Hark – I suggest you read Galatians, especially the first chapter.

  2. Elizabeth (Lizzie) B.

P is behaving in a particularly Grigorae-like manner today.
On the hotline, getting notes? Or just washing socks?

Tell me I’m wrong, please P.

  3. twostix

    America don’t give a shit about WW1.

to them it was a retarded continental european war between weirdo kings and dead empires.

Western bugmen don’t care either, the only reason NPCmonty is thinking about it right now is so he can get his daily dose of forced HA. HA. HA.

  4. Having cops kill people willy-nilly is barely more excusable than the general public killing people willy-nilly.

    Nobody suggests willy nilly.
Mortal threat to the public. Go for it. (In the current case, that was already ticked)

Note, cops are prone to kill willy nilly when the justice system (or police hierarchy) does not support legal policing.

  5. Rae

For all his “interfaith dialogue” happy-clappiness, I’ve never heard Pope Francis once mention Asia Bibi, let alone ask for prayers for her.

    Yes. Very telling indeed, Gab.

    Yes. Yes. Telling indeed.

You beat me to it, P. Good work.

  6. Are you trying to tell me the American Secret Service had no plan B in case of light mizzle? Don’t come the raw prawn, Gez.

They did have a Plan B.
    This was enacted.

    Though not a good look.
This ceremony, in Frankistan, would have had the Known Wolf battalions salivating.
The SS would have been scared out of it’s super-cautious pants.

  7. Are you trying to tell me the American Secret Service had no plan B in case of light mizzle? Don’t come the raw prawn, Gez.

    C’mon Monty.
You’re saying Trump deliberately risked pissing off the military and veterans just to avoid a rainy trip.
I’m not a fan of Trump’s style but he’s not that thick.

  8. Elizabeth (Lizzie) B.

I’m in Dallas tomorrow. I guess creatures taking potshots at Presidents is on my mind.

We expect your full report from the Grassy Knoll, Calli.
And the sixth floor bookstore window. In clear line of sight?
Hang on though. It’s so popular now you probably have to book months ahead. 🙂

  9. twostix

For some reason Monty has decided to stay away from the Broward thread.

Has he said anything about his beloved antifa forming a mob and terrorising a mun and children in their home?

Whenever he avoids something, it’s because he supports it.

  10. Gab

Kudos to Trump for getting the anti-war leftards wanting to honour those who died in WWI.

No other President has ever been able to do that.

  11. Steve trickler

    Eleanór na Rún.

A definitive translation is not set in stone. A very old dialect.

  12. Promoter Dean Lonergan says the bold move will only proceed if Mundine agrees, saying if he doesn’t “it will show he is still a bigot”.

The utter bastardry of the urban bugman is nauseating.

  14. It never ceases to amaze me, how easily Monty can take over a thread.
It’s like watching the Pied Piper leading the mice over the cliff, while he plays his merry tune.

    FFS just ignore the prick.

Here’s the ABC’s contribution to Remembrance day:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-11-11/world-war-one-what-if-it-happened-today/10477874

A ‘clever’ little conceit about what four ‘typical’ 21st Century ‘Aussies’ might have experienced had they had been caught up in WW1.

There is nothing particularly original, intelligent or creative about it and the shifts between now and then are somewhat confusing.

But it does feed the standard ‘progressive’ line on WW1 – a line that was flogged with particular vigour in the ABC documentary of Australia and WW1 of a few years back – namely, that Australia pre-WW1 was an emerging brave, egalitarian, pro-women, pro-worker and generally caring and sharing social democracy and that the war turned us all into a bunch of violent, power-worshipping misogynist wife-beaters.

The egalitarian workers paradise stuff is, of course, crap.

  16. ZK2A:

Voters have already rejected one model for a republic, why is this necessary?

Because it wasn’t the answer the ruling classes wanted.
Note well that this time, the Traitor in Chief is only offering a Plebiscite – not a Referendum.
I wonder why that would be?

  17. Black Ball

  18. rickw

Shooting Islamic terrorists on the spot is not the best policy.

    How so?

If they’re islamic terrorists then by definition they are making threats to injure or kill the public or have already done so.

