatever means available – legitimate and illegitimate.

    2. I was never a NeverTrumper. You will not find me advocating for Clinton here or anywhere else, as much as the bots were desperate to believe it. However, I was never going to kiss Trump’s butt and worship every one of his many stupid utterances either, and the criticism he copped from his own side in the US clearly banged his discipline into shape facilitating his narrow victory, if the 10 or so days prior to the election are any indication, IMO.

    3. His behaviour since the election has been impressive in most respects and this can be judged from what he has been doing, rather than what he has been saying. The Preibus appointment was a sop to the GOP, given that Trump appears to have shoved the weasel into Bannon’s back pocket, but the rest will probably prove to be very consequential.

The complete Lambie article from the Oz.

Comments underneath – so far 90% in favour of the Lamb, with many castigating the whole AOTY process.

Lambie wants David Morrison dumped as Australian of Year
    The Australian

The former lieutenant colonel who was wrongly accused of being involved in the infamous “Jedi Council” sex ring has slammed David Morrison over his handling of the affair, as Tasmanian crossbencher Jacqui Lambie prepares to ask the Senate to remove the ex-army chief as the current Australian of the Year.

Senator Lambie will give notice of the motion today, which refers to the treatment by Mr Morrison, as army chief, of former lieutenant colonel Karel Dubsky. The senator will call on the government to replace Mr Morrison with “a person worthy of the title”.

Mr Dubsky told The Australian yesterday he wanted a public apology from Defence for the way he was treated over the Jedi Council affair, making clear he was never part of the ring, which shared material detailing sexual exploits and demeaning images of women. He was the highest-ranking officer to be implicated in the scandal that rocked the defence establishment in 2013.

“With respect to the motion for removal of Australia of the Year, I personally believe the Australian of the Year should have honour, courage, respect and understand team work,” Mr Dubsky said.

“I don’t believe that in my case, and in many others, he (Morrison) has demonstrated those values.

Mr Dubsky added: “I didn’t want any of this media coverage. I just wanted a correction of the public record that I was not involved in the Jedi Council — something that Morrison and (former defence force chief David) Hurley both gave me letters for.

“I’m hopeful that the Senate understands the gravity of the situation and the toll that it has taken on me and my family, and that they do pass this motion.”

The scandal led to Mr Dubsky being relieved of his position as the commanding officer of the joint logistics unit in north Queensland for “failing to remain aware of issues that affect him, his unit and army.” None of the other men were in Mr Dubsky’s unit.

While it was determined that Mr Dubsky was not one of the army officers involved in the Jedi Council ring, he was identified as a member of the group. He has said publicly that this was made possible because Mr Morrison, in his June 2013 press conference on the scandal, revealed there was a lieutenant colonel who was part of the group.

Investigations found that Mr Dubsky was copied in — but never opened — any of the offending emails and the then defence force chief, General Hurley, wrote to him in October 2013 making clear he was no longer considered part of the group’s activities. But the experience took a heavy personal toll on Mr Dubsky, who was admitted to a psychiatric ward. He then tried to commit suicide when he heard Mr Morrison was made Australian of the Year.

In the draft motion, Senator Lambie accuses Mr Morrison of ignoring the findings of a NSW police report by Strike Force Civet into the Jedi Council and of allowing Mr Dubsky and others to be “wrongly accused” of being members of a group of sex-offenders.

“General Morrison’s behaviour caused exceptional and undue harm to retired lieutenant colonel Dubsky, his family, and other innocent members of the ADF — and demonstrated behaviour that was the opposite required of the Australian of the Year,” the motion says.

The motion notes that Australians of the Year have traditionally needed to demonstrate “excellence in their field” and to have been an “inspirational role model for the Australian community.”

Mr Morrison last night declined to comment.

