The guy I feel most sorry for is Josh Rosen. Looks like he’ll be on his third team in three years next year. Hopefully he might land in a situation that would suit him.

Rosen being a second string QB (while still earning 1st round draft money) is a good outcome for him.
He’ll be better for not taking the hits for the next year or so.

This is the miracle Trump has worked; he has infused GoPs with backbones. Here Matt Gaetz eviscerates the vile demorat leftie law witnesses especially the kunt professor karlan who had a shot at Trump’s son:

Lamar Jackson’s pass accuracy is mind boggling.
& he does have that baseball style action that Kyler Murray & Mahomes have.
I think Murray & Mahomes will both have short careers due to their throwing action.

Looks like Chase Young is firming as the consensus top non-QB talent in the 2020 Draft.

    His crime? Quoting the Bible.

Fact Check: – False. On the 2 occasions that Folau tweeted resulting in his contract being terminated he did not actually quote the bible.

Do you remember Michael Vick? He had that little flick-of-the-wrist throwing action that delivered a bullet, too. Vick’s accuracy was suspect, not just his love for animals!, especially on crossing routes.

Just remember all the other national governing bodies in the Rugby League sphere are financially dependent on the NRL via the ARL, which is why the NRL Commission was able to tell the Tongan Rugby League what to do.

They were even able to get the Tongan Prime Minister involved, which was an odd twist, but there you go.

I see lots of big paydays in Izzy’s future if this sort of bigotry continues.
As IT said yesterday, the NRL should be shitting themselves after Peter “Cronulla Bulldogs” Beattie’s hatchet job on Easy Flowers.

Chase Young should go #1 in the draft.
    You can find a QB.
Getting a defensive line-man or outside linebacker with Chase Young’s mechanics is a lot harder.

He should threaten to sue him, and then explain that he won’t. In accordance with his faith.

Then Fitzsimian can decide if he will be grateful to Izzy’s faith that has spared him money I doubt he has, or if he will remain defiant to the end and demand Izzy not involve his faith in anything to do with him.

It’ s interesting wording about the bet –

All-In Betting. Impeached settled as majority vote of least one article of impeachment passed by House of Reps. Conviction settled as verdict in Senate Impeachment Trial. No Trial in First Term considered no conviction. President Elect at completion of Electoral College.

    This means:-
    1. The Congress passes at least on article of impeachment (likely); and
    2. Senate will vote to convict. Minimum of 67 of 100 votes required (no chance); and
    3. The conviction vote must be held and succeed by January 2021 (see above); and
Don’t put more than $2 on it and don’t take less than 100/1.

  23. Cardimona

Yesterday the Gold Coast paper printed this puddle of green vomit from a recidivist alarmist.

KEN Wade (GCB, 3/12), if you think its arrogant tantrums I’m portraying in my criticism of climate change deniers, then your wrong. It’s pure rage.
That someone would question the world’s leading climate scientists is an insult. Predictions were made 20 years ago, that are happening today, yet deniers still exist.
The reason for my rage is clear. The World Health Organisation states an additional 250,000 will die, every year as a result of climate change. The poorest people in the world will be affected the most. The United Nations states that 1 million animal and plant life are on the verge of extinction. Pope Francis has declared a climate emergency, because he knows the poorest people on earth will suffer. I have searched for the Greenland glaciologists report, but all I can find is reports of mass ice melting.
“Greenland is melting at an unprecedented rate, causing vast quantities of ice to disappear and global sea levels to rise. The fate of the ice sheet is not sealed, but unless CO2 emissions are sharply cut, the long-term existence of Greenland’s ice is in doubt” (Yale University).
But Ken Wade, (Cardimona) and Ron Nightingale are always prepared to fight for the big businesses. And they don’t let little things like facts get in the way of a good story.
Australia is responsible for 4.4 per cent of the world’s carbon immersions. We are killing people.
    SHAUN CUNNEEN