  19. Zulu Kilo Two Alpha

I’ve been there, I reckon it’s not such a difficult shot.

Lee Harvey Oswald was classified as an “expert” rifleman, in the U.S.M.C.

  20. rickw

Lee Harvey Oswald was classified as an “expert” rifleman, in the U.S.M.C.

The road turns away slightly from the book depository and starts to run downhill as well. I don’t think he needed to worry about leading at the point where he started shooting. The first shot is a miss, to much thinking about what he’s doing, after the first shot, his training kicks in.

  21. egg_

Farken Slow is hanging around again?
    Didn’t GetUp! himself?

  22. rickw

Although the distance from Oswald’s supposed location to JFK’s car was never more than about 90 yards (82 metres) during the shooting, several factors increased the difficulty of the act:

    the presidential limousine was moving away from the gunman’s location;

    Almost directly away.

    the car was obscured for some of the time by an oak tree;

    Where was this tree?

    all the shots had to have been fired within a very short space of time;

Yes, the M38 has very light recoil

and, most importantly, the only rifle that could have been used was awkward and unpredictable.

The M38 is far from the world’s greatest rifle, but it’s far from “unpredictable”, most people’s criticism of the Carcano originates from surplus ammunition that had a phenomenally poor shelf life.

  23. Rae

Lee Harvey Oswald was classified as an “expert” rifleman, in the U.S.M.C.

That’s because he was in fact an expert rifleman. Originally qualified as a sharpshooter, then later as a marksman.

  24. Anthony

What’s this I’m hearing about Trump blowing off a WW1 remembrance because of light rain? Talk about low energy. He is an international joke.

Actually, he was in the process of attending when Air Force One came under fire and he had to run from the tarmac.

  25. egg_

    the presidential limousine was moving away from the gunman’s location;

Many eyewitnesses say the car stopped for some time*, and it already had a crack in the windshield, prior.

*The Zapruder film was not the only film/photos taken of the event.

  26. Mick Gold Coast QLD

From Steve trickler at 11:37 am:

    “Not acceptable.

This took too long to remedy. An air traffic controller had a stroke at Vegas. The pilots picked it up quick smart…..what the fuck were her colleagues doing? Ultimately, they reacted.”

Curiosity got the better of me, I listened to that evolve and it was seriously frightening. It took 12 minutes for the air traffic controller’s end to take back control of something the pilots in the air were onto within 3 or 4 minutes. She was near incoherent by then but no-one in the air traffic control building knew that for another 8 or 9 minutes!

What sort of crude, antiquated system has a single operator working alone with no-one anywhere near her if she drops dead, leaving approaching and departing planes to work things out for themselves? McCarran Airport has 500 average daily commercial flights and 48,500,000 passengers per annum – not the sort of place where one turns to air traffic control for payroll savings.

The same thing happened in the Pilbara last week when a 3 kilometre iron ore train traveled 90 kilometres, at up to 110 kilometres per hour, without its driver after he hopped out to inspect a wagon and it took off on him. BHP eventually derailed it from a remote operations centre in Perth. An offsider could have stayed on board with his foot on the brake. Or something.

Rio Tinto commenced autonomous train haulage over a 280 kilometre distance from Tom Price to the coast in mid year, controlled from Perth. On site truck haulage has moved in that direction as well.

These sort of operations used be weighed down by volumes of instructions on risk management and by hundreds of kilograms of blokes paid good money to manage it. A lot of it was lip service and evidently still is.

  27. DrBeauGan

Today’s minute of silence marks the centenary of the quenching of the cultural funeral pyre. After that, it’s ashes in the wind.

Calli has it right. Very sad. Those brave men threw us the torch as they died, and their heirs dropped it and let it flicker out. We have let cowards rule, and will.pay the price.

  28. Black Ball

Just flicking through the channels and something on SBS Viceland caught my attention. 2 young, I suppose journalists in Brazil interviewing a serial killer of same sex relationships. The interviewers are themselves homo. Needless to say, the sweat pouring from the bloke asking the questions is copious.

  29. P

    Today’s minute of silence

I always thought it was two minutes silence to be observed on Remembrance Day.
It was throughout my school days.

