    7th Battalion A.I.F

    Ball, George (1892–1916)
Posted to the 7th Battalion, Ball first saw action on 25 April 1915 at Gaba Tepe where he was wounded during the landing; he rejoined his battalion on 26 May and in its next major engagement, the battle for Lone Pine, won the Distinguished Conduct Medal for ‘conspicuous gallantry’. On 6 August, after all the officers and non-commissioned officers in his party had been killed or wounded, he ‘took command … in an isolated post, and held the enemy in check until reorganization had been effected’.
Following a period of outpost duty in the Canal Zone the 7th Battalion sailed for France on 26 March 1916. On 3 May they went into a relatively quiet sector of the line near Fleurbaix and then moved to Ploegsteert. In July and August the battalion took part in the battles for Pozières, suffering heavy casualties. The Ypres sector, their next post, was calm by comparison, and on the night of 30 September they raided enemy trenches near Hollebeke. Ball, a temporary sergeant since February, led one section of the raiding party along the German defences, ‘himself killing five or six of the enemy and displaying great courage and initiative’. For his role in this and similar encounters he was awarded a Bar to his D.C.M. Five weeks later, on 5 November, he was killed by a shell near Gueudecourt on the Somme battlefield.

Report: 44,000+ Emails and Attachments Sent To Wikileaks by
    DNC Staffer Seth Rich…

Posted on May 16, 2017 by sundance

The family of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich is denying* Rich was in communication with WikiLeaks. However, according to a Fox report* based on a federal investigator:

“44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders, spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016, were transferred from Rich to MacFadyen before May 21.” (link)*

    https://theconservativetreehouse.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/seth-rich-4.jpg

If that report* is accurate, and it’s too specific of a report to be considered a disingenuous assertion not founded in fact, two large issues immediately surface:

#1) The vast Russian conspiracy narrative about hackers being the source of the DNC leaks evaporates. Which could explain why the DNC refused to allow the FBI to review the servers etc.
#2) More alarmingly – With all of the expended investigative resources used by the FBI counterintelligence investigation, former FBI Director James Comey had to have known Seth Rich was the source of the DNC leaks.

That brings up even more questions about Director James Comey and his political motivations in creating an investigatory narrative that was entirely different from the facts known within the FBI.

Those people in Sydney know how to enjoy themselves:

Maserati driver has a day on the beach

NSW: The driver of a luxury car came up with an inventive solution to the limited parking in Sydney’s eastern suburbs yesterday morning by driving on to the sand. Beachgoers at Camp Cove in Watsons Bay were taken aback when the Maserati was driven on to the sand before becoming stuck. The driver reportedly jumped out of the car and relaxed in the sun until police arrived. Dressed in floral boardshorts, sunglasses and a cap with a Maserati logo, he smoked cigarettes, listened to Bob Marley from the car’s speakers and practised his golf swing.

    Then again, maybe not.

Police arrived about 10am and the car was towed from the beach. The driver, 51, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Apparently the east coast is going to get three days of rain. This is what happens when you offend the gods of nature by driving a Maserati on the beach.

Smoking linked to skin cancer: Qld study
    David Sigston, Australian Associated Press
    19 minutes ago
Smokers are significantly more likely to develop skin cancer, a Queensland study has found.

Researchers at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute spent three years monitoring the development of skin cancers in almost 19,000 Caucasian Queenslanders, ten per cent of whom were smokers, 35 per cent former smokers and 55 per cent who had never smoked.

“We found that current smokers were at significantly higher risk of SCC (squamous cell carcinoma) than former smokers or people who had never smoked,” Professor David Whiteman said.

Fox News: Seth Rich ‘Leaked Thousands of Internal Emails’… FBI Has Correspondence

    http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/05/16/seth-rich-wikileaks-emails-fbi/

Establishment Media Either Ignores or Mocks Story

Left-wing media outlets including the New York Times and CNN have so far failed to cover a FOX News report revealing that murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich had been in contact with Wikileaks.

On Tuesday morning, FOX News reported that Rich, who was murdered in Washington D.C. last July, sent 44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments to deceased investigative reporter Gavin MacFayden, a man with close links to Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.

“My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks,” an investigative source told FOX. “I do believe that the answers to who murdered Seth Rich sits on his computer on a shelf at the DC police or FBI headquarters.”