    My retaliation was in today…

I SEE Shaun Cunneen is his usual jolly and festive self (GCB, 04/12), showering his gifts of rage-tinted agitprop onto the GCB’s readership.
“Predictions were made 20 years ago, that are happening today…”. Go on, Shaun, cite one. I dare you.
“The World Health Organisation states an additional 250,000 will die…”. Prove these people have died, Shaun. Show us the news reports of when and where it happened.
“… 1 million animal and plant life are on the verge of extinction.” Name just one, Shaun; and don’t say “polar bears” because they’re doing fine.
“Pope Francis has declared a climate emergency…”. But wait, Shaun; the Pope isn’t a climate scientist, so by your own rules he can’t be believed.
“Greenland … mass ice melting.” Greenland gained eight gigatons of new ice last Sunday (1/12) and another six gigatons on Monday (2/12).
Shaun, I have no links with big business; no shareholdings, no mates in the corporate world, and no motive to support any particular business.
In fact I used to be a climate zombie myself, having been successfully brainwashed by my Grade 7 teacher in 1974.
However, once I looked at going “off grid” and dug deep into the realities of “renewables”, I discovered that they were overhyped and could not work “sustainably”.
Heck, they can’t even generate the type of energy needed to make the raw materials to replace themselves at the end of their short lives.
Over a couple of years I found all the true science sources that Google suppresses and discovered all the green-inspired beliefs I held were wrong.
    (Cardimona)

Sadly, the last para was edited off…

I could have turned into a rage-monster like you, Shaun, but instead I chose to spread the word that the global warming/climate change hoax is designed to damage Western societies sufficiently that we’ll accept global-socialism with an unelected elite cabal in charge.

  24. Tailgunner

    What’s your interpretation?

    Hi Winston,
My read is that “impeached” means voted on&passed by Congress. “Convicted” means actually impeached&removed by Senate vote.
So my understanding is that my money is on the House not going to a vote. Pelosi&Schumer will back out at the last minute, excuses pending.
They will be warned off proceeding by their globalist handlers.
    $6.50 Tasty!!

  25. Cardimona

Also this one, inspired by Mother Lode, got into a couple of small-town weekly papers in my region this week.

Global warming mania is a truly weird cultural phenomenon.

At the macro/community level “everyone” (the 48% of the population who believe in it) experiences the warm moral glow of participating in a society engaged in a great virtuous project, with the emphasis on “doing something”.

But at the micro/individual level almost nobody makes the behavioural changes the believers claim are urgent and vital to save the world. Each of those behavioural changes comes at cost to the individual so each individual finds ways to excuse themselves from those costs, to do nothing.

Left to individual choice, all those “nothings” add up to – nothing. So those driving the mania must use coercion and force to make individuals pay for it. Then they lie about it, telling people that they personally are coming out ahead and that other people are paying.

Be warned; life without reliable electricity will be nothing like the groupthink imagines. There’ll be no comfort in clinging to a weird mania then.

  26. cohenite

    Non sequitur, cocksucker.

Coming from you that’s a compliment. You are the resident expert on dicks; compensatory projection no doubt.

  27. Mother Lode

Dan – Maybe you should read the Bible.
    Could be important.

Surely the Bible speaks of Jesus, and his attempts to spur the working classes to righteous wrath against the oppressive capitalists who eventually engineered a betrayal, a show trial, and a signal punishment as a warning to any other upstarts.

But Jesus rose again after a 3-day lunch break and promised that he would return as a grotty German with an indecorous penchant for sisters.

He adjured his followers to pick up the cudgels of revolution and smash the free-market system and lay the capitalists low so that, when he came back, he wouldn’t have to do anything.

    Amiright?

Impeachment in the United States (Wiki)

Impeachment in the United States is the process by which a legislature (usually in the form of the lower house) brings charges against a civil officer of government for crimes alleged to have been committed, analogous to the bringing of an indictment by a grand jury. At the federal level, this is at the discretion of the House of Representatives. Most impeachments have concerned alleged crimes committed while in office, though there have been a few cases in which officials have been impeached and subsequently convicted for crimes committed prior to taking office.[1] The impeached official remains in office until a trial is held. That trial, and their removal from office if convicted, is separate from the act of impeachment itself. Analogous to a trial before a judge and jury, these proceedings are (where the legislature is bicameral) conducted by the upper house of the legislature, which at the federal level is the Senate

He should threaten to sue him, and then explain that he won’t. In accordance with his faith.

What Janet Albrechtsen wrote about Kate Eastman, SC is closer to the definition of defamation.

Just in case anyone doesn’t know, Eastman was part of a three person panel which heard Folau’s objection to the show cause notice.

The process specifies Rugby Australia appoints one member (Eastman); the Rugby Union Players’ Association appoints one (Boultbee); and both must agree on the third member (West) who chairs the panel.

The question of bias as alleged by Albrechtsen doesn’t survive even a casual acquaintance with the rules of the process, and impugning Eastman for accepting the appointment and/or doing her job is broaching defamation.

