    I don’t need your involvement to deal with JC, Doc. That’s too easy in any case. But in this day and age of info everywhere, you would really have to be some kind of very dim witted putz to not accept that conspiracies are present in all manner of deceptions and rip offs. In fact you would have to be a complete moron to believe that . Just some examples;

    The UN
    AGW and Ruinables
    The Clinton Foundation.
    Defence Spending
    Immigration Policies.
    The MSM.
    Soros.

All weirdo conspiracy theories. Need I go on?

Sure, these buggers get together. But that’s not an Anne style conspiracy where a small number of people are planning to rule the world. It’s a collection of coalitions of the power hungry arseholes.

  5. Mark from Melbourne

I have a new working theory – that M0nty is in actual fact Rosie O’Donnell. They are of similar stature, and I’ve never seen them in a room together. Thin (evidence, not them,!), you think? Consider this

O’Donnell, who has called for Trump’s removal from office, was asked if it’s too early to call for impeachment, given that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is not yet complete.

“No, I think that the investigation will be complete soon. It would have probably been completed already had Trump sat down with him as he should have, had he any backbone or decency as a human being,” she replied. “But he doesn’t, so I think once Mueller turns in his report, everybody is going to know what Donald Trump did and then it’s going to be time to heal the country.”

When asked what crime Trump has committed that warrants impeachment, O’Donnell replied, “High crimes and misdemeanors, treason.”

A reporter mentioned that Trump and his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, have stated “collusion is not a crime.”

“I think that’s kind of a very flimsy defense and also a lie. It’s called conspiracy, and there are statutes that he broke and we’re going to all see it as soon as the Mueller probe gets released,” O’Donnell said.

I don’t know why people are upset about Alex Jones being gagged. Once it is broadly accepted that free speech can be limited for the public good it’s all over. That happened years ago. Forget about it.

I didn’t accept it. It was the compliant fraction of the populace, whatever fraction, who went along with that feelgood crap. Mustn’t hurt the feelings of minorities by saying rude things about them. And to their shame, there were prominent dzhws in the vanguard.

The Trudeau arrest is all over the news!

    Quite.

    Trudeau Charged by Ottawa Police

“Mr. Trudeau was hand-cuffed and apprehended without resistance or incident at his home and has been charged,” said Ottawa Police spokesperson James Watson at a media conference immediately following the arrest.

He should pay the bail with Trumpcoins.

  9. Snoopy

You’re lying again, Pesty. I’m not convinced that the evidence of the two most ‘celebrated’ attacks is conclusive. Not that Assad would never do it. Did I upset you somehow?

  10. DrBeauGan

  15. Geriatric Mayfly

Today’s Banking RC seemed to turn up more of the same. Fees charged for little or no service. When ASIC came sniffing around on a particular issue, there were clever acrobatics rather than conniptions. The closing scene involved lengthy argument between Counsel for NAB and the Commissioner over correspondence between ASIC and NAB , which Counsel would rather not have had aired in public. For a bear of small brain, the QC patter became a tad abstruse; but the Commish deemed its release part of his brief in letters patent. Questioning on this correspondence resumes tomorrow. Uneasy lies the head of the senior NAB accountant in the box.

EAGLES star Andrew Gaff has copped a whopping eight-week season-ending ban as it was revealed that his punch victim Andrew Brayshaw could be left with five “effectively dead” teeth.

A distraught Gaff – who pleaded guilty to the intentional, severe and high strike – maintained that he had intended to strike Brayshaw in the chest but that his young Dockers opponent planted his feet and dropped, causing him to punch him in the head.

“I just want to say I’m so, so sorry to Andrew and the Brayshaw family for the pain I’ve caused them over the last 48 hours,” he said.

“I respect the Brayshaw boys so much and the way they go about it, and I’m disappointed in my own actions and it really hurts a lot.

“The last 48 hours has probably been the toughest couple of days of my life and people that I’ve spoken to and people that have seen me in that time know the pain I’m in and how much I’m suffering.

