Only The Truth – Not a Vaccine – Can Set Us Free

THE Grattan Institute’s Stephen Duckett and Will Mackey are not medicos, epidemiologists or even academic scientists. More importantly perhaps, they’re not historians or philosophers. They’re economists. Duckett is a public servant and Mackey a graduate student. Their thesis – that Australia should close its borders and accept “yo-yoing between partial freedom and hard lockdown” until coronavirus is ‘eliminated’ or a vaccine developed – could only have been written by men who do not run a business, do not have to venture beyond their laptops to make a living and do not place great value on personal freedom (vis-a-vis a virus that is harmless to almost everybody). Of course, you wouldn’t know COVID is preponderantly benign – verging on physically irrelevant – if you relied on virtually any Australian commentator, journalist or politician. The media is heavily committed to melodrama and ‘crisis’ (as always) and the “National Cabinet” is in way too deep to come clean with voters; that confession would attract an electoral penance for the ages. We’re way past three Hail Marys. Beyond mere politics, the liability for admitting the pandemic “catastrophe” is man-made would cripple the moral authority of government itself for decades. They think that would be a bad thing.

I say it would be a good thing if voters – yes, voters; it sounds almost antiquated, doesn’t it? – were told the truth. The truth is coronavirus cannot be “eliminated,” lockdowns do not work but only postpone a resurgence of “cases” (very few of which will be fatal) and democratic society as we know it cannot continue if the state – qua yo-yo master – imprisons entire populations to save fewer lives than are lost in a single weekend on our roads. At some point – sooner would be better – exterminating liberty, wealth and the rule of law because of a prideful desire to snatch victory from the jaws of idiocy will be called off. “Some day this war’s gonna end,” Colonel Kilgore sadly tells Captain Willard in Apocalypse Now. The Kilgores are still running the campaign, though whether they actually believe in the hopeless cause or just love the smell of relevance in the morning is impossible to tell. Either way, my point is this: there is no better time than now to weaken the authority of the state by exposing reactionary fallibility dictatorially sandbagged.

Over the past week or so, we’ve seen a lot of sanctimonious high-fiving from lockdowners about the alleged toll for Sweden and the United States of erring on the side of prudent socio-economic openness. One of the most voluble of the school has been Ray Hadley. A man who has spent more time sounding off in a glass booth than most payphones, the germ-proof but virus-frightened 2GB number 2 has taken to conflating lockdown sceptics with anti-vaxxers. Greg Sheridan and the Keating-ites at The Australian have been comparably hysterical. That newspaper’s many editorialists include a goodly number who were always impressed by the former Treasurer’s belief in solving big conundrums by knowing when – and how robustly – to pull government “levers.” Too few ever scoffed at these motorman delusions. Now they’re praising or castigating today’s politicians for their lever-work. This is big government hubris of Lyndon Johnson proportions.

…the death of a single nonagenarian in Victoria has led to detentions, renditions, the deployment of spy drones and the mobilisation of the army.”

It’s very easy to tut-tut the Swedes and the Americans but whether they suffer more excess deaths than their neighbour states or not – even whether their economies fare better or worse – is not the key moral criterion of their sagacity. It’s not even the key technocratic one. They have bravely maintained a sensible and safe leash on police statism. That is a life-affirming and life-safeguarding achievement. By comparison, the death of a single nonagenarian in Victoria has led to detentions, renditions, the deployment of spy drones and the mobilisation of the army. That level of gutlessness will not be easily lived down and will cost future generations a lot more than money. We eagerly await a vaccine but truth and humility from our leaders will do more good – both in the mean time and as a general, immovable rule.

Last night I drove from Melbourne to Geelong to visit my girlfriend. Which I am allowed to do under the rules. Expecting that I would encounter some incompetent police I even printed a copy of the rules to show them should the need arise.

Low and behold I get to the checkpoint on the Princes Freeway at Little River and drive straight through. No police, no soldiers, no one checking anything. Lots of flashing lights and witches hats though. There were a few keystone cops sitting in their BMWs on the side of the road. Probably eating doughnuts.

So the Chinese thought at the start of the Communist takeover.
Should Hong Kong residence just sit and wait for it to be over?
It’s all going to fall apart and liberty will be restored?
How long was it after the Russian revolution until the collapse of the USSR?
How many millions and millions of deaths and how much human suffering and misery.

