    Our workforce is skilled?

Simple question: How many trained machinists? Or, catching up to tech, how many trained CNC programers?

I once had need for a particular attachment to a piece of equipment which had never been considered by the manufacturer. Fortunately I spoke to a machinist whose work was more art. He took a measurement or two, consulted the sacred tomes, and about 5 minutes later said “Yeah, I can make that”…. and so he did. Twenty minutes later the part was installed and life was good.

I personally place good machinists very near the top of the list of ‘people I’d want around’ when society failed.

Most countries cannot pull a Donald. America’s trading partners also need the US more than the US needs them – look at the US domestic market. 350 million or so and in aggregate the wealthiest nation on earth with the highest level of technology.

Well they should change their socialist ways then.
What Trump is doing by this forceful show of market strength is exposing the weakness and pathetic socialists world wide for what they are.
    Hence Monty’s horror.

The socialist left globally, want to live off of, while criticising the USA and through many “gang ups” like the UN, have been doing so for years.
    That is stopping.
He is pulling them from the US teat, and including spending to defend Europe while they build their palaces in Brussels.
    Australia too.
We, as is all the other anglosphere nations, are too far to the left and socialist in all but name.
The days of reckoning are here and the left new it as soon as he was elected.

If it wasn’t for the left in this country, we would, should and could be a superpower.
Our resources and gifts of government that we have corrupted, should have seen us doing as well as the States.
    Population doesn’t do it.
    USA population versus China’s.

It could have been us and many other countries but the left in our countries due to a lack of a Bill of rights, and a constitution they hid from us, have wrecked the joint.
    Don’t blame Trump, Monty.
    Blame yourself and your mates.

    People still don’t get it.
    What DL did was perfect.
It allowed SHY to scream about it.
A common sense answer to her statement would have received no media attention.
This is the way to play it.
More of the country will be behind DL than against him, even if they have never heard of him before.
    Now they have.
    Thank you Sarah.

    From what?

Good to see Leyonhjelm upholding the one true value of libertarianism, which is to be as much of an arsehole as you can be at all times.

David Leyonhjelm pretends to be a libertarian.
A comment here. a youtube video there.
    Good on him.
He worked out niche to play to & he’s milking the teat hard.

Hanson has no legal leg to stand on. Leyonhjelm can say what he likes in the Senate. If Sky feature-straps what he said, that’s not his problem. Nor is it illegal to report what was said in the Senate.
Every media outlet in the country quoted him.

  20. Confused Old Misfit says:

How drunk would you have to be!

  21. Tel says:

Senator Hanson-Young also called for Senator Leyonhjelm to resign, as Tony Abbott joined calls for him to apologise for his remarks.

OK, I admit I was wrong to ever have respect for Abbott.

If Leyonhjelm says he will conditionally apologize only after SHY has openly admitted to her prior remarks and apologized to the men she insulted, then that might be a good little lesson on the concept of RECIPROCAL good manners. However a one-sided apology will only embolden the idiots.

  22. Cassie of Sydney says:

    Me too.

An undiscovered country there from whose bourne no blog commenter returns.
But your comment did prompt me to read your review (The Line from Troy to Your TV). A reminder that the present acculturation of the British people has many precedents.

    Single Touch Payroll
Single Touch Payroll is a reporting change for employers.
It starts from 1 July 2018 for employers with 20 or more employees.
You will report payments such as salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and superannuation information from your payroll solution each time you pay your employees.
Single Touch Payroll will be expanded to include employers with 19 or less employees from 1 July 2019. This is subject to legislation being passed in parliament.

P.S. Have they decided to delete the $100 note and force us all to become unsecured creditors of banks?

    Lleyenholm is as dumb as.
The assertion that “all men etc etc ” could so easily have been knocked over without the gratuitous personal insult.
Why not ask her if she means Adam Bandt, or Dicky Di Natale or … the list goes on?
If they are not included, it is not “all men” then is it, so what is your criteria.

So he really should have told SHY to stop fucking Adam Bandt and Dicky Di Natale? Now that would be escalation!!