“I see myself as a caring, gentle, and measured person and that’s why it’s disappointing so much more.

“THAT’S what we came here for.”

That’s what one of the cowardly thugs who set upon David Cassai and his mates on December 31, 2012, yelled as they ran away from the scene of the crime.

In a few mindless minutes of violence more than one life were destroyed.

The vicious, unprovoked attack left Cassai dead and his friends with serious injuries including a fractured jaw.

Those responsible for the violence, Dylan Closter, Thomas McCluskey-Sharp and Tryone Russell received the sort of pitifully lenient sentences that destroy the community’s faith in the judiciary.

Closter, who threw multiple punches and chased Cassai to deliver the final, fatal blow and reportedly “bounced on his feet like a boxer over his victim’s body” copped the stiffest sentence; nine years and three months with a six year minimum.

  85. C.L.

OK, via Rorate Caeli I now have the entire text of the pope’s newly ordered re-write of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It has one footnote; he quotes himself:

2267. Recourse to the death penalty on the part of legitimate authority, following a fair trial, was long considered an appropriate response to the gravity of certain crimes and an acceptable, albeit extreme, means of safeguarding the common good.

Today, however, there is an increasing awareness that the dignity of the person is not lost even after the commission of very serious crimes. In addition, a new understanding has emerged of the significance of penal sanctions imposed by the state. Lastly, more effective systems of detention have been developed, which ensure the due protection of citizens but, at the same time, do not definitively deprive the guilty of the possibility of redemption.

Consequently, the Church teaches, in the light of the Gospel, that “the death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person”,[1] and she works with determination for its abolition worldwide.

    —————————

[1] Francis, Address to Participants in the Meeting organized by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, 11 October 2017: L’Osservatore Romano, 13 October 2017, 5.

    —————————

The authority to overrule Pope St John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI (and the Doctors of the Church) proceeds in this undergraduate little treatise from two well-known hierarchs of contemporary leftism: “increasing awareness” and “new understanding.” To assert that, consequently, the Church teaches capital punishment is always and everywhere illicit is a contrived and arrogant falsehood. The premier theologian of doctrinal development – the Ven. Cardinal Newman – makes very clear in his famous work on the subject that sudden diktats with no organic, antecedent dialectics cannot normally be regarded as authentic development. Additionally, only in a minority of non-Western jurisdictions is detention (or even conviction of wrongdoers) preponderantly reliable over time, as regards public safety. This is the sure sign that this entire exercise is designed principally to troll and bully the United States.

    Define Conspiracy.
    1. a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
“a conspiracy to destroy the government”
    2. the action of plotting or conspiring.

Note the use of the word “secret”in the definition. There’s not much secret in what’s going on around us at present. Au Cointreau, as people here say.

what is going is no conspiracy whatsoever. Just normal self-interest. in many cases with good intentions. Which makes it actually worse. If there were a conspiracy, you could just charge the (main) conspirators with crimes or sue them. But the problem is that it is largely natural evolution of a wealthy (and spoiled) society, and specifically its government system, rather than a few evil persons. Thus required changes are systemic, which is much much harder to make.

    http://thehill.com/policy/technology/400526-anonymous-vows-to-take-down-expose-qanon

The hacking collective Anonymous is pledging to expose the people behind the “QAnon” conspiracy theory.

The anarchist hacking group slammed the QAnon conspiracy as potentially dangerous and driven by a “brainless political agenda” in a video posted Sunday to what is widely considered the most reliable Anonymous Twitter account.

“We will not sit idly by while you take advantage of the misinformed and poorly educated,” the group said in the video, which was posted with the hashtags #OpQ and #OpQAnon.

The video depicts various figures with Anonymous masks acting out certain aspects of the QAnon conspiracy against a constant backdrop of the letter “Q.”

The video claims that Anonymous “knew who was responsible for Q” and thought it was funny at first. However, the group now believes the conspiracy theory has gone too far.

“Someone is going to get hurt, so we have to put our foot down and start some shit with you all,” the group said in the video.

