The dumbest kid in his class

I’ve just started writing a children’s book whose first line reads:

“Daniel was the dumbest kid in his class.”

From there it just seems to roll along. My aim is to immortalise incompetence. Victoria may be one of the few jurisdictions in the world that has had to ramp up its restrictions. Certainly no one else in Australia has had to. What an unbelievable buffoon! And so far as I can tell, he accepts no responsibility for any of it. He should at least say something along the lines of how sorry he is. No chance of that!

But what remains worst of all, most people seem grateful.

LATEST NEWS: Victoria lockdown may cost $1bn a week! How do such people get elected?

Of course the silly billies are grateful. They got what they voted for.

How do we ever get to the point of ‘herd immunity’ – remember when that was a goal? – if everyone is to be locked up again at the first sign of new cases? I presume the answer is never, and that the totalitarian agenda of complete subjugation of the people has well and truly taken over.

  3. Perfidious Albino

The number of erstwhile intelligent people I’ve heard comment this afternoon that “of course he’s doing the best he can in the circumstances”, “he’s been dealt a tough hand”, “the other States have just been very lucky”, “if only people had done the right thing”, “the Liberals wouldn’t have done any better”…

Actually, that last one I might agree with!

  4. nb

The remarkable fact is that EVERYONE I have spoken to is buying the cool-aid. It is incomprehensible. Ask an awkward question like ‘what is it all for’ and the answers wobble along like a broken bicycle. Then the consternation begins…
The abuse of trust (or is it abuse of lazy-mindedness?) is astonishing.

  5. Terry

He is so getting re-elected. Victoriastanis love this totalitarian shit.

The yoke is comfortable; self-reliance and freedom are a burden.

Victorianstan – home of the perpetual adolescent (print that on ya number plates).

  6. Yarpos

“This is the situation we find ourselves in” not this is the situation we created with our actions, inactions and PC blindness to the obvious. Then we have the map of hot spots staring everyone in the face.

  7. candy

I think this new “wave” began with the BLM protest because 2 weeks later the first new cases were identified.

Just my opinion, but I think some folks in the protest were in Housing accommodation, or they visited their families or mates in Housing etc, and things developed to now.

Up until the protest, the lock down was consistent and the curve flattened and crushed.

  8. Rob MW

What an unbelievable buffoon! And so far as I can tell, he accepts no responsibility for any of it. He should at least say something along the lines of how sorry he is. No chance of that!

Lol…………… it seems that the virus mutated in Victorianstan, became a bit slow if not entirely uneducated. Being a national cabinet rock star one day, and riding the pale horse the next. Australia, the land of milk, honey and Victorianstan.

  9. Damon

No one has yet grasped that the virus will not be ‘eradicated’, nor will it just go away. The epidemic will wane, as has every previous one. The ridiculous aspect is that it is not particularly dangerous to anyone, apart from a small sub-section of the population.

My friends keep voting for them.

  12. Iampeter

How do such people get elected?

Trump has supporters. Many among those claiming to be right wing and capitalists.
So anything is possible if you’re confused enough.

  13. Lord Muck

Dan the Despot gets elected because it’s a one party state, in effect.

The publicly-owned media and half the privately-owned are firmly in his corner, the public disservice adores him because he keeps the money and jobs flowing, the courts are stacked with fellow-travellers, the police are run by more fellow-travellers and in any case get anything they want, the money flows from the major unions like water, and publicly-owned assets are used to spruik ALP. He is 50% owned by the unions and it would seem 50% by the CCP.

He runs a corrupt party that places no value in democracy, the role of parliament, freedom of speech (witness the shutting down by that useless, idiotic, swinish windbag Neville of any competing news service on public screens) or separation of powers.

He’ll get back in whilst his party mates continue their individual programmes of rorting, theft and self-aggrandisement.

The really bad news is that the rest of the States are on the same track.

  14. egg_

Victoria lockdown may cost $1bn a week!

One road tunnel not built/TheirABC a week?
And the Feds are trying to get efficiencies out of TheirABC!

  15. Iampeter

I think this new “wave” began with the BLM protest because 2 weeks later the first new cases were identified.

But didn’t every state have that? Why is only Victoria having a spike?
Also, wasn’t the plan to always “flatten the curve” and help our hospitals manage? Seems the scope has drifted somewhat. As someone said a few months ago, these lockdowns are going to be about as “temporary” as passports.

  16. egg_

How do we ever get to the point of ‘herd immunity’

D1ckhead Dan’s target was zero cases – a numpty doomed from the start.

  17. egg_

  19. billie

the other mob were completely hopeless, took 4 years to sign a road building project, at the last minute and it was obvious it was a poison pil

do you think victorians enjoyed that?

Dan seems to be all of the above.

Dumb, dimwitted, dense and a dolt. Dumbarse Dan our outstanding leader.