She was just doing her job, and actual or apprehended bias is hardly an issue when Boultbee, appointed by the RLPA, and West, agreed to by them, were part of a 3-to-nil decision his contract should be terminated.

Now, you can claim they were all wrong. But you should be looking to who at the RLPA agreed to the appointments rather than defaming Kate Eastman.

    Classrooms fail discipline test

    REBECCA URBAN
    NATIONAL EDUCATION CORRESPONDENT
    @RurbsOz

Australian classrooms are among the most undisciplined in the world, with the latest PISA study exposing widespread noise, disorder and student disobedience.

Released alongside Tuesday’s global education snapshot, the OECD’s What School Life Means for Students’ Lives report has ranked Australia 69th out of 76 countries on an index of school disciplinary climates.

Surveying students on their classroom experiences, it found that 43 per cent of Australian respondents reported noise and disorder in most or every English lesson, while 21 per cent claimed they could not work well in most or all lessons.

A further 37 per cent of students claimed their class did not listen to the teacher, with 26 per cent reporting that students did not start working for a long time after the lesson began.

In Korea, which was found to have the most disciplined climate, less than 10 per cent of students reported classroom noise and disorder, and only 5 per cent claimed they were unable to work well as a result.

China, which topped the PISA rankings for reading, maths and science, was fourth for discipline.

The findings could go some way to explain Australia’s long-term declining performance in PISA, which assesses the ability of 15-year-olds to apply knowledge in reading, maths and science.

The nation’s discipline issues were flagged in the 2015 testing cycle, where it ranked 63 out of 68 countries.

According to the OECD report, students who reported better disciplinary climate in their language-of-instruction lessons, English in the case of Australia, performed better in reading.

UNSW Sydney assessment expert Jihyun Lee said the results highlighted the issue of classroom discipline in Australian schools.

“The PISA 2018 report shows that Australia will need to seriously address the issue of classroom discipline,” Associate Professor Lee said.

“While on average there is a positive trend of lessening disciplinary issues in the world, Australian schools have faced an increased disciplinary problem in the period between 2009 and 2018.

“Simply put, if students don’t listen to what the teacher says, if there is noise and disorder in a learning space, and if a teacher has to wait for a long time for students to quiet down, how can we expect students to learn effectively in school?”

    Re education discipline…

    Hardly unexpected.

The other day there was a report getting around that argued that it was “unfair” to students if they were suspended.

There are little if any consequences enacted against disobedient students in Australian schools, so what do we expect?

If we had anything valuable coming out of the national education department, you’d think they could put together a nation-wide discipline policy and a set of consequences.

I have actually read the Bible. More than once. Happy for you to quote the relevant passage.

Dan – Here’s Folau’s graphic with some verses I get immediately from memory and the handy concordance in the back of my study bible.

    Drunks – Eph 5:18
    Homosexuals – Rom 1:26-17
    Adulterers – 7th commandment (see Deut 5)
    Liars – 9th commandment
    Fornicators – Mt 15:19
    Thieves – 8th commandment
    Atheists – Rom 1:18
    Idolators – 2nd commandment

Unless of course you repent, which is what Folau said.

All that is quite biblical. See also Mt 18:7-9. As Jesus said in Mt 5:48 “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Which is a concept that Luther wrestled with a long time before he worked out that it was impossible, and that we therefore need to repent and ask for forgiveness.

A British lesbian couple have become the first parents to have a baby carried in both of their wombs in a landmark “shared motherhood” procedure.

Jasmine Francis-Smith gave birth to Otis, their son, two months ago, using an egg that was implanted using IVF after it was first incubated by her wife, Donna.

The treatment offered by the London Women’s Clinic involves one partner contributing and incubating the egg, while the other subsequently carries the foetus.

In other words, nonsense. They trade on the ambiguity of ‘carry’. The entire process is about assuaging the emotions of the party that is not the birth mother.

The child mortality rate was very likely the same. Dunnom about the mortality rate, but it may have been superior for the “noble savage”.

It took 40,000 years for the population of Australia to reach about 500,000 by the time of European settlement. I’m no demographer but those figures don’t add up to a low mortality rate.

The advent of the Industrial Revolution resulted in a population explosion in Britain. This was the result of a lowering of the death rate from an increase in the general level of living standards.

George Zimmerman files $100 million lawsuit against Trayvon Martin’s family

Zimmerman was acquitted of a second-degree murder charge in 2013, but the suit contends the only reason he was charged in the first place was due to testimony from a “fake witness” — Rachel Jeantel, who at one point was identified as Eugenia Diamond, a nickname — but who the lawsuit alleges are in fact two people. Both names are listed as defendants in the suit.

