    Thanks for that.
Political issues seem to come into play a lot with these countries.
IIRC,, a sheep ship was refused entry to a number of ports around 2003, and the Howard Government eventually gave the sheep plus a million dollars worth of feed to Eritrea, just for taking them.
So Australian taxpayers underwrite Live Sheep exports.

Here’s a better idea. Let’s stop paying these arsehole countries to play Ducks and Drakes with us, and process all livestock in Australia.
You know, add value and enhance productivity, like the Government is always telling us is the pathway to prosperity.

Amazing flag-waving, nationalist scenes at the Tonga/Samoa league test.
The commentators have been agog the whole game about the display of “passion” in the stands.

If you want a bit of tribe on tribe action the Australian Open tennis is the place to be, especially when there is a bit of Serb v Croat action happening. Nothing like settling a couple of hundred year old feuds with white plastic chairs and a beer.

We are fortunate in that we don’t yet have the critical mass of Islamists that has seen terrorism blossom in France and Belgium, and crimes against women soar in Sweden and Germany, and there are many Muslims here who know what a wonderful nation they are fortunate enough to live in.

Good article by Piers spoiled by the usual disclaimer about good muslims; the only good muslim is an apostate.

When I was in Guam I brought a Daisy Buck BB gun for my friend in Majuro’s two sons and dropped it off earlier in the week. Every nook and cranny of their land is now adorned with drink can targets. I think they’re about halfway through the 2,000 BB’s I also gave them.

There is not much difference to selling wedding cakes to all but then refusing an order for religious reasons, and a restaurant deciding not to serve someone for political reasons.

Once you open the pandora’s box of having a reason to refuse service it allows all the spurious ones through.

  9. So you agree that the baker has the right not to bake the cake and not to be forced to by government?

No, but since your side made it legal, I am enjoying it when the boot is on the other foot. Live by your own rules and see how you like it when they go against you. That Alinsky fella was onto something.

“Could she have published Devoured if her mum was still alive? “I don’t know. Fortunately for us all, life doesn’t work like that. The origami shape of life allows things to be folded round a corner that you’re not quite sure about and then – ‘Oh look, I’ve made a swan.’”

Devoured portrays a time when a generation of parents were preoccupied with their own liberation at the expense of providing children with the space or safety to be children. It is a funny book but an angry one too. “Yes, I have been angry but I’m not blameful,” says Mackmin. “I don’t blame my mum. My mum and indeed my dad were victims of that moment in history, of supposedly women’s emancipation and the psychotherapeutic generation – ‘oh me, me, me’ – putting themselves at the centre. Despite this ideology, they were still dragging behind them an idea of women where their bodies and sexuality were really the only thing that had any currency – and that’s what I was interested in.”

Laughter is breath, it alters your being, and it allows you to move on, and keep living

Without giving too much away, one hippy befriends Nearly Thirteen in a way that today would be called grooming. I’m surprised when Mackmin says it’s not. “He’s doing what those adult children were doing – working out who he is by saying what he thinks in the moment. All of them are feeling themselves – feelings, feelings, feelings are everything. ‘I feel this and therefore I am,’ rather than ‘I feel this and therefore I’m going to think about it, and the cake I make out of the mix of those two will lead me forward.’”

    Comrade hippy maaaates.

The big reason we should fear Millennials – PETA CREDLIN

PEOPLE aged between 22 and 38, the so-called Millennial Generation, are the luckiest people in history.

They’ve had no real experience of war, economic recession or social unrest. Yet a Centre for Independent Studies poll, released this week, found that 58 per cent of them have a favourable view of socialism; 62 per cent believe that workers are worse off today than 40 years ago, and 60 per cent believe that capitalism has failed, even though market economies have produced the greatest wealth and the greatest relative equality the world has ever seen. All of which they’ve benefited from, of course.