Was Dan conned by his CHO?
Any tension between the two, now?

  23. billie

sure, but at least other stuff is getting done at last, infrastructure, roads and bridges

the Liberals pandered to the left, jumped at every hint of criticism and were terrified of offending anyone, they were paralysed with fear

I don’t vote Labor, but understand the people who do .. what choice is there?

  24. gowest

Dan is a daily reminder of why Victorian private taxpayers should refuse to go back to work and start demonstrating – only then will Dan and his dependent’s get the message. These smartarses dont listen to voters, only direct action will sort them out.

  25. egg_

D1ckhead Dan’s target was zero cases

If so, he knew the beer bug was bullsh1t and was trying to capitalise politically.

  26. Struth

The comments above show exactly how tyranny and evil take freedom.
By being excused as only idiotic or incompetent rule.
Denial certainly isn’t a river in Egypt even here at the cat.

  27. Struth

This will be used as an excuse to crack down again in other states and so on it goes yet corruptible infection figures are meaningless when the virus is not deadly and no one who gets tested positive even knew they felt sick because they didn’t.
They are healthy enough to be shagging security guards yet all this is never mentioned and months later after being imprisoned in your homes again you let Dan off as just being incompetent.
    You deserve all you get.

  28. Struth

The age or insanity is surely upon us.
You can’t be that thick as to not see what is going on here unless you are consciously refusing to.
    It’s all there to see.
You Victorians now know this virus is a mild cold at best and only kills those that either mild colds always finish off….throughout the history of the world. …..until this year understood by all and most other death figures have been proven and admitted to as left wing lies.
The rest of the world is waking up to the hoax and Victorians are allowing a criminal imprison them in their homes again.
You deserve all you get and it’s only then going to make it harder for the rest of us because you are all playing along with this hoax.

  29. Struth

At least go for a drive.
Everyone to your cars ….think up an excuse get in your fucking cars and cause havoc.
Get on social media and block the roads and wear the cops down.
Think up ways to harrass the situation.
Do it or lose your freedom forever.
Do something for God’s sake do something.

  30. Beachcomber

Like Struth says, this is not incompetence or a failure of crisis management. It is crisis fabrication, a deliberate continuation of the viscous charade that is Covid-1984. All the Andrews regime has to do is produce some positive results from the worthless RNA tests and they have a “second wave” of Covid-19 “cases”. No one is actually ill apart from those that might have a common cold or seasonal flu. No one is dying from a deadly new super-infectious virus; but the ABC-Media Ministry of Truth will maintain the ramped-up levels of fear.

The Andrews regime expects that in six weeks time the lumpen-proles will be conditioned to Covid-normal levels of police-state control and there will be no resistance. And they are probably right.

  31. Beachcomber

…. the viscous vicious charade that is Covid-1984.

  32. Struth

    There are none so blind……..

  33. Struth

    It’s just insane.
How would totalitarians act toward this virus if it was detrimental to their power grab.
You wouldn’t even know about it.
No one would and it would disappear before it was ever a thing because it isn’t anything anyway.
Do some of you here think Andrews and co care about the economy. …..or is worried what action he takes has on the next election?
And you call Dan a moron!

  34. egg:

D1ckhead Dan’s target was zero cases – a numpty doomed from the start.

A zero goal gives DD the opportunity to lock up everyone who laughed at him at school.

  35. Struth

So far only one person in the entire MSM is calling out the bullshit.
    Alan Jones.
The outsiders and Credlin are useless on this.
The sad fact is that so many like Rowan Dean fell for the bullshit straight off and shit themselves that their pride won’t allow them to come to conclusions based upon the evidence now available.
The incompetence angle is the only angle they can think up because they will not acknowledge the virus is none leathal bullshit.
Their whole credibility for one would be ruined and two they are basically liberal party hacks.
Andrew Bolt is not a bright man at all…..but Alan jones has been great for two nights.
He’s going to kill the rest of them.

  36. Mark M

Despite the Diamond Princess, there was the Ruby Princess.
Despite the lockdown, there was the Burn, Loot, Murder protests, Brisbane XR climate protests, illegal immigrant protests, security guard fail with government blessing and weasel words.

All inflicted by the progressive moralistic elites charged with the task of ‘protecting’ deplorables.

They can’t be collectively that stupid.

Besides the ballot box, there MUST be some sort of accountability.

Australia’s economy destroyed, jobs lost, families destroyed, dreams dashed.

Warm the tar, collect the goose feathers, we’re gonna have a good ole fashion tar & feather.

  37. Fred Furkenburger

So the last lock down didn’t work so we will see if it will work a second time! These incompetent clowns can’t get it through their thick skulls that lockdowns will never work. A virus will do what a virus will do. Once it enters the population it will, no matter how you try to stop it, spread. So it would be a far better policy to isolate those most at risk, let people isolate as they wish and let the rest of us and the economy get on with our lives.