Sorry but what an idiotic thing to say, CL.
We will most likely all be dead and buried, our children long gone too, before that time comes.

It is dangerous to make reassuring statements like that which promote an idea people can just sit and wait this out.

The 10% in our population that are vulnerable need to be supported and special hygiene and health protocols applied to their environments, but the rest of us should be allowed to get on with our lives. The incredible over-reach and draconian measures deployed by self appointed health Stasi and poliltical masters is a violation of our rights and freedoms. I would like to march them all down Burke street and have them walk backwards in their underpants. They are grand-standing little men and women who have no idea about real life or risk. A pox on them.

  5. Rob

More than anything else, this is media driven mass hysteria.
As his frantic contribution this morning, 3AW’s Neil Mitchell is driving a campaign for everybody to wear masks.
Not once has he ever told his audience that Coronavirus deaths, at just 4 per million Australians, is extremely low.
Nor does he remind his innocent listeners that for 98% of those infected, the symptoms are flu like.

  6. Turtle

    I agree with all that

  7. Alan Umbers

Henry Ergas in the Aus today has an excellent piece. Terrific.

  8. mem

Nor does he remind his innocent listeners that for 98% of those infected, the symptoms are flu like.

Most people don’t even know they have it!

  9. sfw

Yep, Mitchell is a disgrace. He hasn’t (or appears not to have) done any research, he just repeats the gov line. Soft balls all interviews with the gov and police and so called experts. He along with Dear leader Dan, Morrison and the experts have terrified many many people, especially women. If they were in charge during the blitz in WW2, instead of saying ‘Keep calm and carry on’ they would have been screaming “we’re all gunna die!!”
All this time the Libs are soft and silent, except for that one bloke from Kew who is trying.

Hmm, someone had better look into who is funding his Chinese Cultural Imperial Outreach program.

I’ve noted before that it’s very weird that coincidentally every single “correct” response to this virus pushed from our opinion influencers is always, 100% of the time, for us to become culturally more like China.

    It’s all a pure coincidence I’m sure!

It’s not meant to be a “reassuring statement,” Struth.

When a vaccine is produced, or if, hard to imagine how it will be when just about everyone in the world wants it. Chaos, and will it be free or cost a lot. Will third world nations have it or will the wealthier countries and wealthier people snap it up first Black markets, etc.

  16. H B Bear

A vaccine and all this kabuki theatre ends, That doesn’t mean there will ever be one.

  17. Ceres

Close relative is in Houston and he said no way could Houston be locked down like Melbourne. Everyone has guns and that fact helps keep the Government from overreaching with personal freedom. He’s in Health industry and until recently anyone with respiratory problems was classified as a covid death without being tested, because of extra Federal money.
Australian government are so all invested in this now how can they manipulate their way out of all these lockdowns which just kick the can further down the timeline? Maybe the only way is to say that the virus has mutated to a weak strain that the medical “experts” decree, is okay. The fact that there most cases are asymptomatic or mild has been the case for most people right from the start. We don’t hear of the severity of the latest 130 cases or whatever now, and we don’t hear what the testing numbers are in each State.
It all stinks to high heaven as we end up a basket case.

  18. Entropy

Until most of the world develops immunity, one way or another, there will be regular flare ups, on and on. These lockdown approaches cannot continue. Already no doubt the cure is worse than the disease.

  19. Shy Ted

Follow the money. There are so many gummint ads on the various channels they’re being paid to repeat the gummint line. With your taxes. Worst PM ever.

  20. Mother Lode

At some point, still in a panic but this time economic, they will start gravitating in increasing numbers toward any ‘report’ stating that the virus has mutated into a more benign or less contagious form.

The only reason for the continued lockdown is that our leaders don’t know how to back out of the corner they walked into.

It’s not meant to be a “reassuring statement,” Struth.

Do you want blokes armed with 4-10s to start shooting National Cabinet members or something?

    Yes.
However, seeing we are disarmed, here’s something that may work even better.
Humour and antagonism on a grand scale.