On July 22 last year, the WikiLeaks published emails implicating the DNC in attempting to derail Bernie Sanders’ campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

If proven, the report has the potential to be one of the biggest cover-ups in American political history, dispelling the widespread claim that the Russians were behind hacks on the DNC.

However, there has been silence from nearly all the establishment media outlets, including the New York Times, ABC, CNN and the BBC, who have refused to cover the story.

Instead, the outlets have been focusing on an unproven claim made by the Washington Post that Donald Trump had shared some “highly classified information” with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador to the U.S., despite it being legal to do so.

    Feminism and Intelligence
This realization occurred to me again when reading a CNN column written last week by Jill Filipovic, one of CNN’s feminist writers. (Does CNN employ a non-feminist female writer?)

The column was about Australian Sen. Larissa Waters, who breast-fed her child in the parliamentary chamber while Parliament was in session. The CNN writer, as would be expected, lauded the parliamentarian: What could be more beautiful or natural than breast-feeding in Parliament?
Among the writer’s arguments defending Sen. Waters was one in which she said, “Yes, for many people, breasts are sexually alluring or arousing — but so too are lips and hands, and having those out in Parliament doesn’t bring on sexual chaos.”
Now back to our feminist at CNN who compared the sexually alluring and arousing nature of visible lips and hands with visible breasts.
Men from Saudi Arabia, where women’s lips are regularly covered, go to the West and pay to see women’s breasts, not their lips.

Analysis: McMaster Doesn’t Deny Core Elements of WaPo Story, But Rejects Its Premise
But I suspect that this story isn’t over yet. Three possibilities remain, as I see it: First, that Trump didn’t do anything remotely inappropriate. Second, that he very obviously screwed up, and that McMaster is serving up distortionary spin to protect his boss. Third, that the central question of this controversy rests on subjective judgments — with one side of the debate perceiving Trump’s disclosure as relatively harmless and routine, and the other side insistently viewing it as neither. If I had to bet, I’d choose door number three — and determining which side’s impression is closer to the truth will likely require more information. Which probably means more leaks, which are slowly consuming the Trump administration.

A little bit of sense has been injected into the debate surrounding their usefulness:
The Children’s Doctor director Dr Annemarie Christie, who has an eight-year-old with ADHD, is not a fan of fidget spinners.

“Our children would benefit far more if they put the electronics and the fidget spinners away and went outside,’’ she said.

“They should be riding bikes, climbing trees, building cubby houses and playing soccer with their mates.

“They are unable to do any of these things if they are holding a fidget spinner.’’

The Deep State guys screeching “Jordan!!” in WaPo and Bloomberg might however have brought some additional info to the attention of ISIS. Which was of course the aim. On Spacechook, one of areff’s mates, Peter Fenwick, nails the 2017 ScoMo budget:

The regulatory and coercive powers of the state have been captured by sectional interests for their own economic benefit. Once the state is allowed to enrich some groups at the expense of others, it creates the motive for political influence and the mechanism for the illegitimate use of the state for selfish interests. The consequences of this mistake have been dire. A sense of entitlement prevails. Individuals lack responsibility. Power is abused. Civil virtues decline.

    As Yuval Levin explained:
“Because all citizens – not only the poor – become recipients of benefits, people in the middle class come to approach their government as claimants, not as self-governing citizens, and to approach the social safety net not as a great majority of givers eager to make sure that a small minority of recipients are spared from devastating poverty, but as a mass of dependants demanding what they are owed. It is hard to imagine an ethic better suited to undermining the moral basis of a free society.”

Sixty percent of households now receive more in benefits than they pay in income tax. Many of the rest are dependent on the government for their salaries – some, especially in government agencies, quite large ones. If it looks unsustainable, that is because it is. Welfare benefits cannot be reduced without losing voters. The future looks grim.

The decision on whether to charge George Pell with historical sexual-abuse allegations now rests with Victoria Police after the Office of Public Prosecutions yesterday returned the brief of evidence.

A police spokesman confirmed advice from Victoria’s Director of Public Prosecutions John Champion SC concerning the investigation of Cardinal Pell had been received.