Incredibly, 51 per cent of this socialist-inclined generation knew nothing of Chairman Mao. Only 34 per cent knew about Stalin and just 26 per cent Lenin. I guess if you think socialism is a good thing, the less you know about the 80 million or so murdered the under the regimes of Mao and Stalin the better! The only possible conclusion, based on this study, is that the rising generation is ignorant, biased, or naive. The further inescapable truth is that they haven’t so much been educated, as brainwashed, through school and university.

It’s true that right now, wages are stagnant, housing is out-of-reach and power prices are going through the roof — so there’s plenty to be unhappy about — but no serious person could credibly claim that people are worse off today than in 1970, or that market capitalism has failed. So what the Millennials think they know is not knowledge, it’s mere prejudice and left-wing prejudice at that.

It’s easy to blame teachers and the education system but these Millennials are adults now so they share some responsibility for failing to better inform their world view. And parents too. Right now, Millennials make up one third of all Australian voters and with the oldest of this generation now 38, they’re moving into positions of power in government and business. Without a fact based understanding of history, but with a rosy view of socialism, you’ve got to be concerned where Australia will head under their leadership unless they’re prepared to learn what they don’t know.

  13. JC

Not at all Tom. Restaurants blackballing Trumpkins is just the free market expressing its will, unfettered by government regulation. So the opposite of what you said.

‘Gardening Australia’ was at least arguably one of the more worthwhile shows on the ABC, but now it has moved to a one hour format, it seems to be struggling badly for content.

Lately what used to be the core product – advice and information on gardening – has been supplemented/overtaken by ‘human interest’ stories, almost all of them from a ‘progressive’ viewpoint.

Every time I see the current compere of GA, my immediate reaction is to want to run a lawn mower over his face. What genius in TheirABC thought that hiring someone whose head looks like a hedge that hasn’t been trimmed for 20 years is a good idea?

Peter Cundall had his faults, but at least he didn’t look like someone you wouldn’t want to meet in even a well lit alley.

As for the content, such as it is, it’s been going downhill for years. I remember during the mini-drought in the early years of this century they were all about ‘water wise’ gardens because it would never rain again due to growball warmening. They had all these segments featuring ugly, spiky plants set in beds of gravel as a substitute for eeevil lawns.

As I have recounted here before, the ACT gubbmint took them at their word and ripped up Green Square in Kingston, a square of lawn in the shopping area much loved and used by mums with little kids, local workers at lunchtime, and punters enjoying open air live music, and replaced it with concrete and gravel and horrible spiky plants. The effect on local businesses was so great that in the end they pooled their funds and paid to have the lawn restored.

As for advice about actual gardening, you are wasting your time at GA. There are dozens of internet sites, including this one, that are far more useful and interesting. H/T calli and others.

For example, the topic of rose pruning is hotly contested in gardening circles. You will wait a long time for GA to discuss the various opinions on this in a comprehensive fashion. They are too busy preaching the importance of being environmentally correct at all times.

You actually have a point this time slimeball. Retailers invite to treat from the public in respect of their goods and services. Invitations to treat are not binding and can be withdrawn. The anti-gay wedding baker was not caught because he withdrew his services but because of the anti-discrimination overlay qualifying the base right of the inviter to treat to withdraw that invitation.

The mussos love the killing and the blood ,refrigeration is strange to them , so they will be reluctant to buy chilled meat and you only need one mad mullah to say it’s not halal and it’s goodnight business . If they do buy chilled meat the union dickheads will destroy the industry with greedy and ridiculous claims to make it look as though they are doing something ,the old left trick.
Years ago I knew a family who opened an export meat business ,they were a considerable benefit to the area with jobs and buying stock . The slaughtermen started work at 6 am and were in the pub by 11.30 their wages were bigger than the offshore oil workers who actually lived in Bass straight half their lives .
The union “officials” I knew were drunken dickheads they got carried away with power and the workers followed them , continuous wild cat strikes ,crazy pay and condition demands . Of course the company’s ability to supply meat to buyers was compromised and theylost contracts ,finallu[y the owners folded the business up , and sold the equipment and land ,unemployment soared in the towm as there were no more industries and sensible employers would no employ the ex workers due to their attitude , local farmers suffered loss of sales and lower prices due to oversupply. So that’s the scenario we face when the left destroy the sheep trade ,their fellow communists will destroy their only solution . GOD HELP AUSTRALIA.