  30. Nick

IN A world first, gay and transgender people will join young women carrying round cards for the upcoming super fight between Jeff Horn and Anthony Mundine at Suncorp Stadium.

What fkg armchair lame brain posted this lot of swill?

Moron, are you related to the other dickhead who posts here, mUnty? It would not have been a willy-nilly kill you softcock. This moslem POS had already killed one person, set off a car bomb and was attacking people and cops randomly with a knife. His intent to kill had already been displayed and his intentions to kill more were self evident. Even bystanders could see the sensible thing to do was to “just shoot him”.

I agree with those who said he should have been red misted ON THE SPOT. And if the cops on patrol in Melbourne CBD can’t handle the task then DON’T PUT THEM THERE. All cops in CBD’s should be armed with appropriate weaponry and training to shoot to kill immediately in the event a fkg nutter starts killing people with intent. The cops job is to protect US, the taxpaying innocents and families going about our lawful business. NOT to defend our traitorous Govt against nasty media coverage or pander to leftgreen civil rights freaks. They should have killed the moslem c**t stone dead in the first few seconds.

  32. Roger

What fkg armchair lame brain posted this lot of swill?

Yes, perhaps the police could have reasoned with the knife wielding maniac and failing that, found a naughty step for him to sit upon and reflect.

Terrorising? Nah it was just some belated trick or treating! But seriously it was 10 minutes of chanting with a tambourine player, some half finished graffiti, and a knock on the door two times- no damage to the door despite what Tucker says. That was it. But the right wing outrage machine goes into overdrive. Where was the outrage when Maxine Waters house was targeted last year by Omar Navarro and his mob of bullies. I thought private homes and families were meant to be off limits? Where was the outrage when Matt Rivitz was doxxed and his wife got threats on her private number, as well as the synagogue they attended with their son? Oh that’s right the doxxing happened on the website Tucker founded. He is a hypocritical piece of shit, and as long as he continues to be a propagandist for those advocating violence and hatred, he or his family deserve no peace.

  43. P

It can be either 1 minute or 2 minutes, neither is locked in stone.

    Thank you.

I’ve now looked it up here:
“In 1997, the Governor-General issued a proclamation urging all Australians to observe the one minute silence on Remembrance Day. It is also still appropriate for two minutes’ silence to be observed.”

  44. Old School Conservative

For those saying America think less about WWI than WWII, here is Victor David Hanson’s take:

“The late-entering United States did not declare war on Germany and Austria-Hungary until April 1917. Six months later, America had still not begun to deploy troops in any great number.
Then, suddenly, everything changed. By summer 1918, hordes of American soldiers began arriving in France in unimaginable numbers of up to 10,000 doughboys a day.”

  45. Shooting Islamic terrorists on the spot is not the best policy. If we’re going to kill people rather than burden the public with the additional cost of imprisonment and rehab, we should rehash the whole debate over reinstating capital punishment generally. Having cops kill people willy-nilly is barely more excusable than the general public killing people willy-nilly. It’s not that life is sacred (both war and abortion are the best options under some circumstances), it’s just that there has to be some consistent rule and application process to decide who is killed.

I’m quite sick of this rubbish. He was not summarily executed, he was shot whilst attacking uniformed officers with a knife, having already killed one civilian and injured two others. The rule being, if there is an imminent threat to life, the police as well as any civilian, has the right to defend themselves and use force sufficient to stop the threat even if it means killing the source of that threat. See how this threat immediately identifies who may be killed? See how the rule (self-defense) is not merely a rule but a relevant moral justification.

Please, it’s 2018, this sort of cuckserativism will no longer be tolerated or allowed to pass unchallenged.

On Monday, Navarro held a protest outside Rep. Waters’ California home. He was joined by about a dozen citizens as well as a mariachi band.

Gosh! Not the threatening, bullying mariachi band… that’s too much. Strangely no vandalism, no smashing doors, hmmm, must be Republican or something.

He was drawing attention to the fact that Mad Maxine lives well outside her electorate and in far better conditions than most of the people she expects to vote for her. It was a respectful and peaceful protest, not goons running around in black hoods. Big difference, which I’m sure you know but you pretend otherwise.

    Yes.