The OPP advised police that, based on its assessment of the evidence, they could charge the cardinal, Melbourne’s Herald Sun reported last night. Despite the green light, the advice made it clear that ultimately it was up to the police whether to act. “Detectives from Taskforce Sano will now take time to consider that advice,” police spokesman Charlie Morton said last night. “As with any investigation, it will be a decision for Victoria Police as to whether charges are laid.”

Cardinal Pell has strenuously denied all allegations.

It is understood the latest development took lawyers for the cardinal by surprise.

This was the second time a brief of allegations concerning Cardinal Pell, Australia’s highest-ranking Catholic, had been sent to the OPP.

A brief was referred last year but the OPP sent it back without recommendations.

The Australian understands senior figures in the Catholic Church were unaware the brief had been returned or that any decision about charges would now rest with police.

A spokesman said the cardinal had no comment.

Cardinal Pell met three Victoria Police officers at the Vatican in October for a voluntary interview. The brief compiled by police was sent to the OPP in February for advice.

Allegations relate largely to his tenure as a young priest in the Diocese of Ballarat, where hundreds of children were abused by the clergy.

It has been publicly alleged that Cardinal Pell abused young boys in Ballarat’s Eureka swimming pool in the late 1970s.

Former St Alipius students Lyndon Monument and Damian Dignan claimed Cardinal Pell touched their genitals while playing in the pool.

ABC journalist Louise Milligan published further allegations in her book Cardinal: The Rise and Fall of George Pell published by Melbourne University Press.

Lawyers representing Cardinal Pell this week demanded an apology and retraction from Fairfax Media and The Guardian over articles repeating child sexual-abuse allegations made in the book, described by the cardinal as a “character assassination”.

In a statement on Monday night, a spokesman for the cardinal said: “Each and every allegation of abuse and cover-up against him is false. The book is an exercise in character assassination. The decision by MUP to bring forward the publication of the book … is a blatant attempt to interfere in the course of justice.

“Unlike MUP, the cardinal will not interfere with the course of justice. He will await the outcome of due process before launching defamation action.”

Neither Fairfax nor The Guardian responded to The Australian before publication.

    The Australian 17 May 2017

I’ve quoted the Australian article in the hope of a little more clarification with regard to what VicPol consider advice and what is referred to as recommendations.
This article states that the brief was returned the first time with no recommendation. A VicPol spokesman says the second brief was returned with advice which they will study before acting. I am starting to feel like I’m reading weasel words where there is no recommendation made with the second brief.

Australian Financial Review Editorial Today sums up Australia under Liberals

We are in tax reform dead end

The political forces behind the Coalition’s surrender to Labor’s big government spending monuments are now unravelling a generation of tax reform that helped generate the nation’s modern prosperity. Not only are both sides of politics committed to more low-productivity spending monuments, they are resorting to more distorting and inefficient taxes to try to fund them. Australia’s political class is walking away from the basic principles of tax reform: a broader base, lower rates, like treated as like, simplicity and a shift from income to consumption. This risks trapping Australia in a vicious cycle that will undermine economic growth and the hopeful return to surplus.

Former Treasury secretary Ken Henry yesterday likened Scott Morrison’s cynical new revenue grab from the liabilities of the big five banks to the old financial institutions duties. These inefficient state government FID taxes were abolished as part of the Howard government’s GST package in 2000 under Australia’s last productivity-enhancing tax reform. After becoming Malcolm Turnbull’s Treasurer in 2015, Mr Morrison sought to reboot Joe Hockey’s “Re-think” tax reform push. Like Mr Hockey, Mr Morrison continued to pursue the logic of tax reform by reducing Australia’s relatively heavy reliance on income taxes and so sharpen the incentives to work, save and invest. But he was sensationally undercut by Mr Turnbull in early 2016 after the numbers supposedly didn’t add up. After compensating lower income earners for any rise in the GST, there would be not enough money left to seriously cut income tax.

The even more disturbing reason for this appears to be that so many more Australians now depend on welfare of some sort compared to those who pay tax, thanks to measures such as Labor’s lifting of the tax-free threshold to $18,200, the expansion of middle-class family payments under both sides of politics and the rise of part-time employment. By now, according to KPMG, 60 per cent of households receive more from federal government transfer payments than they pay in tax. These payments include such absurdities as a compensation payment for a carbon tax that no longer exists. Even more striking, the KPMG numbers reckon the top one-fifth of households pay income tax equal to 150 per cent of the tax paid by the bottom four-fifth of households.

