Liberty Quote
It is surprisingly easy to win the support of young voters for policies that would ultimately make matters even worse for them, like maintaining defined benefit pensions for public employees. If young Americans knew what was good for them, they would all be in the Tea Party.

It’s not about white supremacy. It’s about Christ’s supremacy.
Take it up with Him, AOC.
Oh, and BTW, He wasn’t white. So how does all those whiteys worshiping Him sit with your whitey supremacist allegation?
St Damien, ora pro nobis, nec non AOC.
If President Trump loses, she’s in charge.
If President Trump loses, she’s in charge.
Followed soon after by the collapse of western civilisation.
Is this loathsome slag for real or has she been ‘manufactured’ by Manhattan marxists?
It’s a wonder AOC hasn’t flipped out about that disgusting Union Jack inset on Hawaii’s state flag seemingly honouring the time when the populace was under the yoke of British imperialism
Why is it that these mulattoes take on the persona of the most “aggrieved” side of their heritage.just like the life of Brian, “what have the romans done for us”
We do need a statue of Joan Kirner, open chequebook in one hand an d a speed camera in the other, because….achievements of strong women of strongnessy strength ….or something.
Mulattoes…luv it!!
Ocasio-Cortez graduated from Boston University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in international relations with a minor in economics.
So she’s uneducated, NFA.
“…with a Bachelor of Arts…”
Patriarchy!
She should immediately insist she is a Spinster of Arts!
No, wait – that they change the name to Spinster for everyone, for always and retrospectively too.
And change cum laude to cum lady!
Controversy Hunters.
That’s all they are and they don’t give a shit about the damage they cause.
Selfish bitch.
Miltonf, “Is this loathsome slag for real or has she been ‘manufactured’ by Manhattan marxists?”
A bit of both, in fact.
More worrying, the left-wing National Catholic Reporter recently declared abortion supporter Ocasio-Cortez to be “the future of the Catholic Church”:
In an op-ed Monday, NCR’s executive editor Heidi Schlumpf praised Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as a “rock-star millennial leader of the left” who “grew up Catholic and even wrote about how her faith influences her views on public policies such as mass incarceration, for a Catholic magazine.”
As I listened to her “stunning speech” on the House floor last week, “I was struck by how often it referenced Catholic values,” Ms. Schlumpf wrote.
Thanks Hugh
Great love for St Damien since I was a little girl.
A truly inspirational man for all people.
The movie made of his life was pretty good. I had it on vhs. Must look out for a DVD.
“Schlumpf”? Well that’s a German name, for starters.
Possibly with Yiddish roots, it means “midget”, or colloquially, “SMURF”. “Referenced Catholic values”? In what way? Positive or negative referencing?
Is Occasional Cortex the “dark”, so to speak, horse loitering and being groomed around the starters gate.
“Clever” people lambasted the old pop group, “The Monkees” for being “manufactured”. At least they had some talent and were, as intended, entertaining.
Pre-Covid, the Victorian government held a competition to name the two humongous drilling machines carving out the new Metro tunnels. Maybe I’m cynical, but you get the feeling that one of the results was printed up even before the competition began. One of these huge machines, designed, built and operated almost entirely by men, is named after…Joan Kirner. The other…you’ll never guess…no, really… is named after…Meg Lanning. And in answer to that blank look on your face, she is the Captain of the Australian women’s cricket team.
People like her dominate politics, the media, academia, business…. basically every sphere of society. The West has collapsed we just don’t know it yet.
Who the hell is st .damien?never eard of im !
Then your education is sadly lacking.
I am not a catholic, I was never taught about people like that ,we had a practical education free from religous intfluence.
St Damien is highly regarded by all Hawaiian people, that is why his statue is where it is.
Your bigotry is getting a tad tedious.
There was a secular movie of his life made here in Australia with Kate Cebrano and Faromir
Seriously? Two colossal bores?
I’ll bet that one did the rounds at the time.
They need a statue of AOC crying at the car park wire fence.

