Speaking of the Stupid Forking Gliberals, why isn’t Bernie Finn the leader of the SFGs in Viktoriastan?

Presumably because he isn’t a spineless would be collectivist drone.

Goose Morristeen will go down as the most incompetent society and economy wrecking imbecile in the history of VenOztraliastan.

He’ll be considered infinitely worse than St Gough and the cavalcade of drooling cretins we’ve been forced to endure since 2007.

The excuse of kowtowing to CMO numpties won’t cut it, either; if we come out of this as the cheap white trash of the Asia Pacific.

It seems to me that, if there was ever a man, justified in never wanting to wear his countries uniform, again, or ever serve that country again, Dreyfus would be that man.

But that’s the essence of patriotism. It transcends the government of the day and anything it did to you.

I would be proud to wear Australia’s uniform. Never have and I envy those who have.

Seven mentioned that 15 Ruby Princess passengers have now died, out of 50 for the whole of Australia.

The public service imported these to justify the lock downs.
Strip out the Ruby Princess & you’ve got more chance of of being fisted to death by a wombat.

People should read the High Court judgement.

As per CL’s thread, the politicians, media, public servants, “experts” all now need to protect the shut-down.
This is why the manifests of all planes landing in Australia need to be made public so we know where these imports trips originated from.
Same with the boats they keep trying to sneak through.

    The media is poison.

A lot of them are sheilas. I’m astounded the lack any understanding of the case. They want him punished for the sins of the Church and a lot of them actually say this. Wifey has a niece who’s an ICU specialist. We got on the subject of Pell one time and she put up this line of argument. She didn’t care if he was innocent. She just wanted to see him in jail because of the Church’s past transgressions. You’d think someone going through med school would be able to put emotions aside. Nope.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been told he’s arrogant and has very right wing views. This is supposed to make him guilty.

We’ve also had years and years now of the Victorian left filling up the judiciary with leftwing ideologues. Eventually this begins to bite.

They certainly do — Mum used to grow the most amazing cabbages, she’d put cabbage in her Minestrone (in fact I made a Minestrone on the weekend and cabbage was added) Mum used to slice it finely cook it very slowly with lots of pepper and milk (yummy) and would also make involtini with the cabbage leaves — you know cabbage leaves stuffed with well-seasoned meat in a slightly tomato sauce. Cabbage what a great vegetable and remains fresh for a long while in the fridge. Hope that answers your question Lizzie

True but that was because he really hated the Kennedy’s. He was once part of the Kennedy’s inner circle but he had a major brawl with Bobby Kennedy (who was probably quite homophobic…unlike his brother the president) and Vidal was subsequently banished from the Kennedy’s inner sanctum. Vidal’s mother was the second wife of Jackie Kennedy’s stepfather.

In other news from the medical crisis in this country. One of my sisters recently returned from Canuckistan with her husband and they had been serving out their 14 days of solitary confinement. Until today.

Spoke with my sister last night and she was in agony from a chronic sinus condition and unable to obtain any treatment (usually a simple surgical procedure administered by her ENT specialist). She couldn’t obtain that treatment as ENT surgeons have been forbidden to have direct physical contact with patients. She’d managed to obtain an ECG appointment on Friday (just after the end of the 14 days) but became more and more upset as the phone call went on, given the pain she was in. The most infuriating part was that I couldn’t do a thing to help her.

Anyway, thankfully she was transported today by ambulance to hospital, has had her ECG and will hopefully receive the treatment she needs tomorrow. Any luck and she’ll be back home on Friday. I’ll be off to pay them a visit as soon as is practical.

Cassie I don’t think you can be too sure about all of this as the murder of both of the brothers necessitated a lot of smoke-blowing after the fact. When you have those sorts of motivations in play about all you can trust is what comes out of Gore Vidal’s mouth in un-doctored video. Just because you fall out with your friends its doesn’t mean you aren’t friends no more. You are exacerbated by them, confused by them, but once friends its not necessarily the case that you are going to rubbish them even after their murder. So in this one case I think only video evidence of Gore Vidal in a good mood would be sufficient.

Gold Coast beaches have been reserved for locals only for the Easter weekend as tensions mount in NSW over Queenslanders taking advantage of surf south of the closed state border.