It is like this top rung of wealth creators are being targeted to pay for the spendathon on Medicare, schools and disability services now endorsed by both sides of politics. Like the banks, that’s where the money is. Higher income earners will pay the great bulk of Mr Morrison’s 0.5 percentage point increase in the Medicare levy. But Labor will never be outbid on “fairness”. So Bill Shorten insists the levy must only be paid by those in the top two tax brackets, further shrinking the proportion of net taxpayers. And he demands that Mr Hockey’s “temporary” 2 percentage point tax levy on incomes over $180,000 be entrenched, depicting it as a tax cut for millionaires. The Labor leader would lift Australia’s top personal income tax rate to 49.5 per cent when Paul Keating rightly says that anything above 39 per cent is punitive and incentive destroying. And, ever the populist, Mr Shorten would leave Australia’s bigger companies with an internationally uncompetitive 30 per cent tax rate just as the US and Britain are cutting theirs to 20 per cent or less.

This is the tax and spend bind that Australia has trapped itself in after our biggest resources boom. A higher plateau of unproductive government spending. Increased taxes weighted more towards incentive-destroying personal income tax. A leaking GST base that covers a shrinking proportion of consumption spending. An uncompetitive company tax rate just as we need business investment to take over from the resource investment and housing construction booms. All this amounts to a tax on economic growth, jobs and opportunity that cannot end well.

It is a good thing overall. They won’t be backing North Korea for longer, are likely to democratise and will reduce the “need” for foreign aid, along with creating even larger primary and secondary export markets for us.

Of course, we should maintain our interests and be militarily prepared, and cultivate a mature, friendly trade orientated position with China. We should keep them outside of the Pacific Islands and Indian Ocean.

The regulatory and coercive powers of the state have been captured by sectional interests for their own economic benefit. Once the state is allowed to enrich some groups at the expense of others, it creates the motive for political influence and the mechanism for the illegitimate use of the state for selfish interests.

Scott Morrison orders ACCC to probe the banks’ truth on interest rates

TREASURER Scott Morrison has slammed the banks for using “voodoo” to come up with mortgage rate rises and has ordered a crack squad of ACCC investigators to probe whether banks are giving customers the truth behind the hikes.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Morrison foreshadowed a revolution in Australia’s banking system, inviting more overseas financial institutions and issuing more banking licences, to weaken the power of the big four.

Stepping up his war on the banks’ “stranglehold” on Australians, the Treasurer said a team at the ACCC will force banks to explain publicly why they’re raising rates — and whether those reasons are justified.

The ACCC inquiry, to be conducted until June 30, 2018, will force the banks to explain any planned changes to their fees, charges, interest rates, following a trend where the banks jacked up their rates beyond the Reserve Bank’s cash rate.

A defiant Mr Morrison also commented on NAB chairman, and former Treasury Secretary, Ken Henry’s demand for an inquiry into the federal government’s $6.2 billion bank levy.

“We’ve seen in recent days … how the banks behave and it’s only just reinforced to us why it’s so important that the big banks get held to account,” he said. “(Ken Henry) clearly has one view as a head of treasury and then one view as the head of a bank.”

Fantastic. The Turnbull United Party has just outflanked Labor – from the Left.

Expect a ‘Bank Fees and Interest Rates’ Regulator by the middle of next year.

Shorter version – ‘nice bank you have there, shame if anything happened to it.’ Anna Bligh is going to be making regular trips to Canberra with deposit slips from Swiss bank accounts showing appropriate payments rendered.

I reckon it’s bullshit. Trump always had it in mind to fire the fuck, so any half way smart guy would be careful seeing it’s Comey.

In any event, since when has a two way conversation that can’t be corroborated be considered evidence.

The Donald five days ago before the latest shit storm:

James Comey better hope that there are no “tapes” of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!

Everyone has been assuming Trump is intimating he fired up Nixon’s old tape recorder and taped discussions with Comey.

What if, in the interests of Comey having a complete record, Comey was wearing an FBI wire during meetings ? If it is official FBI kit, would not the tapes and transcripts be government property and therefore useable ?

This is an amazing show – it is making ‘Enemy of the State’ look more prophetic than ever.

Re: Pell sliming, can you FOI the ABC?