A couple of mates from Cape Town explained the differences between the Lindt Cafe siege solution here and there. Many adults males have completed national service and carry licensed hand guns. They are both capable and prepared to act and their intervention is welcomed by the police there because they are overwhelmed by the amount of crime by the local chimps.

Briefly, they suggested one can walk in, throw some chairs about as a distraction, advance and shoot (a bit like the shopping trolley fellow’s effort in Bourke Street). If it is all too confronting for Blondie Public it is up to the politicians to tell her to grow up.

The Queensland Police Service has arrested a 50-year-old woman following a complex investigation into the alleged contamination of strawberries in Queensland in September.
After the discovery of punnets of strawberries contaminated with needles, Queensland authorities notified the public of the safety risk on September 12.
The QPS coordinated a national investigative response with multiple government, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
A police taskforce was established with officers from the State Crime Command coordinating the investigation together with detectives in a number of police districts in Queensland.

Nothing new to me there, Tel. And so you should also already know that the excuse given by the head of intelligence as to why there was no intervention on Monis was the most amazingly audacious fib given what had been revealed years earlier by Snowden. Supposedly it was because Monis was not estimated to be in “the top 400” highest risk subjects. Right. As one example, the XKeyscore system is tracking, on any given day, over 1 million people worldwide. But we’re supposed to believe 400 is the subject tracking limit for Australians. And I’ve got a 500m long coat hanger to sell.

Anyhow, the lack of police intervention is not the reason that the Martin Place Siege happened. Some government intervention could have stopped it, but the reason it happened is some people believe in orthodox Islam and eventually some of them decide it’s not training day any more, as sure as night follows day.

The point being that shooting to disable is preferable in my opinion because of the martyr factor, but in these circumstances I’ll accept a killshot too.

Really? So these comments did not occur?

The deportation option I also easily agree with. Deporting the family won’t stop Mo’ Jr. from wanting to avenge his dead daddy, but at least he’ll have to get past Border Force and the Navy to do it. (Although under the imminent Electricity Bill government that might be as simple as turning up.)

The absence of a condemnation of the Omar Navarro stunt. And the continued presence of the Daily Caller, after it facilitated the doxxing of Matt Rivitz

Still not a shred of evidence.

It is odd how right wing snowflakes equate challenging politicians with violence. They don’t like to have their ideas challenged these days. Must respect authority!

The problem is that rightwing views and ideas are the only thing on the stage worth looking at. Identity politics, groveling to illegal aliens, throwing money to more welfare just isn’t attractive anymore because it doesn’t work.

Are you advocating for violence against your ideological opponents?

Tell you how I would answer that. If you came to my door, or close to my door and began shouting abuse, I baseball bat your head so hard it would split like a coconut. So no, I’m not advocating random violence at all 🙂

    Defend Waters advice, fuckhead.

What a piece of work she is:

Rep. Waters has spent thirty-seven years in office—many of those years as head of the Congressional Black Caucus—promising to make life better for constituents in economically ravaged South Central Los Angeles.

What do the denizens of her district have to show for it? Staggering levels of persistent unemployment, poverty, and gang violence as the 25th anniversary of the L.A. riots looms this coming weekend.

What does Rep. Waters have to show for it?

She’s earned a lifetime of left-wing adoration for whitewashing the deadly riots as a “rebellion,” excusing the week-long shooting, looting, and arson orgy as “a spontaneous reaction to a lot of injustice and a lot of alienation and frustration,” and coddling Crips and Bloods gang members—with whom she performed the electric slide as part of her “fearless support and understanding of young people and their efforts at self-expression.”

I covered Rep. Waters in the early 1990s as an editorial writer and columnist at the Los Angeles Daily News. Her federally-funded “Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center” was a gang-infested boondoggle.

She embraced Damian Williams, the infamous thug who hurled a chunk of concrete at white truck driver Reginald Denny and performed a victory dance over the bloodied innocent bystander.

And she and her family personally profited from her rise to racially demagogic power.

She owns a tony mansion in predominantly white Hancock Park, several miles outside her congressional district.

She secured an ambassadorship to the Bahamas for her husband, a former pro football player and car salesman whose main qualification was having traveled to the island for a vacation.