Do you mean the faked ABC footage? Do you mean we should regulate what goes on inside other countries?

Ah, dot. You’ve had a bong today. We already do regulate the export of live cattle and sheep to other countries. But our farmers and exporters only pay lip service to their responsibilities under that regulation.

    PS. The footage wasn’t faked.

Remember this about Their ABC. They colluded with animal rights activists to organise brutal and horrendously cruel torture of cattle so they could film it and close down the live cattle trade. Their ABC is an evil organisation.

Basically, whether it’s mining or agriculture, or any other primary product, that’s all we can supply here.
We are too corrupt to value add to anything.
Only the raw product can be exported, whether it is mining or agriculture.
Live sheep is the raw product.
It is produced by non union Labour on farms, because farms are spread far and wide and too hard to unionize.
Putting their product through an easily unionised slaughterhouse is a recipe for disaster that cannot work in Australia.
Think Shepparton canning fruit, and even our dairies are folding under the weight of unionism.
We can’t value add here, be it mining or agriculture, and raging theorists in bubbles who think we can, need to get out more.

When Do We Get To The Last Straw?

    By Dave Merrick —— June 23, 2018

It was when I was a kid in junior high that I came to the end of my patience with bullies. At thirteen, I was an easy-going young man closing in on 6 1/2 feet tall. On the way there, a lot of my smaller (most all of them were) peers discovered that I would take a lot of ribbing and silently absorb it or laugh it off. One particular morning, however, I was on my way to give a special girl a satin heart full of chocolates, and the candy was balanced precariously on the bundle of schoolbooks I had under my arm. As I was walking down the hall toward her classroom, one of my regular irritations – a normal-sized classmate of mine – attempted to entertain some friends by running up and pushing me from behind. My books and the chocolate box went flying to the floor. The heart-shaped box sprang open, and the chocolates rolled in all directions. A fight ensued. The perp went home with two black eyes and a bloody nose. All who witnessed my last straw testified in my favor. Our principal completely exonerated me. And no one ever messed with me again. When I got into college, I was 6’10” tall. That tussle in junior high was the very last time I had to use my fists to communicate with anyone. No brag. Just fact. Enough was enough.

I wish the conservative faction in this country would get that tired of being bullied. Much like the good-natured derp that I was in seventh grade, I just don’t think conservatives – even¬Christian professing conservatives – have caught on to the fact that we do not have to continue docilely being pushed around as the last vestiges of free America are being assaulted and irreparably damaged. I am certainly not recommending immediate physical violence as a solution to any of the societal/political difficulties we have been experiencing. But, here and there, we do have entirely workable, effective ways and means at our disposal to deal with the problems we are currently allowing the bullying left to ram down our throats.

I have seen a lot of conservative commentary conjecturing the possibility of another civil war here in our nation. In many respects, the inevitability of such a thing happening presents itself as an emerging threat that seems more likely every day. I’m hoping that won’t happen. And I know that if we begin now to make it understood, in the polls and through aggressive and unyielding declaration, litigation, and legislation, that our patience has come to its final end, we can avoid civil war – absolutely. But when the unavoidable necessity of that ultimate protest presents itself, just as currently no one is asking us to stand on our feet and defy their bullying, we will then not be sent any invitations from the opposition. They want us to just fold up and let them destroy us without notice or resistance.