  154. johanna

I do wish the ABC would make up what it is pleased to call its mind. We are constantly subject to hand-wringing about the amount of food that gets wasted, but they are now telling us to throw out almost anything with a bit of mould growing on it:

There are many different types of moulds that can grow on our food; the most common include Aspergillus and Penicillium, and Botrytis which you might see as a fur on your strawberries.

So what do toxins from such moulds do to us?

While it’s rare, they can cause severe illness with symptoms including excessive sweating, tremors, muscle weakness, twitching, headache, fever, and vomiting.

I’ll say it’s rare. As a lifelong mould-remover from otherwise perfectly good food, it’s never made me or anyone I know ill.

They claim that it is dangerous to cut the mouldy bits off bread or cheese, or even to scoop a bit of mould off the top of jam and eat the rest. Now they tell me! 🙂

Obviously one has to be sensible about these things, but if you are down to your last bit of bread or cheese and it has a few blue spots, just chop ’em off and eat it, FGS. Mouldophobia, closely related to germophobia and addiction to use by/best before dates, contribute significantly to the food waste problem they bleat about all the time.

The only thing I am careful about is raw chicken, which can turn toxic very quickly. Oh, and mass produced “free range” eggs have produced several cases of salmonella poisoning in trendy restaurants.

But really, if you believe the food nannies, it’s a wonder that we aren’t all dropping like flies in every domestic kitchen.

While it is common in Australia to mull up

the potential health risks as the smoker
ingests more tar and other harmful
    carcinogens. Although many smokers may
mix their cannabis with tobacco to make it

How disgusting is WAPO? Before running their fake story, they didn’t check their “sources” against a single person who was actually there.
    ..
WAPO cites “former US Officials (read, “Obama hacks) as the source for their story. How they hell would THEY know what was said?!!!
    ..
News Flash to the America hating Media – Trump has always said he would work with Russia to defeat ISIS. This is NOT news.
    ..
We have crossed the Rubicon. WAPO #FakeNews has become #CriminalNews and #EspionageNews and #TreasonNews.

    Didn’t Steinem marry A MAN

She’s a whore. She rubbed up against deep-pockets NY Daily News owner Morty Zuckerman for a while, later admitting she put up with the little dweeb because he had money and she needed it for Ms Magazine. She should have kept her knees together. Anne Summers came along not long after and ran the business into the ground by launching teen mag Sassy and entirely alienating advertisers and her target audience’s Middle American parents by peppering it with stories in praise of dildos, wanking and saphic schoolyard trysts.

Summers returned to Australia along with business Partner Sandra Yates, who hired her pal’s profoundly stupid boyfriend to run the Sydney Writer Festival.

Australia, what a great place. Talent, not needed. Brains, optional. Competence, vastly over-rated. All you need to get ahead in Australia is mates and access to the public pursue.

  215. Muslim activist Yassmin Abdel-Magied has suggested the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster in 2010 could have been avoided if executives from the companies responsible had been drawn from more diverse backgrounds…………

    Yeah right. She’s basically taken Theodore Dalrymple’s very astute observation (# 34,281) and flipped it;

“Social engineering and engineering are two very different activities. It would be no consolation to know while on a collapsing bridge and about to plunge into the deep ravine below that it had been built by a truly representative sample of the population, and was therefore a monument to social justice. “

Manning ought to be free and General James Clapper ought to be in gaol.

If not for people like Manning, Clapper could not have been caught out lying to Congress about the US government illegally spying on their own citizens.

We could even be reasonable and demand that democratic governments stop allowing each other to spy on their citizenry and drop all charges.

  217. Australia, what a great place. Talent, not needed. Brains, optional. Competence, vastly over-rated. All you need to get ahead in Australia is mates and access to the public pursue.

I suppose that explains the tall poppy syndrome. They hate people getting ahead who don’t have access to the mates and public purse option.

  219. If we had not been systematically forcing women to have children they don’t want or can’t care for over the 500 years of patriarchy

Imagine the reaction of the media if this were said, not of children, but of the poor, the stranger, or the elderly. This is what you get from 60 years of feminist scumbaggery.

Fat Tony – I am a Christian. As a result of the horrific behaviour of their fellow muslims in Syria, many muslims are converting to Christianity. And in Europe too.