Zimmerman’s suit claims the so-called fake witness had been coached to testify that she was Martin’s girlfriend and that they had been on the phone just before he was shot. Neither of these things were the case, the lawsuit alleges.

“A week later, Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump produced a recorded audio tape of ‘Diamond Eugene’ whom he said was Trayvon’s 16-year-old girlfriend who was on the phone with Trayvon just before the altercation,” Klayman alleges. “However, two weeks later, 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel, the alleged imposter, appeared before prosecutors claiming to be ‘Diamond Eugene’ and provided false statements to incriminate Zimmerman based on coaching from others.”

How Donald Trump ruined Christmas: I won’t celebrate this year, and he’s why
My enthusiasm for the Christmas season was always weak. Amid the ugliness of Trump’s America, it’s disappeared

I’m an atheist, and have been at least my whole adult life. So the concept of Christmas as a religious holiday has never had any hold on me. But for believers and non-believers alike in this country, it’s always been more of a secular holiday, at least in the United States. It’s about celebrating family togetherness and a larger sense of the nation coming together in the spirit of joy and generosity.

But all that feels like a lie in Trump’s America.

I notice Fatso was around this morning with a comment responding to my thesis that Aboriginals may have actually had a better material life than average Europeans in the 1700s. She’s trying out economics and it turns out like the Corbyn manifesto.

    JC, as usual, lacks nuance.

This is coming from the lardball who wants us to believe every man she met wanted to marry her in the first hour of the “interview”. Did we ever discuss the horse fetish? 🙂

There were significant differences between regions in Europe.

    What an astonishing revelation.

In Eastern Europe (and Scandinavia) the rural peasantry did it very hard, not least because of the harsh winters and short growing seasons.

This observation is of Einstein proportions. It wouldn’t explain why a decent swag of Scandinavia made their way to the US eventually and settling in the mid-west? But hang on, we’re comparing what life was like here, in aboriginal Australia, vs Europe, so let’s not digress.

In the Netherlands, per capita income was a lot higher and there was a thriving middle class.

Oh God, she’s back to peddling the Netherlands again as though the population size of that high-rise would significantly impact the wider comment about Europe as a whole. Her Holland obsession is becoming as bad as reading

the memsahib was born in Rotterdam

23.867 times it’s been posted here.

In France, while monetary income was not high, those who lived in the south or near the sea could at least grow or catch enough food to survive reasonably well.

    Great observation.

As for the UK, it was and is one of the most unequal societies in modern history.

That’s just bullshit. A rough and ready measure of inequality would be the Gini Co-efficient. The UK is 105, Australia 102 and the US 59th. The UK in NOT one of the most unequal nations in the world. Seeing the fat bullshit artist made this ridiculous claim about the present, there’s nothing to substantiate her other claim about the UK’s past either. This deranged crap would be something a Corbyn apostle would peddling. Jezzebel is a Corbyn supporter. Jezebel is a Liz Warren groupie too.

    See here
    https://www.indexmundi.com/facts/indicators/SI.POV.GINI/rankings

At the height of the Empire, with rivers of gold flowing into the country every year, rural peasants and city industrial workers continued to live in appalling conditions, with infant/childhood mortality up to 30%.

This of course is relative. In other words, how were those classifications she posted doing relative to others in Europe?

It was just past 1850, when men got a hold of things and began medicalizing childbirth we began to see a drop in children dying in birth. That’s just one example.

If you look at the massive mansions the British aristos built in the C18th and C19th, the attempts by modern plutocrats are like toytown.

Huge difference. The uber wealthy today may own several mansions around the world and visit them by private jet. The total square footage owned would be more these days when you count the homes etc.

    Like this dude:
    https://www.foxbusiness.com/luxury/a-look-at-ken-griffins-record-breaking-homes-around-the-world

They cashed in big during the fat years, and very little of it trickled down. It was all about connections, and still is. Tony Blair’s father in law is getting almost a million quid a year from taxpayers for the wind turbines on his properties.

The drunk is actually suggesting there was no general improvement in living standards in the UK either before and after the industrial revolution. This is leftwing corbynistic garbage.

That’s one of the reasons they ended up with the ghastly NHS. It was a massive reaction against a political culture which allowed sick people to go untreated if they were poor.

Lol. I’m not going to research this claim (yet) because I think it’s also total bullshit. After the war, the UK went into a hyper socialist mode. They never really released the reigns from the socialistic war footing. Remember, it didn’t free up from the rationing for years after WW2 and nationalization was all the rage. Nationalizing the health system was part of that socialist era and agenda of the time.