People just ignore the lock downs.
Don’t pay fines and of course where the unlawfully operating government thugs called police are road blocking, set up diversions, our internet still works when you are in your cars.
    Sheep are easy to control.
Lets call it the Herding Cats Retaliation Plan.
We need to be the inventive Aussies in the prison camps forcing the little jap commandant to scream in tears of frustration.
We need to sabotage, etc, but most importantly we must make it as hard as it can possibly be to enforce their tyrannical control over us.
I believe it is happening to an extent in Melbourne anyway, but hopefully it will become organised because once they are made to look ridiculous but more importantly, lost control, they are gone.
And we have space to operate unlike Honkers.
    So there’s one suggestion anyway.

Mocking, antagonising, confronting and frustrating all involved in the enforcement of Tyranny.
    But we must be active.
No good making statements that suggest as you did, if we just wait it out it will naturally end.
Sorry, but that’s how I feel about it.

At some point it will be called off..

…as it has been in China?

Our expert advisory committee Nervtech met again this week to consider all of these matters and we do remain convinced that there just isn’t the evidence base to support general mask wearing use by the public. You’ve probably seen the paper that was released four days ago on bio XIV by Paul Hunter’s team from the university of East Anglia. They have been through all of that evidence again.

The plan appears to drive people, under the globalist plan of perpetual war/lockdown, to wear people down so they cry out for a vaccine. Its dishonedt and morally repugnant and abusive.

The elite are trying to discredit and ban stuff that works, like hydroxycholoquine.

The information below needs to be told to everyone, especialky politicians and your friends and anyone in victoria….

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-italy-virus-idUSKBN2370OQ

“ROME (Reuters) – The new coronavirus is losing its potency and has become much less lethal, a senior Italian doctor said on Sunday.

“”In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” said Alberto Zangrillo, the head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan in the northern region of Lombardy, which has borne the brunt of Italy’s coronavirus contagion.

“Zangrillo said some experts were too alarmist about the prospect of a second wave of infections and politicians needed to take into account the new reality.

“”We’ve got to get back to being a normal country,” he said. “Someone has to take responsibility for terrorizing the country.”

What are the Lad’s own qualifications? Is he an epidemiologist?

In 2009 the worlds leading epidemiologists swore to us millions up millions would die from Swine Flu. Leading epidemiolgists ordered that we absolutely must have hundreds of millions of vials of Tamiflu stockpiled forever or we would all die.

In 2011 Tamiflu was proven to be about as effective as chicken soup. Roche took over a billion dollars from taxpayers around the world.

The entire scientific apparatus that comes into contact with public policy at any level is compromised by money and power. Modern Science!(tm) has no built in safe guards to mass prevent political and financial corruption from taking hold inside it. The best it has is “peer review” and “ethics boards” – basically medieval level systems of oversight.

  29. Struth

To add to that CL, the third world shows us that they are third world because of their corrupt governments.
So they become impossible to govern and control.
Many third world countries are much more free than ours.
You know, those chaotic countries with traffic going everywhere and no one knows what a road rule is.
People, ten on a bloody scooter with no helmets etc.

How could they possibly be controlled?
If the police moved in to control something, it would work around them pop up somewhere else, etc.
Look at Italy….ok, they had the fear of god put into them so went into their houses and locked down, but before that, the police and government are disregarded and life goes on , as it is more a live by Christianity than government culture.

Now we don’t want to be third world, but bowing down to tyranny will bring us their anyway, and be absolutely horrific, where just ignoring government and frustrating it is not the best situation either, but unfortunately the rule of law has been ignored…….we have lost legal government, that is representative government…it’s gone, and this new form of government is illegitimate. Completely illegitimate.
We must not bow to it by doing anything it demands, until it is back under our control.

There’s a lot to be said against epidemiologists – they seem to be medicine’s answer to those econometricians who calculate ‘jobs created’ from ‘fiscal stimulus’ to the 10th job. The Grattan folks have tendency (not always followed) to do that sort of thing. But it’s no argument against their work that they aren’t drilled in that practice – there’s good reason to take a fresh view; and science is sceptical, etc

… you wouldn’t know COVID is preponderantly benign …

On average 440 Australians die per day.

106 Australians have died with Covid 19 in six months.

So it has taken 6 months for Covid 19 to achieve less deaths that naturally occur in less than 6 hours.

How many times have we thought we have reached peak stupid?

The people in charge are being paid way too much and that isn’t going to stop.
Andrews has sold out to the Chinese, as if he cares about the future of Australia.
You are still thinking like they want to collect revenue for government programs to run for the benefit of us all……..after all this, after years of not letting one new mine operate or cheap power be available for industry, etc etc…………………corruption (tyrannical government) doesn’t want to supply services, it wants you to serve it.