Six days after she closed the border to people from NSW to prevent coronavirus spreading, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said only a local could swim on Gold Coast.

“Look, my understanding is if you are a local, you’re allowed to go for a swim and come out,” she said on Wednesday.

Is there any reason why thoughts and wishes could not be dedicated to Pell, at least for the time it took him to say it? Why not spare a thought for an innocent man hounded, persecuted and prosecuted, and locked up for over a year? Does it not matter? Can’t we be a little happy about his release while also being pained at the suffering of children?

Increasingly he comes across as something trying to mimic a human, like someone trying to create the impression of being an athlete by rehearsing the movements of an athlete but with no understanding, skill, or indeed athleticism.

Later in the segment he said that VicPol are convinced that there’s an issue with George Pell because there have been a large number of cases in Ballarat.
Then, they failed to understand the cathedral matter and didn’t ask the right questions.
So, I’m left with the impression that John Ferguson thinks Pell is guilty (Ray Hadley too?) rather than accepting that the case in fact had sufficient evidence that demonstrates innocence.

    Below from the Brisbane Times.

Whilst it is true the Govt has not closed all retail outlets its policies have done that anyway. In a Westfield in Sydney police were stopping people to ask why they were there. The shopping chain my daughter works for (a shop in most Westfields) has now closed their shops and the workforce would be thousands of full time never mind the many casuals. Their closing up not rated a mention as this has been going on for weeks. Good news is her chain put them off for a month on full pay so well done to them. The advice covering this week end means any remaining shops will not have any visitors over the holiday week end.

I would like to know how the Treasury modelled / priced the costs of business closing down by the constant stepping up of warnings and restrictions. I have noted it happen over the last month in my small local strip of shops.

No way the budgeted funds going to cover what they have closed and the obligations they have taken on. Incidentally would be interesting to know how many months the Govt modelling is planning to give the handouts for.

“One of the country’s biggest landlords and owner of Westfield malls says there is no reason why some retail stores cannot reopen and urged clarity from the Prime Minister after “confusing messages” from the government. Have they modelled the very significant loss of GST income or is that an unintended consequence they did not budget for. When a Chief Medical Officer says lets close such and such does somebody in Treasury pop up and say to PM that is $75 or whatever billion ?

Scentre Group chief executive Peter Allen said 86 per cent of the tenants in its Westfield mall portfolio were allowed to trade but of those, only 39 per cent were open.

“It would help to get rid of this confusion, when you look at the categories that the government has said must close, such as gyms, nail bars and cinemas … that’s only 14 per cent of our tenants so potentially a lot of other stores could open,” Mr Allen said.

“Government is confusing in its messaging … they say there are restrictions in moving around, yet the PM says jobs are essential. But the one clear message from the PM is that retailers must honour their leases.”

Me neither. I’m an antisocial animal.

    I’m just an animal.

    So I’ve been told.

Vidal’s very public view was along the lines of that even though GWB was a higher functioning simian, was that Kennedy was the worst president in US history.
Vidal’s view was that Kennedy was the first real architect of what we would call neo-conservatism today.
Complicated, nuanced, but a very well thought out view.

    -Carter (dumped the Shah)
    -Reagan (amnesty, gutting unions)
    -Bush 41 (NAFTA)
    -Clinton (PRC joins WTO)
    -Bush 43 (Iraq, economy, everything)
    -Obama (Libya, China, everything)

He has to live blog Rickman and McEwen’s scenes. I wonder how many takes it took without them bursting out laughing?

This is why the Cat is so great.

c.f. The Australian which won’t allow comments on any of the articles on Pell.
Rejects anything of mine which includes the term Wuhu Flu/Kung Flu/Chinese virus.
Any criticism go PvO is rejected.

But here…..a wonderful freedom of expression.

Are you going to attribute that to the tweeter, grigs?

Another potential Zinger bites the dust.
    Sad.

    If I had a Wanger…

I guess BushI-Clinton deserve equal worst ever for baking in the strategic decisions that caused our current malaise, but BushII-Obama a solid consolation for their stupidity getting millions of people killed.

    Janus was the AFP one?
    Refresh my memory please.

“Janus” was loosely based on the Walsh Street shootings – it was the story, told from the points of view of the coppers, and the lawyers, of the attempts to bring the “Hennesy” family to justice.

