Andrew Olle Scholarship winner uncovers ploy

Donald Trump’s cries about ‘Obamagate’ are a ploy to distract the media from the coronavirus.

In the past week, a rebadged conspiracy theory has been breathlessly promoted by the US President and conservative media pundits: OBAMAGATE!

It’s not worth discussing at length.”

– ABC North America correspondent James Glenday refuses to discuss the biggest political scandal in US history.
James has won several journalism awards.”

  1. the biggest political scandal in US history.

It is always, always, always projection with you lot.

For journalists, following the range of competing narratives for a living can be tiring.

So, much easier for a journalist just to choose their favourite team, and disdain the counterview.

  4. It is always, always, always projection with you lot.

Well done, that was pretty funny.

Lift your game will you please.

    That was pathetic.

James has a top bio- educated at the best journalism school in the world.

    University of Technology Sydney

    Communications and International Studies

  7. Tom

Glenday graduated from University of Technology Sydney with a degree in communications and international studies.

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Tip for kiddies aspiring to be credible journalists: don’t attend the school with the reputation of producing nothing but howler monkey political activists.

Thanks Tom. Debauching the quality of media is as important, if not more so, as wrecking the currency. See Steve Kates above for the latter.
The quality of our ABC was once again demonstrated by this week’s Philosopher’s Zone on RN.
After nearly thirty minutes of waffle and workshopping supposedly exploring the philosophical basis of Urban Planning and the mental alchemy of transforming “antagonism to agonism” in search of the requisite perfectly formed “social action in a neo-marxist context” the kernel of their concern emerged towards the end in a throwaway line:
Build more “affordable housing” instead of apartments.

  9. Bruce of Newcastle

And Watergate was a just a media distraction from the Vietnam War eh m0nty?

At least Nixon didn’t use the FBI, CIA, DHS, Treasury, IRS and MI6 to spy on, subvert, lawfare and harass McGovern, his family and all his campaign staff.

  10. Wow. Garbage like this would once have been a career killing move. But we all know he’ll come back here to be the ABC’s senior political editor.

  11. H B Bear

Ita torching the kids on this one. Surely Frank Elly is MIA?.

  12. At least Nixon didn’t use the FBI, CIA, DHS, Treasury, IRS and MI6 to spy on, subvert, lawfare and harass McGovern, his family and all his campaign staff.

McGovern wasn’t the head of a massive empire of crime.

Trump is not happy with him and his cronies getting away with crimes, he wants to whine about how unfair it was that those proven crimes were investigated. That is what Obamagate is about. Nothing more.

  13. Sword

When the ABC was halfway watchable there was an episode in Frontline where character Marty DiStasio told moron anchorman Mike Moore to have a look in his desk drawer where he kept the symbol of his commitment to journalism … his Walkley Award. Mike took a look and with a rather perplexed look fished out a banana.
Seems like a couple of decades later a banana has a good deal more value than any “journalism award”.

  14. The left are absolutely feral these days and now support nonsense like process crimes.

So much about their concern for substantive justice.

  15. areff

And Minister Fletcher still won’t say boo to a goose.

  16. Snoopy

When is Mueller snapping the cuffs on Trump?

  17. struth

The true problem all along is that Trump knew Obummer was ordering it all and knew that pushing it too hard too soon was foolish until all the ducks lined up.
The quacking , hopefully is almost done.

  18. Bruce of Newcastle

McGovern wasn’t the head of a massive empire of crime.

    He wasn’t? How odd.
I could’ve sworn he was the chosen leader of the Democrat Party.

How is Mueller going? Aaannnnyy day now?

Caught up yet on the stark contrast between what Comey, Brennan et al were saying publicly and their evidence on oath to Congress? The idea of being caught in one of their own perjury traps seems to have refreshed their memories.

Absent a belief in absolutes, justice will always be a moveable feast.

  21. Boambee John

    those proven crimes

Great to see you remain so loyal to the long discredited narrative.

Stil, I suppose you have to. The alternative is to admit that you have been played for the fool you are for decades.

    Compare and contrast:

    with

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-23/donald-trump-obamagate-coronavirus-distraction-strategy/12270002

Among the skills young Mr Glenaday mastered at the feet of Wendy “I’ve been fucked by God’s steel prick*” Bacon, something very, very close to flat-out plagiarism.

In even a halfway decent news organisation, this would be a sackable offence. But it’s the ABC we’re talking about.

For Their ALPBC the “Russian interference” was soooooooooooo true, yet Obozo and the Clintons can do no wrong in their eyes. Then again they don’t want to report facts (do they Monty?) but either ignore it or just repeat what their left wing lying bubble wants. We all know Their ALPBC is a left wing propaganda factory but the trouble is we don’t have ANY politicians with the guts to take it on. Let’s face it, Their ALPBC does appeal to the lower IQ and non-thinkers in society.

  25. Tel

    “Distract the media from coronavirus”

    Are you serious dude?