Difficult to say Hugh, the J ews are typically, though not exclusively, of Mediterranean complexion, though there are natural blondes and red-heads amongst them. Jesus (Yahoshua ben Yoseph ben David ben Elohim) was a great grandson of King David through both his foster-father’s and his mother’s lines, and David was either a fair skinned blonde or a ruddy complexioned red-head, so it’s possible that Yahoshua inherited those genes.
What a divisive piece of crap she is.
The real story here is AOC inciting the indigenous Hawaiians.
They already celebrate Kill Haole Day, even though Japanese brought to the islands as labourers
in the 19th C. have owned most of the place and most of the power since the 1960s.
Father Damien of Molokai was still a generally known story in the Australia of 1960s,
i’m surprised you’ve never heard of him.
This provides quite an insight into the tangled thicket of progressive pieties that choke AOC mind.
St Damian is a figure of whom Hawaiians are proud, in whom they share a connection, and by whom they are inspired. They are feelings that well up of their own accord, not as a conclusion at the end of a deliberate intellectual calculus.
For AOC these feelings are problematic distraction and believes that she can determine who ought to be admired according to tortured progressive logic and then expect those feelings to be simply transferred.
It is like telling someone to read the instructions for a toaster and find it funny. I don’t mean to make ‘ha-ha’, I mean genuinely funny.
What an empty person she must be not to see how absurd it is.
I bet Im not the only person who has never heard of him , I am not bigotted at all , In my long life I have had many RC friends ,still have ,those who still live . On old mate who passed last year aged 82 he was the hardest working priest in the country area I lived in , un he used to take four masses in four seperate townships each Sunday untill he was physically unable aged 79,he and I used to grow all varieties of tomatoes and swap, them with each other ,many a cup of coffee I had in the house he lived in with two teaching brothers and a retired priest , joe ,my mate used to teach at a college too ,a great man . Any criticisms I make are not based on bigotry but obsevstion ,no one and no group is perfect, not even me ,though
I come perilously close to perfection .
Perhaps this shows her ambition for herself overrides empathy and understanding of others’ culture and meaningfulness.
I think for her, if a person is not Left, they are nothing. Maybe some kind of autism or mental disorder that cannot see past it’s own self.
Fred,
Surely the point is that Hawaiians know who he was and hold him in such esteem that he was the one whose statue they wanted to represent the state.
Plus the fact that AOC would disregard the islands’ affection in the name of what in normal times would be an excuse for table-thumping outrage among undergrads in a uni bar where the white male, feigning fury, was trying to get into the pants of the middle class white girl trying to get her parents to take her seriously.
MOLOKAI: THE STORY OF FATHER DAMIEN
No good deeds goes unpunished by future generations, in this case by the race-baiting filth that is AOC.
I’m surprised one wasn’t names after Christine Nixon. She could munch through anything.
Cretin is as cretin does.
Why has this disgusting subhuman not been deported to the cesspit she seeped out of.
Whoops, wrong pronoun.
It, not she.
This woman has a staff but seems unable to do the most basic research on her targets, and this is one of many misfires by this extraordinarily silly congresswoman who makes Jacquie Lambie look like a Rhodes Scholar. I remember when she claimed the illegal immigrants at the border were being forced to drink out of toilets…anyone with half a brain would know that was not true….of course “toilet” turned out to be an all in one stainless steel cistern with basin and hot and cold water integral and above the toilet. Remember this woman is slated to be the one who will usher in the “green new deal” that will not be implemented but the damage in trying will be immense.
I suppose one AOC is the only one not allowed to make a mistake? Have you not heard of Jesus’ quote, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Put down your stones, you hypocrites.
There was a secular movie of his life made here in Australia with Kate Cebrano and Faromir
This must have been from the time Kate was under the impression she was Hawaiian – she mentioned it in every interview until dad finally let her know that, no, their background wasn’t Hawaiian, but Philippino.
As far as AOC goes, what gives her the right to speak on behalf of the Hawaiian people and their heroes. Did any Hawaiians put their hands up to go to the island to look after the lepers? Hawaiian women?
This woman is truly repulsive
