From the start, the island continent of Australia was always the world’s easiest coronavirus ‘crisis.’

The economic suicide will get the credit though because it has to – psychologically most people couldn’t cope with admitting such an enormous mistake so will resort to backwards/circular logic. The massive expense becomes the justification for the massive expense.

  3. Yes, it was easier in Australia. Unless you took the CL “let her rip” approach, which would have led to hundreds of grannies gurgling to death.

  4. Infidel Tiger King

Hockey has managed to bust his lap band twice. A man that weak willed is bound to be very stupid as well.

  5. H B Bear

Hockey. Continues to fail upwards. Now we can see why.

    Singlehandedly gave Australia KRuddy. Moron.

Why do I get the feeling you couldn’t give a flying fuck for anyone’s granny, your own included?

With your copious free time in the basement, have you compared the public statements on Wussia, Wussia, Wussia of Comey, Brennan, et al with the recently released transcripts of their evidence on oath to a Congressional committee? Did you notice any differences?

  9. Cynic of Ayr

    Hockey is a feather duster.
Still, these people love to pick figures out of selected areas and make comparisons.
“Ballsup City has more cases of the Chinese Virus, than Disaster City, IF the factors of age, area, latitude, time of year, population, ethnic disparity, size of continent or island, and political sway are not taken into account.”
All this stuff always reminds me of the “Cunnamulla Nipple” and, “Clear skies, otherwise cloudy.”
You can make any number out of any numbers.

Ah I see that m0nty is now in favour of Operation Sovereign Borders. Is funny!

  11. And we didn’t send our hospital’s excess COVID-19 victims to nearby nursing homes like NYC.

    I know nothink

  12. Professor Fred Lenin

Scotland with a quarter of our population has 2,000 attributed deaths from the Chinese disease, so really you are 80 times more likely to die of it there than here. Last map,I saw said Britain was an island , like us , there is justification in asking British authorities why the figures are so high ,dont you think ?

Beware m0nty – restrictions have been eased, so a tidal wave of deaths must be just about to happen! Keep campaigning for 26 million + Australians to be kept under house arrest, so that the fat turd demographic are spared the horror of having to lay off the donuts and get on the exercise bike to reduce their own individual risk factors!

Time for my Mother’s Day report.

I did not kill Mother despite having visited her against Dr. M0nty’s advice. She is in the pink of good health. I attribute it to much laughter on the day, particularly directed at our politicians.

Letting the virus run its course is the only long term thing to do, unless you wish to remain ‘Fortress Australia’ for an indefinite period and in doing so destroy the lives of hundreds of thousands who rely on the tourist trade for their living. But to some people saving just one life is worth that.

Seems a pretty high correlation between success and did you listen and trust China/WHO or not? If you trusted them then disaster, if you didn’t you’ve probably done pretty well.

The biggest shame for me in America is whilst Trump has a justified deep distrust of China, Fauci seemed to have way too high an opinion of WHO and Tedros Adhanom.
That said even if Fauci had rung the bell earlier Cuomo would have still allowed NY to turn into a hell hole just to be seen to be being contradictory to the Trump administration.

I recall my late father’s judgement: “I like Joe Hockey but he’s not very bright.”

It appears that Joe Hockey’s lap band was applied to his carotid artery by mistake.

I see monty is the most written about on the thread again. He certainly knows how to wind you up and get all the attention. He’s best ignored really.

It wasn’t the virus that destroyed the economy.
It was us complying with tyranny.

You can be an island all you want but if you allow hundreds of incoming flights per week you keep importing the infection. The Chunnel might be another route.

Absolutely right. And look at the premiers, drunk on power and can’t seem to let go. They need to be severely punished at the polls or they will do it again and again at the first sign of a sniffle.

  24. Really?

Never, ever vote for the major parties again.

  25. The major parties need need to smoulder like the refuse dumped in Gehenna.

Its not just about being islands. Britain is an island but has been hit hard by the virus, compounded by an economic disaster because of the lockdown. But what sort of lockdown allows international airlines continuing access and escorts illegal, possibly infectious migrants from Africa via Europe into the country on a daily basis courtesy of the naval border force? Its closing the windows while leaving the front and back doors ajar.

Indeed, and both the UK and Oz failed to close their international airports properly – or at all. Friends returned from overseas late Feb when all we had was an advisory to self-isolate. Every port they went through in North America there was screening for symptoms. Anyone with a temp or cough was tested for Covid-19. But not in Oz. They returned through Tulla. Passengers from three flights mingled in Customs, no screening, no isolation, no sanitisers NOTHING.

A quote often attributed to Einstein says he believed there were only two substances of unlimited quantity in the universe: hydrogen and stupidity. And he wasn’t sure about hydrogen.

If were could bottle the other and run it in reverse, we could fix the world in less than a year!
