“More people will die from the measures than from the virus”

An interview with Yoram Lass, “the former director of Israel’s Health Ministry, on the hysteria around Covid-19”: ‘Nothing can justify this destruction of people’s lives’ at Spiked. Read it all, but this is how it opens – I have left out the questions that these are the answers to:

Yoram Lass: It is the first epidemic in history which is accompanied by another epidemic – the virus of the social networks. These new media have brainwashed entire populations. What you get is fear and anxiety, and an inability to look at real data. And therefore you have all the ingredients for monstrous hysteria.

It is what is known in science as positive feedback or a snowball effect. The government is afraid of its constituents. Therefore, it implements draconian measures. The constituents look at the draconian measures and become even more hysterical. They feed each other and the snowball becomes larger and larger until you reach irrational territory. This is nothing more than a flu epidemic if you care to look at the numbers and the data, but people who are in a state of anxiety are blind. If I were making the decisions, I would try to give people the real numbers. And I would never destroy my country.

Mortality due to coronavirus is a fake number. Most people are not dying from coronavirus. Those recording deaths simply change the label. If patients died from leukaemia, from metastatic cancer, from cardiovascular disease or from dementia, they put coronavirus. Also, the number of infected people is fake, because it depends on the number of tests. The more tests you do the more infected people you get.

The only real number is the total number of deaths – all causes of death, not just coronavirus. If you look at those numbers, you will see that every winter we get what is called an excess death rate. That is, during the winter more people die compared to the average, due to regular, seasonal flu epidemics, which nobody cares about. If you look at the coronavirus wave on a graph, you will see that it looks like a spike. Coronavirus comes very fast, but it also goes away very fast. The influenza wave is shallow as it takes three months to pass, but coronavirus takes one month. If you count the number of people who die in terms of excess mortality – which is the area under the curve – you will see that during the coronavirus season, we have had an excess mortality which is about 15 per cent larger than the epidemic of regular flu in 2017.

Compared to that rise, the draconian measures are of biblical proportions. Hundreds of millions of people are suffering. In developing countries many will die from starvation. In developed countries many will die from unemployment. Unemployment is mortality. More people will die from the measures than from the virus. And the people who die from the measures are the breadwinners. They are younger. Among the people who die from coronavirus, the median age is often higher than the life expectancy of the population. What has been done is not proportionate. But people are afraid. People are brainwashed. They do not listen to the data. And that includes governments.

Much more at the link. And speaking of outcomes of Biblical proportions, there is also this to think about.

Two weeks ago, when looking at the recent flurry of chapter 11 filings and a striking correlation between the unemployment rate and loan delinquencies, we said that a “biblical” wave of bankruptcies is about to flood the US economy.

It now appears that the wave is starting to coming because according to Fitch, the monthly tally of defaults in the U.S. leveraged loan market has hit a six-year high, as companies are either missing payments or filing for bankruptcy because of the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking biblically again, there is no doubt that governments around the world have sown the wind. You know what comes next.

“Experts” adviced governments. MSM insisted follow the science, like the climate scam. What could possibly go wrong?

COVID-19 may go down as history’s most devastating example of expert arrogance and media malfeasance. When the history of the pandemic is written, both of these items need to be highlighted. It should also shake our faith in trusting our future to the expert class. And this is exactly the class former President Barack Obama assured us will be running the country in a Joe Biden presidency.

In the meantime, completely unreported by the ABC-TASS media, the USA CDC confirms the remarkably low coronavirus death rate.

In other words it’s nothing new. It’s the ‘flu and doesn’t even seem to be a particularly bad one.

Our clueless, gutless political “leaders”, the Deep State “experts”, and the hysteria-mongering ABC-TASS media should be held accountable for the completely unnecessary disaster that they fomented. But they won’t be. They will be hailed as our “Protectors” and it will be easy for them to continue with the behaviour control and the police state.

Amen, various contributors have made similar points over the last month or so.

Once you engender anxiety and fear it becomes almost impossible to convince of a more benign reality. “The War of the Worlds” Orson Welles radio broadcast on the landing of the Martians caused enormous panic at the time and there were even people that still believed it had really happened months later even though they were assured otherwise.

The “outrage factor” of a death spike.

