Now that we have brought this up, watch what happens.

    My guess.
People will be found to be asking the Federal government to take over because……. Dan Andrews.
You watch the calls go out for federal intervention!
Yet the federal government is initially to blame for subcontracting out in the first place.
At least there will be accountability.

In NSW, our local Bunning was strictly enforcing the rules with only a certain number allowed inside at a time and security enforcing it. At one point when the queue was several 100 people long, they closed the car park until the line was manageable again.

Several of my students work there and they said uniformed police were popping in at least hourly to check the rules were not being broken. There were also plainclothes coming in as well. So if that is being “left entirely alone”, I would hate to see what you woud call a police state.

    Crime must be booming.

My ex-police colleagues have given up trying to stop black youths carrying guns and knives because it puts their careers at risk

Kevin Hurley is a British politician and former police officer. He was the Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner between 2012 and 2016. He served in the Metropolitan Police, reaching the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent. He was also an officer of the Territorial Army, first in the Parachute Regiment and then the Royal Military Police.

Young black men are 25 times more likely to be murdered, yet any initiative to try to discuss why this is, or to use software to identify whether different ethnic groups “specialise” in particular types of crime, is deemed taboo.

Most pollies are money corrupt, they enrich themselves while holding office by selling out the interests of the punters. Buma is money corrupt; he had the arse out of his pants when he became Potus and when he left he paid $35 mill cash for one of the best waterside houses in Martha’s Vineyard.

But buma is also ideologically corrupt; he politicised every bureaucracy in the US and tried to bring down his successor. He leaves every other crooked Potus for dead. In a just world this bastard would be shot at dawn for treason. Not that I’m advocating violence.

There’s no need to enforce. It’s a reversal of the Kenyan’s executive order requiring low income housing built in the burbs. ‘In direct defiance of not only the Premier’s plea, but the law, a quarter of COVID-positive Victorians this week refused to self-isolate.’

Imagine if they all wrote letters.

  30. Cardimona

I, too, wrote to Pete Credlin…

    G’day Peta

Have you noticed that it’s all the same prime movers behind the past media saturation regarding “climate change” and the present media flooding about “coronavirus”?

The UN-IPCC for climate and the UN-WHO for covid-19.
The tech giants banning messages supporting valid treatments.
The US Democrats and their left-wing fellow travellers.
All Australian political parties, including your husband’s.

    Why?

None of the climate change predictions have come to pass in 40 years.
There’s a new coronavirus or two every year.
The same people are dying of covid-19 that would have died of whatever flu came around.

Is that really worth destroying our economy for?
Will we do it again next year?
    What’s really driving it?

The US President and independent doctors have stated clearly there is a treatment for covid-19.
    HCQ + azithromycin + zinc.
But Google et. al. block that news.
Which is causing people to die unnecessarily.

Australians are dying unnecessarily of a treatable disease.
    What would you call that?
Are our politicians and bureaucrats accessories to that?

    There is no cure.
“Elimination” isn’t possible, the coronavirus will inevitably spread.
“Elimination” is mission creep with an impossible objective.

The only thing we had to do was “flatten the curve”.
    The curve is flat.
To achieve that we only had to close the international border.

There’s all the same language, too.
Apparently I’m a “covid denier” for asking on-target questions, ffs…

The “pandemic” is more political than medical.
    Why?

If Biden wins in November, covid-19 will disappear like smoke on the water.
If Trump wins it will be lockdowns forever.

Where are you in the overall scheme of things, Peta?
Are you part of the solution or part of the problem?

    Cheers

    Hi Alan

What if it turns out that COVID-19 is not as bad as first thought?

What if our medical bureaucrats over-reacted?

What if the death toll from lockdown suicides and delayed medical attention to other ailments was higher than from COVID-19?

Will our nation’s journalists experience guilt for publishing only the official position and for not conducting their own investigative journalistic enquiries?

On the constitutional questions letters, I’ve had three more replies (with Katinka from Larissa Waters office having been the first).

    Malcom Roberts staffer says….

Your questions do not really lend themselves to yes or no answers.
I will attempt to answer them, though briefly.
As this Office is not extensively resourced, I suggest that from now on questions of this nature be best addressed elsewhere as we do not offer a dedicated research service.
These answers are not to be considered legal advice and should not be relied on for that purpose.