As pertains to me, my size has certainly precluded the likelihood of a lot of people getting in my face. And I have never been one to pick a fight, because I know that it is always best to let sleeping dogs lie. But I brought up my dimensions in order to make a comparison: The people who make up conservatism and conservative Christianity here in America comprise quite a great number. If we were truly united we would make up an imposing and formidable adversary – one that warrants some respect. Moreover, a lot of the left and undecided are daily making decisions to move their opinions and support toward the right. Every day the lies and evil shenanigans of 2018 socialism posing as liberalism become more visible. And there are a lot of people who don’t want to put up with that anymore. It therefore makes perfect sense that the liberal news media/entertainment empire and the largely liberal-owned and governed Internet are becoming increasingly hostile toward conservative efforts to inform and bring solidarity to the right. If it is within their power, they’re not going to let that happen. If Disney buys Fox, it will be ‘Katie, bar the door.’

But how much more of this abuse can those of us who play by the rules continue to take? Hillary can, with impunity, lie like a rug and change colors like a chameleon. And Obama can do all that while traveling the world on our nickel and keeping a task force of our most expensive Secret Service on their toes 24/7. And the liberal mainstream media totally covers up their every iniquity. But when our First Lady puts on a jacket thumbing her nose at the press (who has every intention of criticizing her, regardless of what she wears or does), the major networks are instant to report how all the nations of the world are OUTRAGED at her condescending and racist ‘heartlessness’! That sort of nonsense will now make headlines, coast-to-coast, with accompanying cartoons and commentary. Michael Cohen’s shredded documents have been reassembled as he is threatened with crucifixion. And all the while a guilty-as-hell Hillary Clinton who destroyed boxcars of damning evidence will do more of her worldwide whine tour – perhaps this time in Tanzania – using an interpreter to tell her African audience about the evils of “Trump” and the electoral college.

The conservative people who keep going to work and continue paying the bills for this nation have had to watch race riots and towns being torn to shreds because our black president spent his eight years stirring the pot of racial hatred – that had, prior to his appearance, lay largely dormant and healing – in order to preserve his voter base and further intimidate whitey. And we must stand back and remain silent-while a tide of illegal immigrants, many of whom are criminals, floods our country and scoops up our tax money. But when Donald Trump – who had to win the Oval Office twice – tweets something directly to America so the liberal media liars can’t twist the truth out of it … again, there is hell to pay. Conservative writers backtrack through the interrogations of years of liberal liars covering each other’s tracks before Congress. But we can’t write fast enough to bring to light the bottomless dishonesty of those professional politicians. Years of practice have made them fine-artists at feeding liberal news reporters the necessary linguistic fodder to warp their lies into plausible statements of confusion at news time. Hillary Clinton, dodging Congress’ tracing her responsibilities in the Benghazi abortion, flails her hands in the air and rants ” … what difference does it make?!” entirely because she flat ran out of excuses. And honestly, when it comes to Hillary Clinton what difference do ANY of her illicit or illegal activities make? Obviously none at all to anyone who is afraid of the Clinton machine. Lying Obama accidentally confirmed his knowledge of her secret and illegal computer system. And not a charge has been filed. But a ruined Paul Manafort has been thrown into solitary confinement (‘for his own protection’) while a lighthearted Robert Mueller and company look for other ways to drag out a fairytale investigation that should never have started. Meanwhile illegal aliens who commit serious crimes are released into our towns and cities under the fabulous “catch and release” policy that applies only to them. If only Paul Manafort were an illegal alien!

Nevertheless, the good-natured, hard-working, law-abiding and taxpaying right will continue to take it on the chin. And the Clintons, the Obamas and other of the left’s weirdos like Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Al Green, Cory Booker and so many more will continue to tickle the ears of their followings with whatever harmonizes with the hatred and anti-Trump propaganda the liberal press/tv is spouting for them. And a continuum of B and C grade actors are climbing on the Trump-hate train in order to seize some career-reviving attention for themselves. (I’m not the only one who didn’t even know Peter Fonda was still alive!) Stuff we never saw when our first and worst black president’s regime was up and running. Can you imagine Bruce Willis walking around with the bloody head of Barack Obama? Or a ‘Free Shakespeare In The Park’ production featuring Obama being lynched? It would never happen, of course. But an overweight and graying, silly old, four-eyed man such as Robert De Niro – maybe looking to further pump his restaurants – can walk on stage at an awards night and speak filth about our president and his supporters. And then, how pitiful, like a little boy, he waits for the approval of an audience full of hypocrites who are slaves to the same machinery that makes or breaks lackeys like himself who will or won’t play that game.