QAnon shifted into the spotlight after numerous attendees at President Trump’s rally in Florida last week held Q-shaped cutouts and posters alluding to the conspiracy theory.

The wide-ranging and vague “QAnon” touches on a number of popular conspiracy theories: Democrats and prominent Hollywood figures are orchestrating underground pedophile rings; special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe is a front for investigating 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and former President Obama for their ties to said rings; and hundreds of sealed indictments may have already been handed down in the Clinton case.

The theory was started by a person on the message board 4chan last year claiming to be a high-ranking security official in the Trump administration. The individual or individuals goes by the identity of “Q” and has continued to fan the theory on online platforms.

A number of conservative figures have pushed back against the conspiracy theory on Twitter in recent days, including Michael Flynn Jr., the son of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Anonymous has been adamantly opposed to Trump since he announced his candidacy in 2015. The group declared “cyber war” on Trump in March 2016, directing its followers to take down the then-candidate’s websites.

For a conspiracy to become known it must first be exposed. Where does this exposure come from?Do you see an objective MSM anywhere? No you don’t because the MSM is conspiring with those who benefit from keeping most people ignorant?

For example why do you think Trump has been working so hard to reform the judiciary, expunge the DoJ and FBI of deep staters , leftists, activists and traitors? If prosecutions are to be brought and STICK the process itself must be cleansed and able to perform its intended function.

Of course it was. Conspiracy is an act. It’s not a theory or term. To conspire means taking action. If for example if you as a prosecutor choose to slow walk an investigation, covertly leak the details to the compliant press to subvert it or arouse public opinion in some way – this is a conspiracy to achieve a desired outcome. You say conspiracy doesn’t exist. Idiotic.

  160. DrBeauGan

It’s never been a conspiracy, they are taught this ideology in university courses. The real culprits are/were successive conservative governments who never opposed this or even noticed it

ROME, February 5, 2018 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Pope Francis has selected a Portuguese “priest-poet” to preach at his 2018 Lenten retreat who is an open promoter of the “critical theology” of a Spanish nun who defends the legalization of abortion and government recognition of homosexual “marriage” and adoptions.

Father José Tolentino Calaça de Mendonça, vice rector of the Catholic University of Lisbon, wrote the introduction to the Portuguese translation of “Feminist Theology in History,” by Teresa Forcades, whom the BBC calls “Europe’s most radical nun.”

In the introduction to Forcades’ work, Tolentino de Mendonça tells the reader that Jesus didn’t leave any rules or laws to mankind, an idea that he approvingly applies to Forcades’ “critical theology.”

Day 2 at Kalgoorlie’s Diggers and Dealers annual gabfest and pissup.
Another interesting day of presentations especially from the major gold producers. They are pretty unanimous on the bright future of gold production in Oz, with several green fields operations either underway or about to pour their first bullion bars.

A lot of discussion about the future prospects of battery minerals like lithium, graphite and nickel.
Depends on who you listen to as to whether the current excitement is a “flash in the pan” or a longer term wealth producer. I sense the mood as a little sceptical of the long term future, the quick turnover merchants seem pretty bullish, but money men can be notorious hucksters.

I dodged some of the day’s yakking to head bush to watch and have a play with some ultra high tech drones.
These things are a world apart from the little toys that you see buzzing round suburban parks, weighing in at around 30 kilos, multiple engines and some seriously high tech attachments available such as hi-res camera and video recorders, magnetometers, radar measuring, laser guided mapping, and some gadgets that wouldn’t be out of place on a space shuttle. Huge potential for operators in exploration, surveying and prospecting, not to mention flying one is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
Career prospects for youngsters in the commercial drone field, methinks, but as usual, the cold, dead hand of government stifles innovation with a commercial drone pilots licence costing around $3-4000.

Steak dinner tonight, typical Goldfields style, about half an acre of bloody red meat, about a kilo of hot chips, and a salad you could fit on a saucer. Not big on veggies or poofy salads in this town. All washed down with a couple of gallons of very drinkable red plonk.
Back to my delightful digs in the donga in beautiful downtown Boulder for the evening, after a couple of cleansing ales at the local pub.
Big day tomorrow, more presentations from the big boys who shovel and sell dirt for a living, followed by the gala dinner and closing addresses and awards presentation.