Nah mate, a vaccine and all this kabuki theatre gets validated.
I hope a vaccine is never developed. Because if one is developed, you can bet your bottom dollar that everybody but everybody MUST get vaccinated.
Those who refuse will be cast out of society. You may even not be able to enter a supermarket to get your groceries unless you are vaccinated.

Our governments at all levels will introduce legislation allowing them to do this (use us like cattle). Many/most will fully support it (First in line and most vocal will be vile self-important pricks like Neil Mitchell) and a template will be set and secured by law for the next scheme.

  44. Dr Faustus

    A Truth:

Flu deaths prevented as cases plummet amid coronavirus lockdowns, AMA says

So, despite the availability flu vaccine, a relaxation of coronavirus travel restrictions/lockdowns/distancing is going to result in 1500 to 3000 additional seasonal flu deaths – every year. As it always has.

Which CMO is is going to take responsibility for that?

  45. H B Bear

What we have with Covid is, in part, simply the same problem we have with the health system at large. There is a (perhaps very small) subset of the population that says because modern medicine can save a life we (that is in a socialised health system the government) should do so, also hip replacements for 80yo. Of course in practice doctors routinely decide which patients get resources and theatre time. With Covid government has, I would argue for political purposes, presented that the whole population has a similar risk of dying. This has never been the case. Media has not helped, reporting Covid deaths, not deaths of very old people with numerous health issues that had Covid. Early media coverage of Northern Italy with overflowing wards helped this idea that everyone was vulnerable in the face of Covid.

The early response was legitimate in the face of a new, unknown threat. How long since you have heard, “Flatten the Curve”? The time when Australia’s health system could cope with even a national outbreak of the virus was passed weeks ago. Somewhere along the line State Premiers and their armies of media advisors realised that Covid (and incumbency) were the best thing since sliced bread as they sought to benefit from delivering a grateful populace from random, imminent death, with the help of uninformed compliant media.

Now we learn there is dozens of cases in Chairman Dan’s Towers of Death. Why? Because they had the virus and showed no symptoms. Hardly bring out your dead stuff.

Hopefully a widely available vaccine will put an end to this BS.

why hasn’t this article been quoted by our covid-obsessed media? written by a regional reporter just weeks prior to lockdown! are we to enforce lockdowns every flu season from now on?

11 Feb: ABC: Flu season which struck down 310,000 Australians ‘worst on record’ due to early outbreaks
ABC Sunshine Coast / By Tara Cassidy
Last year, Australia experienced its worst flu season on record, with more than 310,000 people presenting to hospital and health services nationwide.
The figure is seven times greater than Australia’s previous 18-year average…
“Definitely in terms of influenza seasons 2019 was the biggest Australia has had … it was very unusual,” Dr Barr said…

Queensland Health Minister, Stephen Miles, said the intense season put a major strain on hospital and health services nationwide, which would have to incorporate early outbreaks into future planning.
“Certainly the levels we saw, it took a very high toll on the community and the health system,” he said…

“I wouldn’t say the vaccine had too much of an impact on that [severe season last year], the season was already in the starter gates and running before most vaccines were even given out,” he said.
“Given the significant number of cases in March and April — the vaccine isn’t even available during that time, and it normally takes a couple of weeks after being vaccinated to reach peak immunity…
According to Dr Barr, vaccines are created based on strains circulating in the northern hemisphere, which meant it would be difficult to bring forward a release date in Australia.
He said current vaccines only last three to six months, so early immunisation would also mean they may not last through the peak months of July and August…

While 2019 saw the highest number of influenza cases across the country, 2017 still holds the record for the highest number of flu-related deaths, with over 1,100 cases.
Last year there were over 900 influenza linked deaths in Australia.

can’t recall anything like these hospital emergencies during covid! and can’t recall any public service ads on the media as this unfolded, not even “wash your hands”:

28 Mar 2019: Brisbane Times: ‘Code yellow’ lifts at south-east Queensland hospitals
    By Felicity Caldwell
All south-east Queensland hospitals are now off “code yellow” after patients were warned to stay away from emergency departments on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young activated the state health emergency centre to meet the “unprecedented” demand, with all hospitals across Metro North, Metro South and the Gold Coast districts stretched to capacity.