Since President Trump’s election, I have watched the socialist left and the lame-stream media scratch and claw trying to undo the mistakes they made in allowing Hillary’s fix to fail. So much vicious but groundless heat has been aimed at The Donald & Co. that I’m certain it’s only the grace of God, largely through the prayers of His people, which has kept that tank rolling on in the momentum of unprecedented success. But, much worse that that, I am ashamed of the people in this nation, who call themselves conservatives and/or Christians, who are distancing themselves from the left-generated ‘embarrassment’ of being a Trump supporter. It astounds me that the man who so unflinchingly defends the liberties of the people who claim to be supportive of Constitutional America and the moral foundation of the true God can, in the same pair of shoes, disenfranchise themselves from their champion. If you are not willing to wear the same stigmata that everything that is wrong with our dying America hates, then you are indeed the devil’s advocate. And you deserve the plague that will surely destroy us in the next round of prevailing liberalism.

I watched our President, Donald J Trump, yesterday as he honored the heartbroken parents of the children who have been butchered by the scum of Mexico and nations southward flooding our nation.
Many are even borrowing or stealing children as tickets to blend in with the migrating crowd. Those Third World governments certainly don’t want the outlaw ‘immigrants’ whom they have encouraged toward America, which has subsequently become the ‘Heaven-On-Earth’ for murderers, rapists, drug runners and chronic criminals of all genres. And our leftist ‘liberal’ politicos who care about nothing other than keeping a tight grip on the power, wealth and privilege their offices guarantee them, will use any sort of lying melodrama to get that rabble into what’s left of our nation. Real conservatives are entirely supportive of immigration coming in legally. The democrat/‘socialists’, on the other hand, are interested strictly in securing a voter base for themselves that will never shoot itself in the foot by casting ballots for anyone who is serious about protecting the best interests of our taxpaying citizenry. After all it is the big, clumsy, good-natured conservative faction in this country that keeps the gas and lights on so the left-guarded illegals can run free and prosper. But, one of these days, I swear that big, good-natured fella, the ARMY of conservatives here in America, will have had enough and finally reach his last straw. Then, surely he will turn and fight.

Just looked at the teev guide, and to my amusement SBS has Bowls followed by Speedweek. Great programming there.

Speedweek is one of the few things that SBS has contributed to the nation. It is where Aaron Noonan got his start. Aaron is a bit creepy, probably a virgin (with females, and maybe males) but he loves motorsport and knows everything about it, and then some.

I watched the Shannons series about the history of motorsport in Australia. It had everything – colour, action, humour, bathos, pathos, melting greasepaint.

There is a great movie in there, probably several. But, how could the Powers That Be fund a movie about a sport that is Destroying the Planet?

There was a lame mini-series about Brock a while back. As usual, they missed the big story in favour of every other consideration.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson took the mask off the ultimate goal of America’s “elites” regarding immigration — a country with no borders and “immigration without limit.”

“Without much real public debate or even discussion, the elite left has reached a conclusion on the question [of immigration],” The Daily Caller founder said on his Friday night show. “It is that America needs more immigration. Much more. Immigration without limit. We shouldn’t worry about whether the people coming here have skills that we need. Whether they are educated. Whether they can speak English even or even whether they are violent criminals. In fact we shouldn’t even try to accurately count how many are coming here or how many live within our borders. Do you disagree with that? Well, then in the words of an MSNBC commentator, you’re pure evil.”

Excellent point. Indonesia, for example, does not have refrigeration on the scale required for people to be able to buy chilled fresh meat. So, they buy live animals to be slaughtered as close as possible to customers.

It is fantastic to imagine that Indonesian buyers will buy frozen, dressed meat at many multiples of the current price. It reminds me of the enduring Green myth that jobs and wealth lost by closing mines and factories will be picked up by tourism.

