It’s time for the Victorian Governor to dismiss Daniel Andrews

Header from the ABC’s Breaking News bar. To protect Labor, it nationalises the tragedy. All 17 were Victorians.

    COVID mortality rates

    VIC: 31.8 per million

Australia, excluding VIC: 4.5 per million

    Great job, Dictator Dan!

  2. stackja

An ALP appointee dismissing a ALP government? Gough said, outrageous!

  3. Chris M

They are intentionally withholding the medical drugs that would cure most of these people.

Never forget, this is all political now and clearly they need these daily deaths for the cause.

uk ranks fourth in number of deaths. case fatality ratio is over 15% in england. uk cases are rising in number again. data on johns hopkins web site.

NHS is shit! Had an argument with a “friend” who maintained that UK NHS was FAR superior to Australia’s piss-poor effort.

There’s no possible way the CFR in the UK is anywhere near 15%. Anyone pushing this line also has a bridge for sale.

What’s amazing is some people would actually believe this rubbish!
    Fear mongering at its worst!

Even the people in the slums of Mumbai are doing it better than Disaster Dan:
    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-53133843
“650,000 people spread over 2.5 grubby sq km
Since the first case was reported on 1 April, more than 2,000 infections and 80-odd deaths have been reported here.
They have traced, tracked, tested and isolated aggressively to halt the spread of infection.”

Hydroxychloroquine ban continues as Victorians die.

The ABC and others have been doing all they can to hide the fact that the daily death toll in Victoriastan now often equals or exceeds the total of reported infections in the rest of the nation.

Bruce, you’re 100% correct. NHS is shit.

  12. duncanm

Sweden pretty much peaked a couple of weeks back, too.

Andrews should be sacked but not just because of the WhuFlu.

Corruption in the Police force, corruption in the vic doj, union-labor corruption.

    Take your pick.

  14. rafiki

Is it possible that, owing to the more comprehensive spread of the virus, at some point Victorians will be better placed to get about economic activity than other parts of Australia? That is, inadvertently of course, Victoria has followed the Swedish path? t
The theory here is that it is fatuous to think that the spread of the virus can be stopped, and that it is better to let it rip so as to get back to something like normal more quickly.

Whatever, we should be grateful that the incompetence of the Victorians sets up an interesting experiment.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the elderly deceased had a “Do Not Resuscitate” order in place.

  16. notafan

I’ve heard frail elderly were only receiving palliative care so bound to die.

Can you imagine the media coverage if Daniel Andrews were Tony Abbott?

    More on hydroxychloroquine:

Class action lawyers might join the politicians and medical analysts personally to sue for withholding efficacious treatment.

  19. nb

Actually, this might well also be a criminal matter. Manslaughter? A crime is far more egregious if it is ongoing.

Can you imagine any CEO that knowingly takes actions that wipes out billions of dollars of wealth to merely be dismissed for such actions?
