Is there anything more predictable than an ABC journalist?

George Neumayr at The American Spectator: Playing Dumb About Obamagate.

Only liberals could say ‘we don’t know what the scandal is…’ Their capacity for denial and projection is staggering. They spent three years accusing a government of interfering in our election, only for Americans to find out that that government was their own.”

    The ABC

Spit. Obliteration and exile to Heard Island is the appropriate answer to these propagandists.

Everything we’ve been saying on the Cat for the last 4 years is being confirmed as entirely true. Unless Barr gets his finger out of his freckle the rule of law in the USA will be gone forever.

  2. Roger

They’ve been running this line for at least a week now after an interview with an Australian academic whose name escapes me.

I often wonder if Their ALPBC gets its marching orders from O/s or makes it up on its own. So let’s see. According to Their ALPBC the Russian interference and Trump was real but all the evidence pointing to Obama and his minions acting illegally is a theory. And we pay $1billon a year for this? Let’s not forget Bob Hawke’s Collins Class submarines for budget blowout.

Once, the ABC were just stupid, blind and unreliable.
    Now, they are deliberate liars!
And, Mrs Lisp is fully OK with that.

I have this to say to the abc comrades ,TRUTH BEATS FACTS !
They know what it means ,or do they ? Their IDLE Gropey Joe Biden said that and the media knew what he was saying ,or did they?
Funny how the left always admire IDLES who are ultra flawed .

  6. cohenite

The abc is just part of the left wing apparatus; that cucks like little johnny didn’t close it down just shows how useless the right is. They don’t get what the cultural war is.

    Lee Smith article at tabletmag:
Michael Flynn posed a threat to the former president’s legacy and was made to pay for it

Russiagate was not a hoax, as some conservative journalists call it. Rather, it was a purposeful extension of the Obama administration’s Iran Deal media campaign, and of the secret espionage operation targeting those opposed to Obama’s efforts to realign American interests with those of a terror state that embodies the most corrosive forms of anti-Semitism.
It’s not hard to see why the previous president went after Flynn: The retired general’s determination to undo the Iran Deal was grounded in his own experience in two Middle Eastern theaters of combat, where he saw how Iran murdered Americans and threatened American interests. But why Obama would choose the Islamic Republic as a partner and encourage tactics typically employed by third-world police states remain a mystery.

  8. Is there anything more predictable than a journalist?

    Fixed! They are all NPCs.

  9. Squirrel

This would doubtless make fascinating reading, and an uplifting distraction from their worries, for all the Australians who are wondering what the hell they are going to do when Jobkeeper and the double dole expire…..

The only concern an Australian publicly funded broadcaster should have with American politics is what it means for Australia and Australians – i.e. money and security. The rest of it is a distant sideshow which is entertaining for some, but those people can get all they want through other sources.

The ABC should be giving more thorough and consistent attention to other nations, particularly those much geographically closer to us.

It’s hard not to play dumb with Obamagate. Every time you ask for an explanation of it, you get nothing but stupid back.

  11. Roger

But we might reasonably expect a tad more intellectual curiosity from our publicly funded national broadcaster that sent a “top line” reporter and crew to New York at great expense to deliver a two part exclusive on the nothingburger that was Russiagate, said report having since been relegated to the forgettery, other than just relying on the opinion of a second rate Australian academic.

    Wouldn’t you agree?

    Wouldn’t you agree?

    Yep I’d agree.

  13. jupes

    From the ABC article:

It originally kicked off in earnest in 2017, when Mr Trump accused the Obama administration of wire-tapping his campaign in 2016.

This is pig level ignorance. Either that or the author thinks his readers are as dumb as a stump.

The Obama administration did ‘wire tap’ his campaign. What were they doing at the FISA Court FFS?

But Mr Trump’s press secretary at the time later clarified that the President’s comments weren’t to be taken seriously.

That line is just bullshit and obfuscation. Trump’s press secretary said the comments weren’t meant to be taken literally (he didn’t use the word seriously). “Wire tap” is used as slang for more modern surveillance methods. The immoral prick is misleading his readers.

Where is ACMA and Media Watch when they have a real journalistic crime to investigate?

  14. areff

The immoral prick is a 24-year-old ABC recent hire, which tells us how the ABC intends to “cover” Obamagate: get the copyboy to knockout a few pars of approved narrative and leave it at that. Author Mantesso is in the green singlet below:

    It isn’t legally complicated.
Spying on your political opponent is illegal.
Buying dossiers from Russian intelligence is illegal.
Lying to a FISA court is illegal.
    Rigging 302s is illegal.
Leaking classified material to the press is illegal.
    Lying under oath is illegal.

Fancy a taxpayer funded opinion magazine that has employed a stable chock ablock full of low information arseholes. loosening welded shut arseholes requires new technology, and low-and-behold here it is ………aaannnnnddd it’s free.

So many illegalities. Yet no charges. Yet no successful prosecutions.

On what has become usual Their ABC form, the Green-Left propagandist can not be trusted to deliver either ‘truth or the facts’ about right wing politicians/parties.

Ita has always been OK with that. Why anybody expected her to change this late in life is a mystery.

Michael Flynn posed a threat to the former president’s legacy and was made to pay for it

Obama was always shallow, he had such a grand idea of himself that nothing was allowed to threaten it. If he was any good he would have done great deeds that would live after him but his main achievement was the constant White House parties with celebrities.

Or any free to are Australian media worth the name. I am horrified at the lack of interest in the national interest shown by all our media “practitioners”. If I wanted that level of disinterest I’ll read Chinese media. They might actually say something positive about us once in a while.

I know this is not just a problem in Australia but all over the western world. It used to be called cultural cringe, now it’s civilisation cringe. The stupid 26 year olds running the media will eventually find that they don’t like the world they created.

Whenever I hear of a media company going belly up or laying off staff I pump the air with my fist. The enemy’s every defeat should be celebrated.

Looks like the kids are in charge. Usually the ALPBC leaves this rubbish on JJJ the Marxist kindergarten for 40 yo undergraduates.

Anyone hoping for improvement under Ita will be sorely disappointed. She is as useless as them all.

  27. jupes

She is as useless as them all.

No, she is the worst. The ABC is now completely off the leash.

  29. Cold-Hands

The ABC’s North America correspondent James Glenday is doubling down:

In the past week, a rebadged conspiracy theory has been breathlessly promoted by the US President and conservative media pundits: OBAMAGATE!

It’s not worth discussing at length.

But in summary, the story is essentially an updated version of a long-running fringe theory that the Obama administration and the nefarious “deep state” illegally sabotaged Donald Trump from the very start, partly by entrapping his former national security adviser Michael Flynn in the Russia scandal.

There is no evidence to tether the vague narrative to reality.

Even Trump, when asked for more details, has struggled to specify what criminal activity took place:

“It’s been going on for a very long time,” the President recently mused.

“You know what the crime is. The crime is obvious to everybody.”

Let’s be clear; this entire theory is a diversion, a predictable move from the Trump political playbook.

Mr Obama said coronavirus “tore back the curtain” on the idea that leaders “know what they’re doing”.
While “Obamagate” is being covered and debunked by media outlets, less time is spent reporting on the 90,000-odd Americans killed by the coronavirus, the Administration’s slow pandemic response or the human cost of the worst economic crisis America has seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

To him, #Obamagate is just a huge distraction squirrel to deflect from Trump’s failures in dealing with the Wuhan Virus (not that he’d call it that).

A shame the ABC don’t allow comments.

Afraid of the clue-bat no doubt.