My mum and indeed my dad were victims of that moment in history

Her mum and dad weren’t “victims” they were willing participants. They were perverts who traded on their own immorality for fleeting fame in a milieu with abhorrent values.
Am I being judgmental? Yes, yes I am. I live through that era. I was there. I know what it was like for some. How they revelled in their perverted sexuality and chemically enhanced bubbles. They are all dead now. Most, those of whom I have heard, died of various physical complications not usually associated with old age.
Then there were the outsiders. We were shunned as “worker drones”.

CoM, we may have met, back in the day.

Reviewing my past recently, I discovered that every member of the party house I lived in in the 1970s in Canberra is dead, from ‘lifestyle’ related causes. They died well before what the actuaralial tables would predict.

It was a weird period, lotsa fun but also a bad undercurrent. Canberra had heaps of junkies, many from the families of senior public servants who kept them out of the courts.

I still remember sitting across a table at the ANU Bar with the son of a department head, a complete nutter, in about 1976. His idea of breakfast was a couple of tabs of acid (LSD). He was showing me his collection of gun magazines.

Well, he imploded and nothing came of it. Poor chap – he was actually a nice person, but taking LSD for brekkie will do that to you.

Anyway, the market is rarely kind to this sort of thing. Let’s see if this woke restaurateur’s virtue signalling pays off. Somehow, I doubt it. The #vegansforRedHen hashtag campaign won’t bring in many new customers to make up for clientele who will decide to go elsewhere as a consequence of Sanders being booted for nothing more identifiable than being associated with a political movement that they themselves support.

It’s in DC, so I reckon it will do well.
Still don’t want to see them forced by totalitarian government to serve Sarah.

Please answer yes or no to the following question, Monty.

Should the restaurant be forced by law to serve Sarah Sanders?

  125. You’re about as libertarian/open markets supporter (on any issue) as Trotsky or Nich Gruen.

Now look here JC, some comments go beyond the pale. I reject any comparison with Nicholas Gruen.

  126. Rae

The estimation quoted at the time that the Gilliard Government capitulated to the bawling of the Inner City Greens, and closed down the trade was that ten percent of Indonesians have access to refrigeration. The other 90percent buy their beef from the wet market – beef that’s slaughtered the night before – and eat it the same day.

Old Sot. You’ve been doing a lot of drifting in and out of dreams of the past at that old folks home. As recently as last month, frozen buffalo meat from India was being thawed and sold in the Indonesian wet markets. It now comprises 20% of the wet market in direct competition with beef from Australia.

  127. Should the restaurant be made to serve Sarah by law, Monty?

Discrimination on the basis of colour, belief or creed should be illegal, so yes struth. Otherwise it is a return in America to Jim Crow laws.

  128. mh

“More than the feeling of being ignored is the feeling of — just the desperate feeling that the American public needs to really know what is going on,” said Mendoza, responding to MacCallum’s comment about them being “ignored” because of the hysteria surrounding detained migrant children. “When you have a problem like what is happening at the border you can’t start at the end result and start placing blame. You have to go back to the origin of the problem. That is what the parents, the mothers letting their children go with these smugglers and the cartel bringing these children to our borders. That is where the anger needs to be directed. It should not be directed at the United States for upholding its laws and quite frankly I’m happy that the United States was able to step in and save some of the children from the fate they were dealt and who knows what was going to happen to them?”

Wilkerson told MacCallum how her son was carjacked and killed by a illegal alien brought by his parents at the age of ten.

“He needed Josh’s truck to scrap for some money,” said Wilkerson. “He beat him in the head with a closet rod so hard it broke in four pieces. He kicked him until his spleen sliced and he strangled him over and over and over again until he didn’t breathe anymore. Then he tied him up like an animal and put him in a field and set him on fire. This is forever. I know they don’t understand the meaning of suffering. We will suffer for the rest of our lives on this Earth.”