If the Republicans can win one more State Governership at the mid terms and hold all the ones they have as well as the Senate and Congress then they can amend the Consitution. Introducing some electoral integrity laws via a Constitutional Amendment might be good. Examples can include:
-Mandatory voted ID (should introduce that in Aust as well)
-All voter rolls to be kept in a standardised way and purged of interstate moves and deaths, similar to Aust, then the rolls close prior to any early voting.
-Standardise the early and absentee voting arrangements
    -Standardise publishing of voting results

The Turkish government is yet to respond to Australia about the federal government’s wish to extradite Islamic State recruiter Neil Prakash.

“He’s obviously subject at the moment to the Turkish justice system, and Turkish legal processes,” Justice Minister Michael Keenan told ABC radio.

Melbourne-born Prakash is being detained in Turkey after being arrested trying to leave Syria using false identity papers.

“They’re very aware of our keen interest,” Mr Keenan said of the Turkish government.

Australia may have to wait in line as intelligence agencies in the European Union, United States and Israel make the case to question Prakash.

“The most important thing, of course, is that people involved in allegations of this nature face justice.”

More: Why arrest is such a big deal

Prakash has been an effective propagandist and recruiter for ISIS, having been a regular at the Al-Furqan centre in Melbourne’s south before he left for Syria in 2013.

He was said to have been in touch with Numan Haider, the radicalised Melbourne teenager who was shot and killed after attacking two officers outside a police station in the suburb Endeavour Hills in 2014.

Prakash has also been linked to other foiled attacks in Australia, including one planned for Anzac Day celebrations in Melbourne.

Mr Keenan wouldn’t go into the details of the extradition request or the allegations Prakesh would face from Australian authorities.

It’s got to the point whereby I don’t see any benefit in refuting you anymore. Now, you can say I’m wrong until you’re blue in the face. You can parrot the same points until you’re blue in the face. I still think you’re being insincere about all three points – your dogged persistence in slurring Trump as a truther by the most tenuous logic you can concoct* speaks far more persuasively than any denial you could issue. I’ll let others make their own decision as to whether they agree with me or not.

It is quite delicious when TheirABC and one of their heroes of Indigenous Australia have a major falling out.

In retaliation to Noel Pearson last week branding TheirABC as a miserable, racist organisation; prominent stories on AM and online report Pearson’s foul abuse and bullying of a Minister and Queensland Education staff and maladministration of the Good to Great education program at the Caper York Academy.

Pearson requested a meeting with Ms Google last week. Jeez I’d love to be a fly on the wall if that goes ahead.

    Paywallian:

The centre right Les Republicans party will go into next year’s general election led by hardline “Thatcherite’’ former prime minister Francois Fillon, who fended off another former prime minister, Alain Juppe, in a leadership ballot overnight.

Fillon, who was a rank outsider a month ago has staged a stunning coup to head Les Republicans, and is now the hot favourite to take on the Front National party and its leader Marine Le Pen in a general election in May, with the Socialists considered rank outsiders to take one of the final two positions.

“France wants the truth and France wants action,’’ Fillon said in his victory speech, fuelling calls to rip apart France and then rebuild it.

Critically, France’s diplomatic relationships are now poised to change with Fillon, 62, vowing to lift economic sanctions imposed on Russia for annexing Crimea and Le Pen also pitching a pro-Russian stance.

Fillon is a Conservative Catholic, with a Welsh wife, Penelope, and is a father of five, who previously voted against same sex marriage. He has vowed to go to next year’s polls with strict economic reforms and plans to cut more than half a million public sector jobs, reduce public spending by €110bn, raise value added tax by 2 to 3.5 per cent and end the 35-hour working week as well as extending the retirement age from 62 years to 65. Fillon has flagged lowering the cap on unemployment benefits as well as cutting levies on businesses and implementing tax cuts for families. He has also garnered support from the well-heeled for his plans to scrap the country’s wealth tax.

Fillon has openly embraced the tough decisions made by the former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, known as the Iron Lady, and considers any comparisons made of him to her as a compliment.

Clementine Ford was speechifying to a group of schoolkids and kept telling them ‘It’s OK to hate. It’s f*ckin OK.’ My, she is one angry person.

A lot of discussion about Mike Pence and what he would be doing to restrict abortion. Everyone agreed ‘he is more dangerous than Trump.’