About 10.30am, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said all 10 hospitals affected had lifted their code yellow status.
“You can call it emergency, you can call it crisis … I accept my responsibility and I expect the federal government to accept their responsibility,” she said during question time…
Mr Miles said emergency departments often experienced pressure during winter but the system had never seen this kind of sustained increase in demand for hospitals across south-east Queensland outside of winter…

Authorities have blamed a spike in summer flu cases and aged care patients taking up beds in emergency departments for the crisis…
LNP leader Deb Frecklington: “This crisis has been in the making for many months,” she said.
“They should have planned for the summer flu, they should have planned for the winter flu, they should have planned for bed block.”

29 Mar 2019: news.com.au: Record flu numbers sweep Australia in unexpected season
Hospitals are full and infected people have died in an unseasonal spike of illness across the country.
    by Stephanie Bedo; With AAP
A tsunami of sick people flooding hospitals across the country has been exacerbated by earlier than expected record flu numbers…
Across the country figures are nearly double those recorded each month last year
National notifications in the past quarter to March 1 are 2.9 times the quarterly rolling five year mean…

Queensland and NSW have been worst hit followed by Victoria and South Australia.
Queensland hospitals have been at capacity across the last year thanks to a “tsunami of admissions” never before seen in the state at this time of year.
Ten hospitals in the state’s southeast were on code yellow for two days, declared when hospitals are essentially full and cannot meet public demand for health services…

Flu activity has been “elevated” across NSW, with respiratory presentations to emergency departments above the average for this time of year.

Scientists don’t expect a coronavirus vaccine to be nearly as protective as the measles shot

Vaccine experts say it’s time to set public expectations. Many scientists don’t expect a coronavirus vaccine to be nearly as protective as the measles shot.

If the best COVID-19 vaccine is only 50% effective, “that’s still to me a great vaccine,” said Dr. Drew Weissman of the University of Pennsylvania.

We need to start having this conversation now,” so people won’t be surprised, he added.

Looks like the people who will be most surprised are the politicians relying on the effectiveness of a vaccine to “get things back to normal“.

If you have to go looking for a virus because people show no symptoms when they have it, testing thousands of them while your hospitals are empty,… because they are not dying from it, not even sick enough from it to need hospitalisation……….and then you demand the imprisonment and denial of liberty to millions of healthy people to control it, you are either absolutely certifiably insane, completely without brains, a tyrant , or d)all of the above.
Either way, you are the one who should be imprisoned.

The fact that there most cases are asymptomatic or mild has been the case for most people right from the start. We don’t hear of the severity of the latest 130 cases or whatever now, and we don’t hear what the testing numbers are in each State.

You can find the testing numbers per state here. Note that Victoria has conducted far more tests per population than all the other states, so obviously they are going to find more cases of the Wuhan Virus.

If all the other states were to match Victoria’s testing regime, they too would find a larger number of active cases. Is all this testing necessary, it appears that the Victorian government is trying to find a reason to justify its heavy handed lockdown.

Word now has it that Andrews copped enormous flack from within his own party for closing down the towers. Many saw this as seeming potentially “discriminatory” and hard to justify. The Greens, remember this is Bandt territory, were similarly off side. So what did Andrews do? He ramped up testing around Melbourne so he could seem even handed by closing down the rest of Melbourne.

I think it is an own goal by Andrews, in that I believe it is doing great harm to his “popularity” (as a Victorian I always thought: WTF! Andrews is actually popular with some people?), and hopefully destroying his chances of re-election.

The plan appears to drive people, under the globalist plan of perpetual war/lockdown, to wear people down so they cry out for a vaccine. Its dishonest and morally repugnant and abusive.

This comment by Steve hits the nail exactly on the head.

Covid-19 is operating on many different levels. This virus has affected the mind much more than the body, co-morbidities notwithstanding, for its main impact has one of fear and uncertainty rather than illness.

Driven by a failing and corrupt media establishment that ran with the sirens’ songs of models and slanted, incomplete information (obfuscation through omission, or obscurantism), much along the lines of the global warming imbroglio, not in order to reduce panic, illness or to even save lives but in order to help establish a tyrannical process of morbid obedience and compliance. As Friedrich Nietzsche said about obscurantism:
The essential element in the black art of obscurantism is not that it wants to darken individual understanding, but that it wants to blacken our picture of the world, and darken our idea of existence.
Well, they have succeeded in that!