Gibboney called President Trump a “man of tremendous integrity” who “kept his word about protecting us and giving us a voice.”

  129. Discrimination on the basis of colour, belief or creed should be illegal, so yes struth. Otherwise it is a return in America to Jim Crow laws.

It’s good then that Masterpiece Cakeshop didn’t discriminate on those grounds.

  130. Oh come on

I absolutely support this restaurant’s right to refuse service to SHS. That being said, I rather suspect that the restaurant owner will soon wish she’d just served the damn chicken. And if the place goes tits-up and its precious staff who feel a bit queasy with the Trumpenreich666 and/or are gay end up on food stamps, I’ll laugh like a drain.

I dare any of you armchair warriors (except Riccardo) to ring that left wing harridan, poppy, on 2SM and defend Trump’s border policies.

The issue is whether or not there are Cold Stores in Indonesia to store Frozen Meat from Australia.

Of course there are, whether retailers choose to sell meat in open air markets or supermarkets is their business.

  138. Confused Old Misfit

CoM, we may have met, back in the day.

Unlikely. Unless you were in North America at the time.
What depressed me about what some of my generation were experiencing is how they were able to rationalize, to themselves, their guilt over their amorality.
I am almost convinced that progressive millennials or millennial progressives if you prefer, have succeeded in accepting amorality as a state of being akin to nirvana.

  139. Mitch M.

Well, he imploded and nothing came of it. Poor chap – he was actually a nice person, but taking LSD for brekkie will do that to you.

It did become rather silly. Hallucinogens are very occasional treats. There is now an active research program to explore the use of hallucinogens in some psychopathologies. Early results are promising but early results often are. Imaging studies reveal a remarkable neocortical activation effect. Other studies highlighted increased neural plasticity. Don’t mistake that for a good thing, too many connections can quickly become a net negative.

In my youth I was visiting some friends and noticed a chap there who seemed rather odd. He was riding a bicycle with only one pedal. When I asked about him someone said he had been to Melbourne where he kept taking trips and hasn’t been the same since.

  140. Stimpson J. Cat

There are millions of people in Indonesia, that don’t live close.
They don’t have the infrastructure, to get it there, that’s why the Indians are only getting 20 percent of the Market.
Frozen meat 40 k’s away in Indonesia is like you riding across the Australian outback on your bicycle, to stick a frozen piece of meat in your back pack.
By the time you get it home it’s fucked.
There’s a reason they kill in the immediate area and it is due absolutely to the lack of refrigeration.
Any fuckwit knows it’s a lot easier to haul frozen meat than live meat.
If you can’t freeze it, you can’t kill it until you’re just about to eat it.
And then there is Halal, which they don’t trust the white devil Australians to do.
Oh, by the way, Milk doesn’t come from the supermarket either.

  145. Oh come on

The reservation would have to be extremely specific for it to be a violation of contract in the event of a refusal of service? I dunno, I could be wrong. Australia is 3rd on the list of live meat exporting countries with the vast amount of live meat going to muslim shitholes.

The left as usual have hijacked the live meat trade and turned it against Western nations when really it is an Islamic issue based on Islam’s inherent cruelty and primitive nature.

You think Indonesia islands have a national interstate like the USA.

    Fun, but gotta go.

So tell me how you reckon the distribution of meat in Indonesia happens.
We know that the cattle go straight from the boat to feedlots for fattening.

    Those feedlots ain’t small, Struth.
    I’ll ask you again.
How do you reckon Cattle from giant feedlots get from feedlot to consumer?

  200. Oh come on

Anyone who has lived in a country like Indonesia – even if only for a few months, and even in a city like Jakarta, but hasn’t had their head up their arse the entire time – knows instantly why the live cattle trade exists and how utterly preposterous the contention is that animals be slaughtered and butchered here, and the meat delivered via a refrigerated supply chain from Australia to the millions of tiny vendors that exist in that vast country.

    The sheer ignorance is breathtaking.

  201. Rae

Here you go. Straight from the moo cows mouth.

