Where’s the FBI? Where’s the outrage?

With all the fake news about “fake news”, what about dealing with some real news. Why is this just a sidelight, hardly discussed anywhere in the media.

MORE ELECTOR THREATS: ‘PUT BULLET IN MOUTH’…
LONG-SHOT BID TO BLOCK MONDAY…
Angry Celebs Call For Coup…
Two war rooms, plus ‘weaponization’ against Trump…

We are down to an almost zero chance that the Electoral College will overturn the vote, but we are not down to zero attempts to influence the outcome, in no small part because of how well the election result has been received. This, too, is from Drudge.

AMERICA GREAT AGAIN: Dollar Climbs to Strongest Since 2003…
Homebuilder sentiment spikes 7 points, Trump has them feeling fantastic!
WIRE: Measures of Economic Optimism Shooting Up All Over…

This is partly why it won’t happen, but also a large part of the desperation on the left. Trump might really make America great again. This sideshow is not just repulsive but fantastically dangerous for civic peace. The first of the articles listed by Drudge is actually titled, Electors are being harassed, threatened in bid to stop Trump, which begins:

Electors around the country are being harassed with a barrage of emails, phone calls and letters — and even death threats — in an effort to block Donald Trump from being voted in as president by the Electoral College on Monday.

The bullying is overwhelming Sharon Geise’s tech devices, but not her resolve to support Trump.

The Mesa, Arizona, grandmother woke up Wednesday morning to more than 1,500 emails demanding she not carry out her legal duty to vote for the president-elect.

“They just keep coming and coming,” Geise told The Post, estimating she’s received more than 50,000 emails since the election. “They’re overpowering my iPad.”

Her answer: mass delete.

Despite the avalanche, she said, her decision to back Trump is stronger than ever.

Well, there are crazies everywhere, and you have to expect that in a country of 300 million adults, 50,000 is not necessarily a lot. But there is this to make you wonder:

The effort to deny the electoral vote to Trump was launched shortly after the Nov. 8 election.

The Clinton campaign came out in support of the effort Monday, backing an open letter from 10 Democratic electors to National Intelligence Director James Clapper calling for an intelligence briefing on what role Russian hackers may have played in the election.

To have given any air at all to this effort is for the Democrat candidate for president to be found among the crazies of the farthest left. To genuinely hope to succeed is to tempt a similar effect on the future of the American Republic as the assassination of Julius Caesar had on the Roman Republic in 44 BC.

Notice the jobs coming back, investor/business confidence up etc. Come January the ‘news’ will be how all of this is due to Obama. For all of Trump’s term the luvies will be seeking to credit Obama and his policies.

  2. A Lurker

The desire to rule is deeply ingrained in the totalitarian psyches of the regressive Left.
They will do ‘whatever it takes’ to achieve that outcome.

That giant of Liberty, the Liberty Commissioner Tim Wilson, referred to the “progressive overreach.” We have had CEOs fired for promising to shoot T666 with a sniper rifle. We saw cities tell T666 that it was unsafe to campaign there. Two assassination plots and an onstage attack. Gays for Trump get broken noses, while the mayor issued a stand-down order. And now this.

“Progressive overrreach” according to Our Timmy.

    USA Left are consistent.
Stupid in the past, still stupid.

When Riccardo Busso ran a book about the election electoral college numbers, I stated my number and added:

“an assassination attempt on DJT within 6 months .”

There are so many crazies in the USA, SS and FBI must be beside themselves ‘from where and when’.

    America is mentally screwed.

    Trump is GOD.

    Exactly.

It was funny seeing the Dhimmicrats trying to portray Obama as a sort of an heir to Reagan’s spirit of reform.

The left spent the whole of Reagan’s Presidency deriding him as dim-witted, delusional and a war monger.

I saw a picture at Drudge with the story where Obama opines that America had not got past slavery, accompanied by a picture showing Lincoln standing behind a pensive Obama, resting a sympathetic hand on his shoulder.

Particularly touching since Obama’s family were never slaves. He just happens to be the same colour.

Another bit of revisionism right there.

The inauguration will be something else.
My guess is that Washington will be worse than all the violent protests after the trump election put together.
Those supporting Trump and getting in will of course be weaponless, while those outside not so.

There is so much at stake here for leftism.
Violence will now be their only option.
And they, as history shows us, will take that option with gusto.
The march through the institutions has obviously been so complete over there, (as here) that if I were Trump I wouldn’t put complete trust in those charged with my safety.

Still waiting for Lena and Barbra to leave the country

Wasn’t Jon Stewart going to leave the planet?

“…calling for an intelligence briefing on what role Russian hackers may have played in the election.”

Maybe the Russians took one look at Hillary, another at Obama, and decided to push that ‘RESET’ button after all.

Australia should take a leaf out of America’s book and elect someone who will crackdown on illegal labor being used to undercut Aussies, propose a ban on muslim immigration, discourage offshoring, and drain the swamp.

Trump is probably more popular now than he was when he was elected. Signs of things getting better already will have won over people previously trepidatious, indifferent, and perhaps a few that voted for the Hilderbeest and have since seen how they were lied to.

It would be a rather reckless elector to think they should not put Trump in.

Question though – why do they have electors that then cast their own vote? Why introduce another stage of deliberation, rather than taking the number of electors each candidate won as de facto votes for the candidates>

    About the Electors

“Today, it is rare for Electors to disregard the popular vote by casting their electoral vote for someone other than their party’s candidate. Electors generally hold a leadership position in their party or were chosen to recognize years of loyal service to the party. Throughout our history as a nation, more than 99 percent of Electors have voted as pledged. “

While it is a Federal crime for anyone to “intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for voting or attempting to vote” the Federal Department of Justice (FBI, etc.) Declines To Comment On Why Agency Won’t Investigate Threats To Electors.

Threatening Electors Violates Federal Law. So Why Isn’t Loretta Lynch Doing Anything About It?

The individual States are apparently quietly providing protection to the Electors for now. Hopefully the new DoJ will take action come 20 January.