Her daughter, Karen, has scooped up nearly $650,000 in payments from Mama Waters’ slate mailer operation for her federal campaign committee since 2006, the Washington Free Beacon reported this week. And Mama Waters owes her well-heeled daughter an additional $108,000……………………………………………….

The newfound Maxine Waters Fan Club might want to know that Waters’ government cronyism and self-dealing earned her a “Most Corrupt member of Congress” designation from the left-wing Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington five times—in 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2017.

Comey had “Sensitive” FBI Emails on Private Gmail Account

At least seven messages on former FBI Director James Comey’s private Gmail account were so sensitive that the Department of Justice declined to release them.
The New York Post exclusively obtained 156 of 1,200 pages of messages in which the former FBI director and his chief of staff James Rybicki discussed government business. DOJ refused to hand over seven of the messages because they “disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions.” Another 363 pages were withheld because they contained privileged FBI communications or out of personal privacy concerns.

The messages–which span from 2013 to 2017, with many highly redacted–were obtained by the Post after conservative watchdog, Cause of Action Institute, filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit seeking Comey’s work-related emails from his private account.

The emails–according to the Post–show that the former FBI director used his personal email throughout the Clinton email investigation.

Bourke St attacker’s family says he’s not a terrorist

The family of the Bourke St attacker says he’s not a terrorist, rather a man who was “crying for help”.

A steady stream of family and friends visited the family home of Hassan Khalif Shire Ali on Sunday to pay their respects, with some bringing groceries.

His family today said Shire Ali had been suffering from a mental illness for years but had been deteriorating in recent months.

“He has seen a psychologist and psychiatrist but stopped as his paranoia and hallucinations led him to believe they’re ‘after him’,” they said in a letter to Nine News.

“Please stop turning this into a political game. This isn’t a guy who has any connections with terrorism but was simply crying for help.”

One friend said Shire Ali had been trying to seek help, especially to cope with his substance abuse.

Other friends said he had been in contact with family, including his wife and two-year-old boy, before the incident.

Friend of the family Sheikh Isse Musse said the family was trying to comprehend the consequences of Shire Ali’s actions.

If he wasn’t a terrorist, he seems to be a bloody good imitation of one.

I’m watching Chris Kenny on Sky and his entire panel agreed that the ABC journalist in the Foley scandal should have been allowed to remain anonymous. This is Sky, not the ABC and they all thought the accused has no right to know who is accusing him.

This is lower than even what Kavanaugh had to contend with, it’s on a par with what the American universities are doing to their male students.

Not my intention to smear anybody, Tel, and I have not. Possibly I misinterpreted the first quote, however you are only disputing 1 out of 6 quotes, so I think substantially the point remains.

As I know nothing of wielding weapons, I accepted the cop did whatever they thought was best, and I also accept the advice of a later commentator that it is practically impossible to “shoot to disable” unless the arms and legs are very still. So it is interesting that general concealed carrying is still advocated for, and it’s not possible to shoot to disable in these cases, and yet I’m not supposed to put 2 and 2 together and conclude that this is effectively advocating shooting to death on sight?

I accept describing such responses as a death “squad” implies an organised gang, which is really not implied in half of the comments cited. Sorry if I upset anyone in my hasty broad-brush use of colourful language there. I see far worse paraded in these forums every week so I wouldn’t think much upset has been caused.

And yes I still think the judicious process of law is a good idea. The largest mass murder in Australia’s postwar history was referred to the courts, yet the chief suspect could have easily been shot dead had they not been running around on fire at the time. We have until now not killed murderers on sight as the first preference. The question remains as to why suspected terrorism should be given special treatment.

If the policy is to be changed to shoot on sight, that is necessarily a precursor for debating who should be pulling the trigger. The appeal of concealed carry increases if the policy is shoot on sight, but there is a lot any potential Good Samaritan CCH holder has to be sure of (like will they be thrown in jail too) before we can make short-circuiting the legal process a normal affair that doesn’t screw Good Samaritans too.

To be fair, I think it is easier to make the concealed carry argument in cases of terrorism, but less easy in other cases, because the goal of the terrorist requires getting a lot of witnesses to their violence which therefore puts the casual Good Samaritan on safe legal ground for use of weapon with lethal outcome.