    So far.

Conflicting and misleading information has ruled the day with obsequious politicians subsuming their authority to a gaggle of health officials who rode to power on the back of convenient legislation packages introduced slowly and incrementally of over a number of years, with the aim that mandatory or compulsory vaccinations would be required by the citizenry in order to partake as a fully fledged, obedient member of society. (Shades of social credit, perhaps?) This they did on the back of modelling (Imperial College Model) that proved to be as misguided and alarming as climate alarmism but with some added advantages: the deconstruction of our economy and restrictions on our free movement, all wrapped up in a contrived fear engendered to create a morbid obedience to a power that few kine could control or understand. In other words, Covid could be construed as a psyops (psychological operation – look it up).

This is but one aspect of Covid but helps explain why a vaccine [patent pending] is touted as a necessary requirement before we can open our society and economy again, even though hydroxychloroquine (combined with zinc, I think it is) has had very good results [no patent]. See the difference?

As usual, don’t take my word for any of this; do your own research. Note: observations are not endorsements.

This is worth watching all the way through: BOOM! Guess Who is Calling the Shots on Human Experimentation? Bill Gates makes some interesting comments around the 14 minute mark.

Interesting background info (note date: October 2019): Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, World Economic Forum and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Host Pandemic Exercise and Livestream

    From the article (paraphrased):
The exercise underscores the need for global public-private cooperation to
mitigate economic and societal impacts of severe pandemics.
    . . .
Event 201, played by 15 leaders of businesses, governments, and public health,
will illustrate realistic policy problems that must be addressed under
    pressure during a pandemic.
    . . .
We’ve designed Event 201 to engage leaders in compelling ways to help them
understand the decisions needed to prepare for and respond to biological
    threats.

Food for thought. (Sorry about the long comment).

  59. Struth

John Smith is exactly on the ball.
However John, we have been banging away about event 201 here for months.
We have talked about their planned “FLOOD” messaging, the fact China could only get out of a trade deal with a pandemic announced, Trump’s American economy and Trump himself going great guns that needed to be stopped, who the arseholes are that attended and organised event 201, made dam clear there is a very easy way of achieving what has happened when the media and institutions of the west have been marched through, and on and on.
Fauci and his financial interest with gates in their vaccines.

Then someone will immediately make some statement like, we don’t need those bloody Victorians crossing the border, or “that bloody cruise ship” or the ever stupid “we nearly had it beaten”.

The problem is, with all these facts, it points to a worse scenario than a flu Virus and people will purposefully ignore the facts and pretend to themselves the virus is the real concern as a way of coping.
Which is deadly for our civilisation because time is of the essence, although I’m beginning to fear, already too late.

Struth, what about the banks? How much more stress can they take?

I agree that, at this point, the governments have just stopped caring about the economy. But nothing focuses the mind like some bank runs.

  64. Old Lefty

The negligence of the Victorian government in managing quarantine etc is beyond doubt. If anyone wonders what they have been doing (apart from issuing adolescent Marxist tweets), I think I have a pointer towards an answer.

St Dominic’s priory in Camberwell has been ordered to stop live streaming its services because more than five people participate. The church is closed to the public and the friars enter through a connecting door from the house where they live.

This is stupid and pointless ideological spite, part of the Andrews government’s crusade against Christianity. Why not also ban the telecasting or streaming of movies with more than five people in them?

But the ideological malice is not the only scandal. Instead of monitoring real hotspots and enforcing basic standards in quarantine management, the powers that be have been wasting their time on ideological frolics like this. They have obviously been monitoring webcasts, as if they had nothing better to do. Big Brother (or is that Big Sibling, Gender-Fluid?) is watching you. (Unlike a school of another religion that is politically untouchable).

No wonder it has been such a fiasco.