    Q 1.
The Australian Constitution is a significant document that sets out the powers and jurisdictions of the Commonwealth and some of those jurisdictions shared with the States.

    Q 2.
The Constitution is interpreted by the High Court from time to time and the Court has recognised there may be some exceptional circumstances when strict law interpretations are not appropriate. One such circumstance has included the application of public health management needs.

    Q 3.
If a State law or Commonwealth law is inconsistent with the Constitution it is considered unconstitutional and considered invalid. It does not need to rely on s109. If a valid State law is created and that law is inconsistent with a valid Commonwealth law, under s109 the State law is invalid to the extent of any inconsistency with the Commonwealth law.

    Q 4.
The Quarantine as mentioned in s 51 (ix) refers to our external borders.

    Q 5.
S 117 has been interpreted by the High Court to be subject to the public health exception.

    Q 6.
This is a question better directed to the Federal Government. The High Court may consider this in the upcoming Palmer case.

    Q 7.
Sedition involves acts designed to incite civil unrest or to rebel against the government or to bring down the government.

The reply I’m drafting at the moments looks like this

    G’day Senator XXXX

Please thank your staff for replying to my email of 24/07/2020 in which I asked seven questions about the Australian Constitution, the correct answers to which should be obvious to all Senators.

I am deeply saddened and disturbed that this appears not to be the case.

My first and second questions, at the very least, should have prompted a simple “yes” and “no” respectively – before the next five questions were attempted.

To refresh our memories, these are my first and second questions.

Q1. Is the Australian Constitution our nation’s overarching legal document; yes or no?

That is not a request for legal advice; it’s a reminder to someone that sits as a Senator that yes, the Australian Constitution is our nation’s overarching legal document.

Q2. Are there circumstances where the Australian Constitution can be ignored; yes or no?

Again, this is not a request for legal advice but a reminder that the Australian Constitution cannot be ignored.

How on this ever-greener Earth can a federal Senator not know those two answers reflexively and respond to them automatically?

    See why I’m deeply saddened?

Let’s put the other five questions on hold for a moment and, please, have the courage to be publicly remembered for your responses to questions one and two, Senator.

Bill Clinton visited Jeffery Epstein’s private island, unsealed court documents suggest

A trove of documents released late Thursday could shed light on Ghislaine Maxwell’s relationship with late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The data include records of a 2011 meeting between accuser Virginia Giuffre and her lawyers where she talked about the powerful people in Epstein’s orbit who she said either flew on his private Boeing 727 or stayed on his private island in the Caribbean.

Okay. My assessment of Eve Black, Sovereign Citizen script-reader and dumb as fuck camera whore may be, as they say, ‘subject to review’ (the Hun):

‘COVIDiot, ecowarrior, antivirus conspiracist. Eve Black attracts a lot of labels. The cackling covid-sceptic also includes topless waitress and dancer in her resume. We have unmasked several of Black’s other exotic tricks, but they are too rude, even for this column.

‘Black was dramatically arrested in Melbourne this week, with police smashing her car window when she refused to provide them with her details or step out of the car.

‘It was Black’s second clash with the PoPo. Last week she sparked national outrage after uploading a confrontation with officers at a lockdown checkpoint.

‘Eve, stage name Eden, has Melbourne in a spin. Burning rubber would be more like it. One happy punter was more than willing to give a review. “Of all the toppys we’ve had to the house in between lockdowns, Eden was the best.”’

‘For all the innocents out there, we’ve discovered a “toppy” is Melburnian slang for a topless waitress and quite the sought after entertainment following a boy’s night out at the pub*. Or a night in because of COVID.

But it was Black’s performance at the notorious Purr party last October that still has the guests swinging. Again, for the wide-eyed souls out there, Melbourne’s “Purr” parties have been in operation for around 16 years, catering to the city’s couple swapping swingers. Think kinky patrons decked out in fancy dress, electronic music and anything goes, like “anything.”

‘Last October was the aptly themed Good and Evil knees-up. Eden, aka Eve Black, was booked to play the role of the Angel for the headline performance. But dancers said organisers felt she was better suited to play the devil, which she did with gusto. They bumped and grinded to Nine Inch Nails, a song title again too rude to reveal.

‘Different strokes, for different folks. We are told even the Melbourne covid sceptics are finding her a little too much of late.