I was in a doctor’s waiting room on Friday watching on TV when Foley resigned. Most of the patients in the waiting room were women and so was the receptionist. The reactions were very interesting, one asked why now, what was she waiting for. Another woman said there goes his marriage and family. The receptionist said the accuser just destroyed Foley’s life and livelihood.

I don’t even like Foley but I still think he should be permitted to defend himself. The media en masse are reacting as if women would never lie, come to think of it journalists don’t have a good track record in that respect either.

Presidential Proclamation on Veterans Day, 2018
    VETERANS
    Issued on: November 9, 2018

On November 11, 1918, the United States and its allies signed an armistice with Germany to end hostilities in World War I. The Great War exacted a tremendous toll on our Nation. More than 100,000 American service members perished in the war, and the lives of countless others were forever altered. In 1919, to honor and memorialize these sacrifices, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed November 11 as Armistice Day, the precursor to Veterans Day, expressing “solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service.” This year, as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, we again salute the generations upon generations of American heroes who have sacrificed so much to secure the blessings of freedom for their fellow Americans.

As we mark the centennial of the Armistice, we remember the countless sacrifices that our country’s heroic veterans have made throughout our history to preserve our liberty and prosperity. Our veterans embody the values and ideals of America and the timeless virtue of serving a greater cause. With respect for, and in recognition of, the contributions our service members have made to the advance of peace and freedom around the world, the Congress has provided (5 U.S.C. 6103(a)) that November 11 of each year shall be set aside as a legal public holiday to honor our Nation’s veterans. As Commander in Chief of our heroic Armed Forces, I humbly thank our veterans and their families for their selflessness and love of country as we remember their service and their sacrifice. Today, and every day, we pay tribute to those who have worn the uniform, and we pray for the safety of all currently serving in harm’s way.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim November 11, 2018, as Veterans Day. I encourage all Americans to recognize the fortitude and sacrifice of our veterans through public ceremonies and private thoughts and prayers. I call upon Federal, State, and local officials to display the flag of the United States and to participate in patriotic activities in their communities. I call on all Americans, including civic and fraternal organizations, places of worship, schools, and communities to support this day with commemorative expressions and programs.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this ninth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-third.

“UPDATE: We’ve found him! What an absolutely incredible human. We had a long chat on the phone today and we’re even more proud of him. Our hero is humble as can be and had no idea about this fundraiser. We’ll be catching up tomorrow to hand over his donations. He is amazing”

On November 9 2018 an incredible man named Michael Rogers from Melbourne, now known as ‘Trolleyman’, put his own life at risk to stop a terrorist who was on a rampage. Mr Rogers bravely shoved a shopping trolley at the terrorist in an attempt to assist police in his capture.

We’ve since learned that our hero ‘Trolleyman’ homeless and that his phone was destroyed in the incident. We believe his efforts deserve a reward that can really help him out.

We’re a registered charity, ABN 84487263603, (Melbourne Homeless
Collective) supporting people experiencing homelessness, and all funds donated to this campaign will go directly to Mr Rogers to help get him back on his feet.

He’s a hero in our eyes and he can do what he feels best with any funds he receives. He risked his own life that day for nothing in return and you can’t put a price on that.

*Update: we apologise that we’re updating by editing but unfortunately due to some glitch I can’t get the actual update button to work.

We’re absolutely blown away by everyone’s generosity and spirit in helping our hero ‘Trolleyman’, get back on his feet. We don’t actually have a set target to reach but due to the incredible generosity we’ve seen so far we’ll keep increasing the total accordingly. We’ve far surpassed our original goal. Let’s aim for the sky. Our hero absolutely deserves it.

Thank hou you so much everyone!

Okay, it says his phone was destroyed in the melee. How did they find him and how did they speak to him over the phone?

If it’s true, how much is the trolley dude getting? Is it 100%? They they are a registered charity, but who the fuck are they really?