Night, Cats. I will refrain from mentioning bedbugs lest I awaken the little beasties hiding in the donga’s luxurious bedding.

FB offers a service. Whether that service overlaps with a right such as prescribed by the 1st amendment depends on where the user who is subject to banning is located. I would say someone like Jones could litigate against FB for infringing his 1st amendment rights.

In shitholes like Australia however where nothing like a 1st amendment right exists someone who is banned for being a conservative would have to be more creative. For instance in Capital Television Pty Ltd v Commonwealth, the High Court found a constitutionally guaranteed freedom of political discussion. However, later cases narrowed the protection offered, but have also made it clear that even at its narrowest the freedom encompasses political discussion but only during election periods. That narrows the right considerably and unless FB banned during an election you might not have much comeback.

In a word, no. There’s no way to even know if Q is one person or more than one, though there’s speculation among the credulous that he or she is actually a team of people. BuzzFeed News has actually uncovered a new conspiracy theory growing off of this one: Namely, that QAnon is a prank being pulled on Trump supporters by a bunch of leftists. The impetus for this is a 1999 Italian novel called Q written by Luther Blissett. Now, Luther Blissett doesn’t exist. It’s the name used by a network of leftists and anarchists—covering artists, activists, and agitators—in Italy in the ’90s. The plot of Q is weirdly similar to the conspiracy that Q is peddling online, and that’s driving speculation that Q’s claims are just an attempt to make the right look completely unhinged.

That said, Trump is evil because he proposed a space force and *we all know* that the earth is flat as a pancake.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Strategic Plan For America – Court Document

The following is the official document from a 1991 meeting which outlines the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic goals for North America. The document was entered as evidence in the 2008 Holy Land Terror Funding Trial. Federal investigators found the document in the home of Ismael Elbarasse, a founder of the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, during a 2004 search. Elbarasse was a member of the Palestine Committee, which the Muslim Brotherhood had created to support Hamas in the United States.

The original document in Arabic follows the English translation.

We have highlighted in yellow the following quotes which are of particular significance. The page numbers noted below correspond to the page numbers in the center of the bottom of each page in the document).

    Page 4:

“Enablement of Islam in North America, meaning: establishing an effective and a stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood which adopts Muslims’ causes domestically and globally, and which works to expand the observant Muslim base, aims at unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts, presents Islam as a civilization alternative, and supports the global Islamic State wherever it is.”

“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers…”

And Max, you can tell that to you friar and priest from me. I am not a Catholic but there are Catholics in my family and I am bloody tired of seeing the next gen of Catholics fed bullshit by both their schools and their priests. I didn’t think ‘thou shalt be an imbecile’ was part of the deal.

I think an important thing to remember about the Q postings is that they are for public viewing, friends and enemies alike. I don’t think for a second the Q posts are simply to rally the faithful. Trump does enough of that by himself. That would mean if Q is what he/she purports to be then there must be a certain amount of disinformation being put out directed at the sewer dwellers. Psy Ops.

Also there is no conspiracy because these people did not conspire with one another. Many of them do not know each other. They are doing what is best for them and their ‘like minded people’.

But I understand why it is tempting to call it a conspiracy, the doing of some evil guys, the swamp etc. then it is tempting to do what trump is doing and think you can drain the swamp by firing people, replacing judges etc. In fact we have to ask ourselves as to how we got here, what caused it. Hard questions have to be asked about the system of government and of elections that led to it. These are hard questions, but they are systemic and not about personalities.

This pope is not much mentioned at parish level,

At both my local parishes he pops up favourably, always courtesy of the same two priests.

One is a Franciscan friar who holds a position at a nearby small theological college which works into every course it offers a good nagging about refugees.

The other is a priest who is big on ‘community’ , who wants us to call him by his first name,

I think I know them max and the parish. Unless there is a multitude of them.