‘Black is well known as raging against the machine. Voicing her opinions on everything from Trump to vegan shaming on social media. No one seems surprised at Black showboating and uploading her video to gain attention.

‘But they say she was crying about it later, posting she had lost three kilos and was feeling a little overwhelmed by her unmasking. A mask is not the only accessory Black feels comfortable taking off.’

Yay, Eve! Dumb as a houseplant confirmed – a 9 on the hot/thick as shit matrix. No wonder she’s targeted by various young men eager to impress in exchange of a favour or seven.

    That’ll do, Eve/Eden. That’ll do.

    The Election of 1860

The Democrats met in Charleston, South Carolina, in April 1860 to select their candidate for President in the upcoming election. It was turmoil.

With four candidates in the field, Lincoln received only 40% of the popular vote and 180 electoral votes — enough to narrowly win the crowded election. This meant that 60% of the voters selected someone other than Lincoln. With the results tallied, the question was, would the South accept the outcome? A few weeks after the election, South Carolina seceded from the Union.

Depends on the offences, according to the matchbox back I just read. If her licence is suspended, or she doesn’t have one then the jacks let her continue to commit the offence if they let her drive off, and wear the risk if she spangs into something/one.

Plus, given her occupation she may well have had stuff in the car she shouldn’t have. The ‘traffic, covid breaches and other offences’ might be a hint.

The old ‘just go to her house later’ chestnut works in little towns where you actually know where people live. Unbelievably, and this may shock some, but tens of thousands of people in a place like Melbourne don’t actually live at the place written on their licence.

KFC will test chicken nuggets made with 3D bioprinting technology in Moscow, Russia, this fall, the chain announced in a July 16 press release.

The chicken chain has partnered with 3D Bioprinting Solutions to create a chicken nugget made in a lab with chicken and plant cells using bioprinting. Bioprinting, which uses 3D-printing techniques to combine biological material, is used in medicine to create tissue and even organs.

The 3D-printed chicken nuggets will closely mimic the taste and appearance of KFC’s original chicken nuggets, according to the press release. KFC expects the production of 3D-printed nuggets to be more environmentally friendly than the production process of its traditional chicken nuggets. The fall release will mark the first debut of a lab-grown chicken nugget at a global fast-food chain like KFC.

“Crafted meat products are the next step in the development of our ‘restaurant of the future’ concept. Our experiment in testing 3D bioprinting technology to create chicken products can also help address several looming global problems. We are glad to contribute to its development and are working to make it available to thousands of people in Russia and, if possible, around the world,” Raisa Polyakova, the CEO of KFC Russia and Commonwealth Independent States said in the press release.

Yusef Khesuani, cofounder and managing partner at 3D Bioprinting Solutions, said he hoped the KFC partnership would help accelerate the rise of cell-based meats and make them more widely accessible.

Is there anything possibly faker than this fakeness

In the show’s opener, reporter Chana Joffe-Walt shares a situation she has been dealing with herself with her own small children: religion. Chana is Joowish, but her 3-year-old son (who has picked up on some religious terminology) is making her uncomfortable, to say the least, with some of his comments of late. She shares one particular recording that she made of an adorably hilarious (and, yes, a tiny bit heartbreaking) conversation the two had during bath time.

First, she sets up the scene. Her son, Jacob, is playing “restaurant” and is giving out cups and little animals to customers — but only, he explains, to Christian customers.

    Jacob: Is your family Christian?

    Chana: No

Jacob: Is your mom or your dad Christian?

    Chana: No

Jacob: Is your brother or your sister Christian?

    Chana: No. They’re all Joowish.

[Jacob snatches the animal and says, “Sorry.”]

Chana: Wait, I can’t have an animal unless I’m Christian?

Jacob: You can’t have that duck, sorry.

Chana: Why can’t I have the duck?

    Jacob: Because you aren’t Christian.

Chana, to us, the listeners: “No Joowish allowed, says my three-and-a-half-year-old, to my Joowish face.”

Chana: That makes me feel sad, though, sweetie.

Jacob: In this restaurant, that’s what the rules are.

    Chana: That’s not kind, though.

Jacob: Yeah, but that’s what the rules are in this restaurant

Chana: Well, there are so many rules in this anti-S3mitic restaurant…”

The conversation is really very charming in its peculiarity. But Chana is clear about the fact that she’s not sure how to handle this situation, what she should do, what she should say — or whether she should say anything at all. He is, after all, only a toddler.