  65. John Smith101

John Smith is exactly on the ball.
    Thanks Struth.
people will purposefully ignore the facts and pretend to themselves the virus is the real concern as a way of coping.
Not unreasonable given the circumstances and the amount of conflicting information we have been given regarding Covid, and certainly not unreasonable given the exposures to come that have been acted upon under the cover of Covid (Maxwell’s arrest is a big clue). Many people, including some here at the Cat, will have great difficulty in dealing with these disclosures.
Which is deadly for our civilisation because time is of the essence, although I’m beginning to fear, already too late.
Call me naive but I’m quite optimistic about the future, once these other disclosures are made public. Many of us (the anons), globally, have been working and researching ‘behind the scenes’ for some time now to help make this happen. Also, we need all the help we can get but that involves lots of research and investigating some very dark and deep ‘rabbit holes.’ Not for everyone.
Personally, I think this (Covid) will be over once the 2020 Presidential election is over. The Dems want mail-in votes and no Trump rallies so will likely continue with these shenanigans until then. The globalists (deep state) need Trump out of the way so that they can continue with their malfeasance (and stay out of jail)!

We have become so used to a peaceful safe world that we all are set in a psychological tailspsin by the idea that anyone dies of anything other than old age. We are victims of our own success.

Melbourne 2nd lockdown: fool me once…

Even the first lockdowns or national quarantines were criminally stupid, economically devastating, and the people responsible for them should get a life in prison or be executed. But doing the same thing again, for such a long time, even when everyone in the world who hasn’t lost the last traces of the independent brain activity knows that the lockdowns were a pure disaster that has brought nothing positive to virtually anybody? It’s just incredible.

Look at the current outrage in Victoria over stage 3 lockdowns, with the benefit of hindsight.

Most of the old, sick and/or obese people who have been saved from COVID by the lockdown have probably died anyway because of their pre-existing conditions. I tried to post this comment on a relevant article on The Australian’s website but it was rejected.

My dad would have celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday if not for ‘The Big C’ coming knocking last April so I understand the loss of a family member is a personal tragedy but we have overblown this by a ridiculous order of magnitude.

    A few numerical facts:

    – current life expectancy for Australians is M=80.7 years and F=84.9 years
    – Median age of people who have died with (not of) CV-19 in Aus is 80 years
    – 2.9M tests completed (approx. 12% of total population)
    – 0.3% +ve for CV19

The plan appears to drive people, under the globalist plan of perpetual war/lockdown, to wear people down so they cry out for a vaccine. Its dishonedt and morally repugnant and abusive.

The trick is even better if they ship a vaccine that hardly works at all … because the average dopey punter can’t measure how well it works, so they just have to take the expert doctor’s word for it. Those who ask questions will end up identifying themselves as enemies of the regime, and most people know that so most people simply don’t ask any questions. Then if there’s another outbreak scapegoats must be found because it’s obviously those waskally anti-waxers who caused the outbreak.

You have to remember that socialism is never about fixing anything … it’s about fostering dissatisfaction so the people can be set at each other’s throats … divide and conquer, identity politics, finding someone to blame. Keep people afraid, confused, and powerless.

Their ABC is back at it again with the co-ordinated push for “elimination” – absolutely blatant stuff from an outfit that justifies its billion bucks a year on the basis of balance and being open to a range of views.

Whether it’s public or private broadcasters, academics, think tankers, or assorted other obsessives, neurotics and control freaks, they all overlook the bleeding obvious (to anyone who is not in complete and utter denial about what happened in Victoriastan) point that the elimination strategy is only as strong as its weakest link.

Comparisons with the enchanted realm of Princess Jacinda overlook the point that a country which is very much smaller physically and in population than us, and which has a unitary government with no pesky upper house, can control things much more easily than the Tower of Babel which is Straya.

  90. Bushkid

If the best COVID-19 vaccine is only 50% effective, “that’s still to me a great vaccine,” said Dr. Drew Weissman of the University of Pennsylvania.

It’s certainly not what governments (and the pharmaceutical industry) are touting as a magic answer to “getting us all out of lockdown.” It they think it is, well it’s just another proof that we have allowed ourselves to be governed by idiots.

  93. Rabbi Putin

Struth is right, there needs to be real punishment for the media peddlers of this mass-hysteria and loathsome treasonous totalitarianism of the politicians, police force and ivory-tower “experts”.

As it stands the only group who stand to get any “punishment” at all are the politicians who might eventually lose elections, but then still retain fat lifetime pensions and then get ushered into cushy board positions in super-funds, large corporations or pseudo-charities care of the networking privilege they had when in politics. So in other words, not really a punishment at all.

This is how the stupidity never ends in this country. The elites who destroy our lives have no real skin in the game. That needs to change. Capital punishment, hard prison-time and crippling wealth/asset confiscations are all reasonable options imo.
