Oh, this is just bullshit and bullying.

Our history, short as it is, should not be subjected to crappo censorship by propaganda cocksmokers

  2. Genghis

Maybe not true but DANGEROUS! What a lode of crap.

  3. cuckoo

If this were for real, New York would be announcing it will no longer be known as the Big Apple.

  4. Damon

For heavens sake! I heard this 75 years ago! Mothers used to recite it to persuade recalcitrant children to eat apples. Only idiots would treat this as serious.

I think Bee people must read Tony Heller, since he has this one today:

The Push To Discredit HCQ (1 Aug)

Whatever you may think about the efficacy of that medicine the hysteria from the Left about it has been quite extraordinary. I can easily see them banning apples if Trump says apples are good for you.

  6. notafan

It should be ‘a hoe a day keeps the road away’

It is satire people! This is what the Babylon Bee does.

I think this is Trump having a bit of fun with the left Twitter weirdos.

Apples are very good for you though. Things your grannie used to say can be often true and quite interesting in a cultural way. “the grass is always greener”, “a fool and his money” etc.
All true. Just a few words can be so descriptive.

  9. Granny Smith didn’t invent her namesake, Bruce Pascoe said they were grown around Eastwood for millenia.

And the doctor being kept away is probably a person/womynx of color! Apples have long been recognised as deeply troubling symbols of white supremacy and patriarchy. Adam and Eve, the apple used to submit Snow WHITE, Johnny Appleseed spreading his rapist white colonial apple seed over the native american continent. Can I have my ARC grant now?

New York would be announcing it will no longer be known as the Big Apple

I thought it had already changed it’s moniker to ‘the rotten apple’…

Meanwhile Bill Clinton pops his cherry, but ‘did not have … relations with that girl’.

Funnily enough recent research has shown there is some truth to this, apples are even better for your health than previously thought. Always eat at least one per day, won’t cure disease like the China Virus but quite beneficial to overall health.

  14. Damon

“Funnily enough recent research has shown there is some truth to this”
    So Mummy was right.

Indeed. I love their memes. Problem in 2020 is it’s becoming very difficult to pick a piss-take from fact.

    whoooosh.

  18. They should create a Trump tweet about ‘feed a cold, starve a fever’. That could have so many SJW interpretations.

  19. Entropy

Apples are half fructose you know. Sugar bad!

I like this one. So close to reality:
“Down with nazis cries protester burning bibles.

And I think the Bee is moving more towards the centre. Early on in his term, they were more likely to diss him from a “leftish” perspective than they seem to be now.

there is fact no difference whatsoever

My husband and I had a really big laugh at this. An old well-known saying condemned because Donald Trump quoted it! Ha ha ha!

  24. Rex Anger

An Apple a day does indeed keep the Doctor away.

But only if your aim is good…

  25. IainC

I used to read Babylon Bee as a satirical site. Now, it seems, it just reprints NYT headlines.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
A rose a day keeps the divorce lawyer away.
A garlic a day keeps everyone away.