  7. If you think about the many adults who terrified the shit out of THEIR OWN CHILDREN about a supposed warming 100 years from now and how on Earth is something like that possible, then it’s not hard to see that people are very easily terrified of a supposed imminent danger.

At least with the warming scare, there are oldies (50+) who are sceptical enough about it (or don’t care much about what may or may not happen in 100 years) which kept the panicking numbers a bit lower. But many of these oldies are scared of this virus. I suspect because many lived through the AIDS scare which was real enough to make people change their behaviour. Remember that?

If we were living in harsh times where our daily worries were survival itself, like getting enough to eat each day or trying to keep a roof over our head or trying to protect ourselves and our women from crime, I suspect we wouldn’t panic so much about a virus.
Even if we thought the virus threat was real, we’d still need to carry on with our daily drudge.

No, this panic isn’t because of social media or anything else. This panic is because we have it easier, much much easier than any others that have come before us in 300,000 years.
Even the poorest among us is comparatively richer than 95% of those who came before us.

A good solid pruning and a hard hit by harsh times may be necessary. It will be sad for those who live through it, but it’ll probably be good for those who come after us.
In the past, wars did the trick. Many died, many lost family and many lost wealth and fell on harsh times. Then came the recovery until the next war. No wars as such recently.
Unless people have something else to worry about, panicking them will not be too difficult.

So the internet era, which gives people uprecedented access to information, has resulted only unprecedented ignorance and hysteria — tailor-made for the fascist enemies of freedom who thrive on ignorance and hysteria.

You’d think the proliferation of the $US2 trillion p.a. global warming scam, which thrives on hysteria and ignorance, would have warned us this was coming.

The only modelling worth a pie is done by pretty young women with nice butts and good boobs who walk in an interesting way . The other modelling is pure projection , like trying to pick winners at the races, pureand sheer luck if they get it right ,just think of the number that have failed miserably ,then think of one that actually was correct .

Speaking biblically again, there is no doubt that governments around the world have sown the wind. You know what comes next.

Steve – Like predictive climate computer models (CCM) the predictive Chinese Bat-Bug computer models (CCPBBCM) are first and foremost predicated on a personal and swampish loathing of the inherent virtues of individual freedoms & liberty but also an intense loathing of the common purpose and initiative of private enterprise.

Most people don’t even know that the Science behind responses to the climate hoax and the responses to the bat-bug fiasco are just computer models. This is not science, it’s bullshit in and dinosaur shit out.

The current status of experts with computers and a Government grant is to embellish bullshit to a point that even a bull will walk past, sniff, then comment that that is a lot of bullshit. How the Governments are going to get out of reaping their own whirlwind will be something never before seen.

I don’t know how many arguments like this I’ve just had to walk away from.

People no longer have the will to question the data themselves. They’ll blindly believe the ‘experts’ without even scratching the surface.

Its not necessarily lack of intelligence. I think just lack of common sense.

    Sheep.. the lot of them.

“What you get is fear and anxiety, and an inability to look at real data. ”

Observing the startling difference in road traffic, even outside of peak hours, in the short period since “lockdown” (which it never quite was) has been lifted is an illustration of this.

There’s been no medical break-throughs – no vaccine, no treatment – all that’s really changed is a big drop in the numbers of people returning to Australia with the virus, and yet the change in mass behaviour is startling.

Yoram Lass: It is the first epidemic in history which is accompanied by another epidemic – the virus of the social networks. These new media have brainwashed entire populations.

All by design. Read up on Algorithmic warfare.

These networks were set up precisely to monitor and herd huge swaths of sheeple in one fell swoop.

By monitoring every persons participation and interaction on socialist media and with the use of sophisticated algorithms, they can model the reaction of huge groups of people to any event of their making. This plandemic has been a huge windfall for them and will be added to the data harvest to improve their forecasting in the future.

The data harvesters like farcebook, goolag and twatter, in cahoots with the lame stream media and enabled by our corrupt, traitorous bureaucrats are our biggest enemies. The sheeple don’t stand a chance!

The sheeple don’t stand a chance!

Millions of sheeple downloaded the Govt app.
All for their own good, Comrade!

You can’t help the stupid, egg_.
And they outnumber us a hundred thousand to one.
This battle will not be won with the pen!