The island of Java – the most populated island in Indonesia –
accounts for the largest proportion of the country’s total beef
consumption. Australian beef, in particular, is consumed mostly
    in Greater Jakarta
    .

In Greater Jakarta, where the majority of Australian beef is
consumed, consumers generally visit multiple retail channels
from modern to traditional outlets to purchase beef. Australian
beef is also sold across a range of different retail channels in
the region, however supermarkets and hypermarkets remain
the most common places of purchase.

The expansion of modern retail to second-tier cities such as
Surabaya (the capital of East Java province), Bandung (the
capital of West Java province) and Semarang (the capital of
Central Java province) presents growth potential for Australian
beef beyond the Greater Jakarta region
    .

You cite no evidence that white men are discriminated against, because none exists. Your victim mentality is not supported by reality.

Try this (from a Prime Minister & Cabinet study) :

    STUDY
This study aimed to test the magnitude of gender and ethnic minority bias in APS shortlisting processes, and the impact of introducing a gender/ethnicity-blind approach to reviewing job applications for shortlisting purposes.
    RESULTS
The results showed that overall, de-identifying applications at the shortlisting stage does not appear to assist in promoting diversity within the APS in hiring. Overall, APS officers discriminated in favour of female and minority candidates.

There is even a beautifully produced video to make it easy to peruse.

Sarah H is a very decent person.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders’ dismissal from The Red Hen, a small Lexington, Virginia restaurant, went viral on Saturday morning — spurred first by a Facebook post from an employee and later by Sanders’ confirmation via Twitter.

What they’re saying: The restaurant’s owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, granted an interview to The Washington Post this afternoon, telling her story about why she decided to give the public face of the Trump administration the boot from her establishment.

Wilkinson received a call from her staff around 8 p.m. last night that Sanders and her family had entered the restaurant — and drove over herself to confirm the news.
“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation. I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals,” she told The Post.
After she arrived and confirmed Sanders’ identity, she asked her staff if she should ask Sanders to leave. They agreed, so Wilkinson requested that Sanders join her on the restaurant’s patio — even after her party had already ordered their main course.
“Sanders’s response was immediate, Wilkinson said: “‘That’s fine. I’ll go.'”
Sanders’ family followed her out — but offered to pay for what they had been served before leaving — though Wilkinson told them it was on the house.

The big picture: Lexington (population: 7,042) is an overwhelmingly blue small town, located smack dab in the middle of Rockbridge County, which voted 62% for Trump.

Worth noting: Sanders didn’t kick off the social media furor over her dismissal. That started this morning when a waiter there posted a now-deleted update to Facebook last night that “my owner asked her to leave.” Sanders only confirmed the confrontation in her own tweet after the story had already exploded across the Internet.

But Sanders’ relatively polite ouster hasn’t translated to the Internet’s reaction: The Red Hen’s Yelp page is currently in an Active Cleanup Alert after it’s been bombarded by 1-star and 5-star reviews all day from people on both sides of the political spectrum, bringing its average score down to 2.5 stars in the process.

Go deeper: Dining out in D.C. is getting tough for Trump officials.

While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to these news events, we do work to remove both positive and negative posts that appear to be motivated more by the news coverage itself than the reviewer’s personal consumer experience with the business.
As a result, your posts to this page may be removed as part of our cleanup process beginning Saturday, June 23, 2018, but you should feel free to post your thoughts about the recent media coverage for this business on Yelp Talk at any time.

This is all news to me.

I was a teenager and young wife in the sixties and I can honestly state that not once did I see any of the drug abuse and sexual promiscuity which was apparently rife among the Boomers. Not once!

I frequently went out alone or with friends to parties, coffee lounges, dances etc, and while the red-blooded young men tried it on at every opportunity, they took polite rebuffs very graciously.

It seems I lived a sheltered life, but I’m not alone in that. Even in the seventies, when I worked with a more liberal group – teachers, social workers, psychologists – I never encountered the greed and depravity often criticised on this blog.