I think I know what I would do if I were Chana. Do you? What would it be?

Karen Straughan and Helen Smith laid this all out along with Paul Elam about 6 or 7 years ago.

  202. http://fathersaustralia.com/books/men-on-strike/

As Men on Strike demonstrates, men aren’t dropping out because they are stuck in arrested development. They are instead acting rationally in response to the lack of incentives society offers them to be responsible fathers, husbands and providers. In addition, men are going on strike, either consciously or unconsciously, because they do not want to be injured by the myriad of laws, attitudes and hostility against them for the crime of happening to be male in the twenty-first century. Men are starting to fight back against the backlash. Men on Strike explains their battle cry.

If that’s an ideology of hate then so is refusing to walk through a forest fire.

    Yup.

Fails every cost-benefit analysis you can apply to it.

    Some chat upthread about movies.
I just watched “Executive Decision”. Great action movie although it borrows much from previous movies involving passenger aircraft hijacked by terrorists. Still seat of your pants entertainment.
Stars Kurt Russel and Hale Berry, with an extended supporting role by Steven Seagal

Earlier in the week I watched “Double Jeopardy”. Also a good movie, with Tommy Lee Jones playing more or less the part he plays in all his movies, only he’s not a U.S. Marshal, and the escapee is a girl, not a guy.

    Both on Netflix and elsewhere.

  209. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

JC after Rome we’re still doing Netflix’s selected dramatised sequences with historical commentary – called Roman Empire, Empire of Blood. We are now up to Caligula, after the series on Comodus and then one on Julius Caesar (Caesar rather miscast in terms of appearance but Brutus is well played). The series skips Augustus and skims Tiberius to explain the stressors on Caligula which emerge during his reign as madness.

Watch and brush up on your history.

  210. How does one find a wife in Victoria right now?

Remember Dan banned rooting a non live in girlfriend a few months back.

Great society we’ve got here fellas. Old people can’t die and young people can’t meet their spouse.

I’m also puzzled how you can be an incel and a cuck…at the same time unless you’re a) married or b) are a degenerate with an OnlyFans membership.

  211. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

Norsemen now done and dusted for us, watched all 3 series. Episodes only half hour each, six to each series.

If you enjoy a wicked spoof then Norsemen is your show. Some may not get this sort of humor. Too bad. If you do engage with it (give it at least two episodes) then it is fun, till the joke wears a bit thin in the final series where they have to use flashbacks to keep it moving.

    Thanks, Steve.
You seem to be in a bit more of a melancholy mood tonight, but Two Steps From Hell is always good.

I am going to a girl’s lunch tomorrow wearing the dreaded black surgical boot. DVT in my leg means I can’t get any of my shoes, even my Canadian snow boots, to fit me on the bad leg. Blood thinners are slowly bringing it down though. I strongly suspect the party will be over the numbers allowed. How many is it now? I am too disabled to run effectively if the cops raid it.

Executive Decision is a great flick. Double Jeopardy too.

Frank are you a liberal party staffer?

Not that there’s anything wrong with that……….
    Whatever floats ya boat.

Compare his performance with that of George Galloway.

  232. Ed Case:

“As Australian journalists, we are the eyes and ears of our people. ***

I love the way they have decided they represent me. It’s polite to ask somebody first before you start speaking for them, as well as expressing ownership of them.
Australian Journalists don’t speak for me in much the same way my cat doesn’t speak for me. Firstly because it’s not his place, and secondly because I wouldn’t tolerate such presumption.

  233. MiltonF:

These people are vicious and evil. Are they Portland locals or blows in? Either way, what a fucked place Portland is. Would love to know where the money is coming from?

I’m kind of surprised there hasn’t been the occasional “shooting from the shadows” provocation from the extremists on either side.
    It’s in the playbook.
Perhaps it isn’t time yet, but I’m sure the Democrats are just busting for a Kent State massacre.

  234. Notafan:

Nor can Australian taxpayers afford to provide every single major service to every community no matter how small and remote.
Because that is what is being demanded.

No. That’s NOT what is being demanded. We’d like to see the same per head of the revenue being spent in rural and remote Australia, and we’ve had enough of the cities getting the cream.