Then you have to look at “how bad is this disease”? From what I can see it’s probably not as bad as the seasonal flu. These figures come from an official Australian Government website noted below. So as of the 6/7 Victoria has had 2660 cases. Of those there have been 22 deaths. That a death rate of 0.0083%. That is definitely better than the seasonal flu (what’s the bet seasonal flu deaths will be down this year!). Victoria on that date had 31 cases in hospital with 5 in ICU. Most of the deaths have been in the 60 plus age group with comorbidities. The younger ones who have died had comorbities too.

I might add too that probably most of the reason for the increase in cases is that they are doing more tests. On the website below you will see that Victoria has done 962,699 tests with a positive return of only 0.3%. The virus doesn’t appear to be exploding through the population as they are trying to claim.

This is a scam. Andrews and his bully boys are having a ball exerting their control over the public. Andrews is safe. He is still being paid his parliamentary wage and will shortly retire on a hugely inflated parliamentary pension. He doesn’t give a stuff if he destroys the Victorian economy while he enjoys his overbearing dictatorial power!

Was Dan conned by his CHO?
Any tension between the two, now?

Yep, and thats the problem. One thing i learned working in military HQs was: the commander is in charge of the mission, NOT the doc (I was the doc). Another thing i learned was: the fastest way to beat your enemy is to cut their supply lines.

So our strategy has been to let the docs run the war, and to cut our own supply lines. This cannot end well.

  39. Ladyredneck

Why is there no media scrutiny of why Mitchell Shire must suffer along with Greater Melbournistan? Yesterday’s local govt figures showed Mitchell having only 7! active cases. Only a small southern part of that shire abuts the Greater Melb area, where presumably those 7 snifflers addresses are. The vast part of the shire is rural, and probably sniffle free.

  40. Nob

    Fred Furk
That is definitely better than the seasonal flu (what’s the bet seasonal flu deaths will be down this year!).

    Read this and weep:

May 2020 Australia flu cases down by 99% on May 2019

Possibly means less immunity next year

  41. Rabbi Putin

The last Liberal government in Victoria was very limp-wristed. But that road they eventually promised would have solved a major traffic bottleneck and flipped off the northern suburbs at the same time had it actually been allowed to be built.

I know the current Liberal leader, Michael O’Brien, comes off as a preppie-boy who at best would govern from the inoffensive centre as per Scott Morrison, but he would still be orders of magnitude better than Dickears Dan. Beggars can’t be choosers and he’s the only alternative on the table, seeing as the public refuse to take up a minor party on a large enough scale to influence the landscape.

  42. John Bayley

sure, but at least other stuff is getting done at last, infrastructure, roads and bridges

Yes, with the able help of the CFMMEU, at around 40% mark-up.
    Thank you, taxpayers.

Yes, the Liberals are way past their use-by date. So what?
How about we vote for a third party, finally? To get rid of the Laboral uni-party once and for all?
For myself, I can’t see that happening.
The average turkey (aka voter) will happily vote for Christmas – as long as s/he can believe s/he’ll not be the first one to be eaten.

The age or insanity is surely upon us.

You can say that again, and again, and again…and it’ll still be the truth.
    Few are paying attention, though.

I’m probably exaggerating, but are the same people who shrieked in horror and clutched their pearls when a Republican wrote an op-ed saying the Feds needed to use the military to control rioters in the US, now cheering, or at least silent, when Daniel Andrews asks for ADF personnel to ‘help patrol’ the ‘borders’ of Melbourne? “How do such people get elected?”

Surely your question is rhetorical. The incompetents get elected to be a candidate because they stack branches with falsies and those with, how can I day this delicately, intellectual buffoons. Next they produce a welfare state in which less than half the grown ups (physically, not mentally) are net contributors to tax income such that the non taxed want to keep their snouts in the trough. Then the opposition are just as incompetent but even more lazy, happy to draw their stipend without doing any work. That, Steve is how they get elected.

Alan Jones has called it out from the very very beginning — he said that it was a serious virus which was flu-like and that those most at risk should be protected, the elderly, the frail, the medically/health compromised, and to wash your hands and stay home if/when you’re sick – not everyone testing positive is gonna die. The number of positive cases must be compared to the number in critical in ICU, on ventilators, in hospital or who’ve died. Without that comparison the scaremongering continues.

  68. Spurgeon Monkfish III

Andrews asks for ADF personnel to ‘help patrol’ the ‘borders’ of Melbourne?

Gee, funny that – but he wouldn’t allow the same ADF to manage the Mosquebourne hotel quarantine procedures.

Second worst day: Victoria records another 134 cases
Victoria has recorded another 134 cases, 75 of which are linked to public housing towers in lockdown as NSW border shuts.

Would this not be due to increased testing? How many people tested would have even known they had Bat Flu?