A lot of people go with the flow because it is better than having their heads cut off. The strategy to take is to make it possible for those people to escape the cult without being forced to drink the Kool Aid.

We should design a situation to encourage that.

In the interests of balancing the political debate, do we have an
International day for homophobia, transphobia and biphobia?

This is the entire purpose of “International days for / against / of [insert socialist justice cause here]”. They embody every aspect of Gramscian-Alinsky tactics.

The subtle inference is that the other 364 days of the year are devoted to the antithesis of whatever is being highlighted on that day.

How do we not learn from this? Why do we not have a “Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Socialism”? Why is there not a memorial on Lake Burley-Griffin for the thousands of drowned illegals under Rudd-Gillard? Why have kids never heard of the Holodomor?

I don’t think you can FOI the ABC.

re DPP statement – the police always have the power to lay charges at any time – even if the dpp were invovled and didn’t recommend them. What the DPP said was just bare fact – we wont bring charge but you can if you want.

It sounds weird – hearing any reference to Kwiggin’s intellect.

    Correct.
It is being spun as a “Green Light” to lay charges by the Mudrock press, which simply shows how ignorant they are of the process.
As I pointed out here last night, the normal process for serious sexual assault would be that VicPol prepare a brief of evidence which the DPP would prosecute if it thought it had a winnable case.
Normally they would just return the brief if they didn’t think it had a chance of getting up and that would be the end of it.
Clearly Fatty has been leaning on the DPP to prosecute and this is their way of telling him to go out on a limb and start sawing trunk-side.
I almost want him to do it and watch Pell’s QC tear Fatty’s star witnesses to pieces.

ABC’s The World Today remains in deep Derangement Syndrome, virtually pleading with an American Professor that there should be some way Trump can be removed/impeached.

That’s because The Clinton Crime Cartel is indeed (deeds and guilty parties), International, and they have good reason to fear the fallout of Trump getting Justice Done.

YAM is half right re Deepwater Horizon – more diversity in the decision making team would likely lead to better decision making.

However, the last people you want in the decision making team are people from cultures with a high power distance relationship i.e. those who do what they are told by the boss and obey authority without question. So that rules out involving most people from North and East Africa and the Middle East – cultures that have extremely high power distance relationships.

The diversity that would have helped is not in culture or gender or sexuality, but in the way people understand the problem and develop solutions.

Yep, too many engineers on the team leading Deepwater Horizon. The odd dentist or two, a nurse here and cabinet maker there would have given the team much greater diversity and a far greater insight.

In the interests of balancing the political debate, do we have an
International day for homophobia, transphobia and biphobia?

The place where I work has drinkies one Friday afternoon a month. Usually there is a raffle for some charity or other – the homeless, the sick, the old, various forgotten demographics (I can’t remember who they are).

This month it is that anti-homo-trans-bi-phobia thing. They have brought in some tacky transvestite to be a bit of an act, apparently.

The company itself has declared that it will do more to promote these sadly befuddled Oxford-Street urchins.

Now, either they have caught themselves actively recruiting against alphabet people (and, from my experience, the recruitment process focuses on professional competence, or (and this is my suspicion) they intend to start discriminating in their favour.

It just sticks in my throat that my contract of employment is being used to rope me into supposedly supporting a cause where supposedly hard-headed engineers have become cowed by SJW’s.

It’s my way of pointing out you are a liar.

No interest in the priest or the bike, sir.

but keep pretending it is me with the obsession, Cats are pretty smart and can draw their own conclusions.

I looked up your favourite epithet ‘churchian’ as I hadn’t heard it before you starting using it, so yeah no, and your comments about the Catholic Church last December haven’t disappeared from the internet either.

  237. hzhousewife

They have brought in some tacky transvestite to be a bit of an act, apparently.

Is this person to be paid for the “act”.
If so, I see the inklings of a new industry here, an industry parallel to that of the “welcome to country” industry, which has become so successful no ceremonial event or large gathering can occur without a performer.

  238. Mother Lode

I don’t know if the gaudy bauble with a double chin is being paid.

I am not sure if it is going to do a show and make nauseating innuendos about audience members wanting to do carnal things with it (along with torturing songs with sadistic relish), make a speech meant to give little shocks to the audience with it’s salacious audacity, or just totter about on its grand hams intruding into conversations to steer them its own way.

Moreover, I am not going to be there to find out.