Take a note of the cast of any ABC “quality drama” show.

20 years later they’ll still be appearing in ABC “quality drama”.

Take a note of the cast of Home and Away.

20 years later, they’re in Los Angeles with an agent, appearing in A-list movies and nominated for Oscars.

  209. Peter the old fossil

Hopefully, Joe Public is waking up to the prospect.

A process that will come to full fruition when the true intent of the Currency (Restrictions on the Use of Cash) Bill 2019 become apparent, and our super funds are diverted to a “save the nation” spending spree.

As I keep saying, not “bungling and incompetence”, but a carefully devised and executed plan.

    -Obama (Libya, China, everything)

From my followings of Vidal, he didn’t give a view on Obama.
Many comments were attributed to him.
Some of his latest writings were even thought to have been “edited” to the point of doctored.
But I haven’t seen any footage of him talking about Obama.

Looks like some sections of the media are trying to do a Dennis Ferguson on Cardinal Pell. 7-0 must be gnawing at their gizzards

    Brilliance in four hours.

    +1, still cherish the DVD.

Lindy Chamberlain affair pales into insignificance compared to Pell stitch up. This easily most high level corrupt thing I’ve witnessed in Australia. When is Hollywood going to make the movie?

My view is that Pell is lucky not to have been taken out by a car bomb.

    He’ll be fine.
A security detail is following his every move.
Cleverly disguised as a Ch 7 news team.
Followed him out of the Carmelite Monastery in Kew and up the highway towards Sydney.

But with Reagan the old man was always doing good work on his own hook. And then people were white-anting the situation outside of his radar. So there was a sort of decency and sanity that pervaded the White House back then. Its true that after they tried to murder him early on (and the old bugger wouldn’t die) he was somewhat diminished, still his intellectual capital held him in good standing right up until about 1986. But what can you do if there are concerted efforts to completely hollow everything out from the inside?

  218. JABL

On the basis that R v Pell is of some interest I will repost this:

    A magnificent decision.

    The important takeways:
    1. If the uncontradicted evidence is that the the conduct complained of could not have happened then the case should have been taken away from the jury (assuming that the DPP was brain dead enough to allow it to proceed)
    2. The Defence appears to have been nobbled in that they were prohibited by law from accessing the complainant’s counseling history and medical diagnosis. This exists in at least two jurisdictions. In mine ‘any’ counselor be it a teacher or whom ever who gives ‘advice’ to a complainant is protected. This prevents, unless a Court rules otherwise, a defendant from knowing what a complainant may have claimed in the past (ie possible prior inconsistent statements).
    3. Further to 3 it is believed by some in legal profession in light of certain personalities involved in the Royal Commission that this may be covering a return to hypno-therapy and “recovered memories” with all the attendant injustice that entails.

I do not know what “ellie”‘s life experience nor profession is but no-one in crime is uncaring, The criticism of Richter’s submission is completely unfounded. Vanilla or at the low end is a common submission from Counsel to the Court where all understand the threshold that the crime in question is shocking and terrible but there are graduations of depravity.

Talking about the ABC and drama……the BBC, despite it being a cesspit of leftism, still manages to produce some pretty decent drama whereas “their ABC”, despite more than one billions bucks a year tossed its way, produces zero quality drama. Where does all the money go?

  223. Rex Mango

Bloke that annoys me most & really should take most of the blame is that stupid chief judge of Vic County Court, Kidd. What a pompous idiot. He was so blinded by the high profile cases that he had his sentence televised live & it went for like an hour. How could such a simple case have an hour sentence. Talk about an egomaniac & now he has to hire professional Filipino cleaners to come in & get the egg off his face.

  224. Wow.

Google Ryan W Ferguson, subject of the Dream/Killer documentary.

Wifey has a niece who’s an ICU specialist. We got on the subject of Pell one time and she put up this line of argument. She didn’t care if he was innocent. She just wanted to see him in jail because of the Church’s past transgressions.

Can we apply that rule to the public service?

  233. Seven States Mencius

I won’t say how many daughters I’ve had. But if you’ve had maybe fifty lovers but only one daughter you ought to know who the most valuable girl in the world is. Clearly a horrible mistake was made. Makes me shake my head at the stupidity of it all.