I certainly don’t think your suspicion is misplaced. The ‘homeless’ tag is probably a little too encompassing.
    1. The ‘homeless’ guy who begs next to Pelligrinis on Bourke St isn’t homeless per se but comes in to beg each day, more out of boredom and to supplement an income.
    2. Drug abuse such as Ice is rampant among those in. Melbourne sleeping rough, that’s where begging money often goes. That, grog and pokies.
    3. Real homeless, and they exist, don’t have the self esteem to beg
    4. Some actually enjoy the freedom it brings
    5. Some work as tradies on building sites during the day, sleeping rough at night.

Either way, there are real homeless. Mostly with mental and relationship problems. Guys , mainly who have self medicated with alcohol or medication, have compassion though, they are around.

    Australian’s are stupid. Confirmed.

Research commissioned by Planet Ark for National Recycling Week found more than 90 per cent of Australians believe recycling is the right thing to do and 59 per cent have a high level of trust in kerbside recycling.
    >
    >
The report says there has probably never been a more challenging time for managing Australia’s waste after China’s National Sword policy effectively banned 99 per cent of the recyclable material previously imported from Australia from the beginning of 2018.

Although some paper, cardboard and plastics are now being imported to other Asian countries, other recyclables are being stockpiled in Australia while new markets are found and “unfortunately a proportion may end up in landfill”.

The report says that in most states it was not economically viable to send recyclable materials to landfill due to waste levies, which were as high as $141 a tonne in metropolitan NSW.

Scott Morrison has failed to arrest the slide in support for the government, with his own approval rating taking another hit in the wake of Malcolm Turnbull’s tirade against those who plotted his downfall.

An exclusive Newspoll conducted for The Australian shows the Coalition falling back another point to trail Labor 55-45 on a two-party-preferred basis.

It is the second poll in a row showing a fall in support for the government since its defeat in the Wentworth by-election and erases almost all the gains made during September and October as it began to show signs of recovery from the damage of the leadership spill.
The Prime Minister’s initial popular appeal also continued to fade, with his approval ratings dipping further into negative territory while the margin to Labor leader Bill Shorten for preferred prime minister also narrowed.

Trying to pull off Maxine McKew?

I bet he’s not a walking Staphylococcus generator.

Brutal. If I may tentatively offer a suggestion, perhaps it might help with the flow to work halitoid in there somehow as well.

Alex Turnbull said at issue was how to scale up campaigns to give people “some support”, but candidates needed to be locally based, particularly in rural and regional areas.”

Time for a super wealth tax in australia.

Why not? Threshhold $100 million? That ought to catch both Malcolm and Kevin though I think their money is well away from Australia and out of ATO’s reach. I can just imagine more cases like the one ATO v Paul Hogan.

Also, the Chinese are much nicer and more empathetic to Indigenous Australians than us whiteys.

That gave me the second belly laugh of the day.

    The ABC does comedy accidentally.

Abbott is a threat, however small , to the UNiparty program. Coal, immigration, taxes… all the issues that MUST comply with the UNiparty line Abbot speaks out against. As ex PM (a failure to be sure) he has a voice many listen too so he has to be silenced. Lib Party establishment want this. This is an example of why the Libs must be destroyed. They are jelly backed frauds who have zero conviction.

Cannon-Brookes and Turnbull Jnr are so up themselves they mistake political corruption for idealism.

Really. Abbott Pm’ed as a Trump like figure, did he? How may parallel universes down from this one did that occur as I’m curious.

    Julie Bishop probably next?

Try a Lib female PM next, see how that scenario goes, they may be thinking now.

But I was kind of bring facetious.

    Noooo!

  232. We have until now not killed murderers on sight as the first preference.

Andre, you’ve been repeatedly told that the police shot a man who was at the time attacking uniformed officers and had just killed a man and injured two other people. He wasn’t found minutes later sipping coffee and shot. He didn’t surrender and was then killed. One of the officers shot once into the centre of mass of the attacker and that was enough to subdue him. He was not shot on sight, the officers used force sufficient two subdue in self-defense. What part of this is difficult? Also, this is not a first either. Other people have been killed in the process of being subdued. Others have survived it as well.

They’re playing Ravel’s Bolero in Paris as part of the Armistice Day commemoration.

Bolero? After the movie “10” I can’t associate that music with anything solemn.

    Melbourne Cup Day was tough.