I think there might still be a few virus articles in the news media next week. It’s gonna be OK they will keep on reporting on that.

  26. a happy little debunker

Chas Licciardello (Planet America) mocked & ‘debunked’ Obamagate Friday night.
He correctly stated that nobody had ‘unmasked’ Flynn between his December 29th call with Kislyak & the Jan 5th discussion between Obama, Comey and Yates – put simply Chas said Flynn’s name was never masked.

Poor Chas tried so hard, but missed the important point.
If the transcript of that Kislyak phone call had been lawful intelligence work-product then Flynn’s name should have been masked.

That is wasn’t masked implies that it was a result of unlawful conduct – by way of unsanctioned spying of Flynn. rather than Kislyak.

Somebody was illegally spying on the Trump Team and that work-product found it’s way to the most important desk in the Oval Office.

White House Counsel (representing Obama) latter directed Yates to write a memo about that White House conversation on the day of Trump’s inauguration.
The memo claimed Comey had said he would continue to proceed ‘by the book’ three time over – despite the obviously unlawful spying that had triggered this event.

Yes, we all remember that Nixon was bought down by way of the ‘coverup’ – whereas Barry Obama was involved far more intimately.

  27. That is wasn’t masked implies that it was a result of unlawful conduct – by way of unsanctioned spying of Flynn. rather than Kislyak.

American spies bug Russian ambassador’s conversations, film at 11.

This is the dumbest pseudo-scandal yet. There is no “cover up”, everything was done above board and documented. “Obamagate” is an empty slogan used for vice signalling between crooks and their enablers.

  28. “Obamagate” is identical to the arguing tactic used by mobsters to complain about targeting by the Feds. “It was all a set up by those doity coippers” rarely works in court.

  29. wal1957

    Hillary lost Monty.
    Get over it!

    Monster, bubbleboy

Stop worrying about Kenyangate. Try to make the basement livable. You’re in there for the rest of your life.

  31. This is the dumbest pseudo-scandal yet. There is no “cover up”, everything was done above board and documented.

    Are you sure about that?

  32. a happy little debunker

    There is no “cover up”,

There was no lawful authority for listening in to Flynn’s phone calls.
There was lawful authority for listening in to Kislyak’s phone calls, on the absolute condition that any Americans partaking in any discussion were masked.
Flynn’s identity was not masked in the Dec 29th phone call.
Flynn was not under any sanctioned investigation until after the 29th.

It is pretty simple to ask ,
Who was illegally spying on Flynn?
Who gave Obama illegally the gathered work product?
Why was it discussed in the Oval Office?
Why did WH counsel require Yates to memorialise that discussion during the very last seconds of the Obama Administration?
How could Comey continue proceeding ‘by the book’ – when the work product regarding Flynn was gathered illegally?

These questions & others remain unanswered

  33. Bruce of Newcastle

Obama bugged everyone m0nty. We know he bugged Rand Paul, Jeff Sessions (when he was a senator), and Carter Page (as a way into the Trump campaign HQ). He bugged Associated Press when they wrote an unfavourable story. They bugged Sharyl Atkinsson which has led to her becoming a righty. Then there were all the IRS audits that weirdly just occurred after events the Administration didn’t like. And that’s even before we get to pay to play, sue and settle, green energy backhanding, Benghazi and Libya and lots more.

  34. Mother Lode

the biggest political scandal in US history.

After being told that the Wussia Wussia Wussia conspiracy was the greatest scandal in American history wouldn’t the conspiracy to manufacture the conspiracy have to be bigger scandal?

Don’t worry though. We won’t be saying “Any day now. Any daaaaay…..”

That was always just the wrongology talking.

  35. Whalehunt fun

The filth that inhabit the ABC cesspit need to be cleaned out. No wonder Saloth Sar still has adherents. For all his many overwhelming faults he had a talent for dealing with people who treated the common folk with contempt. With flight restructions we will need fruit pickers. Hell, they could even be used to pick cotton. Replacing mechanised harvesting would reduce CO2 emissions.

  36. Whalehunt fun

The cotton picking would be without pay. Instead these “au pairs des crops” would be provided the typical wealthy lefty underpayment: accommodation and sometimes food.

A Walkley is right up there with the Sydney Peace Prize.

Looking forward to the bit where Louise Milligan hands hers back this year. Would be great TV intercut with extracts of the High Court judgment. I wonder if they are looking for a director?

Let’s hope so. M0nty’s wrongology has been impressive. We wouldn’t want him to spoil his record.

Whether it’s a ploy or an epic scandal, a country which is sinking into debt as quickly as Straya does not need to use borrowed money to pay people to obsess about the domestic politics of another country.

Trump has suggested that Joe Biden improperly pressured Ukraine to oust a prosecutor to protect his son from a purported inquiry.

I guess James hasn’t seen the video of Biden bragging about doing just that. Too bad James isn’t in the White House press pool: I’d love to see him being eviscerated and flayed alive by Kayleigh McEnany.