It was also a reaction against the fact that one of the richest countries in history allowed most of the wealth to be siphoned off by the upper class, while the masses got nothing.

Lardball is a greens voter. I’m now convinced. “Sad”.

And, even if European peasants had it tough, there was nevertheless a written language, a grasp of mathematics, and plenty of cultural doodads for the rich, like very highly developed music and fashion.

Okay. It took 300 days a year for a rural brit (70% of the population at the time) to sustain themselves and avoid food shortages. Aboriginals “worked” a couple of hours a day. That was the point!

I don’t think that you can compare ‘happiness’ or anything like that between cultures. It’s impossible. Every culture has its own definition.

I wonder if we can measure happiness by the amount of hard liquor consumed per day?  Someone’s on a real bender.

Right-wing extremist Phillip Galea has been found guilty of plotting terrorist attacks on Victorian Trades Hall and other “leftist” centres in Melbourne three years ago.

He was charged with “acts in preparation for, or planning a terrorist act” and attempting to make a document likely to facilitate a terrorist act.

After a trial lasting more than seven weeks, the jury took just over two days to return its verdict.

During the trial, prosecutors said Galea, 35, had maps and photos of the targeted locations and was making a “Patriot’s Cookbook” to recruit others to take up violent acts against M00slims and leftists.

Galea maintained his innocence throughout the court case, giving evidence that the Patriot’s Cookbook was satire.

Jeremy Clarkson attacks activist Greta Thunberg: ‘She’s mad and dangerous’

Jeremy Clarkson has no kind words for teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg.
“She’s mad and dangerous and she’s causing young children sleepless nights with her idiocy.”
The Grand Tour host recently unleashed a verbal attack on the 16-year-old during an interview with the Australian morning show, Sunrise.
He suggested the Nobel Peace Prize nominee needed to “go to school, learn science, and do something about [climate change]”.
“I think she needs to go back to school and shut up.”
This wasn’t the first time Clarkson spoke openly about his distaste for Thunberg. He previously called her a “spoilt brat” and a “stupid idiot”.
He said his 25-year-old daughter Emily, a vocal supporter of Thunberg, thought she was “this deity put on Earth” and that he would never agree with her.
“I think she’s a weird Swede with a bad temper. Nothing will be achieved by sailing across the ocean in a diesel-powered yacht, and then lying about the diesel engine,” he previously said.

Robert Poole, KPMG National Food and Agribusiness Lead Partner, said the tools were available to make this happen.

For argument’s sake, the Obama government issued a report written be senior scientists and economists that stated that the US going carbon neutral would have next to no impact on global carbon emissions but would have a severe impact upon Americans’ standard of living.

I know what you’re thinking – why didn’t someone think of this brilliant idea sooner?

John Kerry, Arnold Schwarzenegger wage ‘World War Zero’ on climate change
They launched their new initiative today along with A-list celebrities

Today former Secretary of State John Kerry and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared war on climate change. The two led an all-star cast of lawmakers and celebrities to launch an initiative called World War Zero, which aims to get individuals, businesses, and governments to drastically slash greenhouse gas emissions.
The initiative, for now, boasts a lot of glitzy names without many details on how it will achieve its goal. Its bipartisan founding members — which include Bill and Hillary Clinton, Richard Branson, Jimmy Fallon, Cindy McCain, and Al Sharpton, and more than 70 other notable names — plan to hold 10 million “climate conversations” in 2020, The New York Times reported over the weekend.
“Our fossil fuel addiction is killing us,” Schwarzenegger said in a Monday statement. “World War Zero has brought together leaders from different backgrounds with different viewpoints to find the way forward and inspire every citizen to act.”
The world will need to get to net zero emissions by mid-century in order to prevent catastrophic effects from climate change, an international panel of scientists reported last year. That means reducing greenhouse gas emissions to nearly zero and starting to remove excess human-caused greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Since last year’s report, cities, scientists, and most recently the European Parliament have declared a “climate emergency.”
Kerry compared the urgency of climate change to the challenges facing America during World War II. “When America was attacked in World War II we set aside our differences, united and mobilized to face down our common enemy,” Kerry said in a statement. “We are launching World War Zero to bring that spirit of unity, common purpose, and urgency back to the world today to fight the great threat of our time.” The launch coincides with the opening of the United Nations’ annual climate conference in Madrid.
