Cautious Strangulation

I am supportive of Victoria Police being very cautious when they deal with people who are not wearing masks or who are openly breaking the rules.”

– Daniel Andrews claims he hasn’t seen the videos but even if an officer of Labor’s security wing (VicPol) did assault and strangle a woman, he doesn’t care

I’m sure Australia’s most honest police will carry out this “review” with the rigorous impartiality and Serpico-like commitment to the truth we’ve all come to know. Look, I applaud the lady for resisting the assault and the interrogation. I especially liked that kick – no mean feat in the circumstances and the lady “police officer” on the receiving end was wearing a vest. She’ll live. As Barry Goldwater once said, amateur karate in the cause of liberty is no vice.

Premier Andrews mandated mask-wearing to sustain the fiction that coronavirus “cases” (99 percent of which are totally irrelevant) arise because of the disobedience of citizens rather than his own lying, incompetence and sociopathy. It’s no happenstance that all this accords seamlessly with Beijing’s playbook for manipulating the truth and making everyman the enemy.

‘It’s no happenstance that all this accords seamlessly with Beijing’s playbook for manipulating the truth and making everyman the enemy.’
Indeed. And it is no happenstance that just about all the current madness happens to dovetail neatly with the CCP playbook.
    Anyhow, Joe Blow 2020? No!

Slightly OT: an American website has noticed the judge’s decision in a recent case in the People’s Democratic Republic of Victoriastan, I couldn’t believe that a court could make such a decision, but I guess anything goes in that socialist paradise.

The cop should be charged with assault.

  4. Jannie

Its not the cops fault. The cop used reasonable force to achieve his objective, ie to force the woman to put on a mask or be arrested. The politicians and bureaucrats who made up these scare campaigns and fascistic rules who should be held to account, starting with Daniel Andrews.

The cop used reasonable force to achieve his objective

Grabbing people by a throat-hold is not reasonable force (by my definition) and something that would make me want to react and react violently.

From the News.com.au article: She was charged with resisting police and assaulting police and was bailed to appear at court at a later date. “She did not receive a fine for failing to wear a face covering because she later told police she had an exemption,” the spokeswoman said.

Rita Panahi said it: Wouldn’t it be better to give her a mask?

  7. Dave of Reedy Creek, Qld

You have my total attention with the “99% irrelevant cases”. Confirms my deepest suspicions on power mad, knee jerk state premiers. Here in Queensland with a population of 5.1 million we have 4 or 5 people in hospital with the virus but our borders are locked down yet again. Screams of political control and big brother (sister) heavy handedness. Many of us think the virus is a smokescreen to hide huge debts run up by the current people and a handy diversion to hide gross incompetence.

  8. rickw

The bottom line is we have a bunch of police who have no common sense. Vicpol recruitment has targeted small men with big chips on their shoulder, useless women and other assorted proto Nazi’s.

Vicpol, take off your fucking hat’s and look at what the badge says. Uphold The Right. No, not even Uphold The Law, let alone Uphold A Dickheads Guidelines.

The Badge’s wording acknowledges that The Law is an approximation for what is right, and, that The Law may even be unlawful in an absolute moral sense. Ask the arseholes at Nuremberg abut that one.

Throat grabbing a smallish woman over some fucking paper mask shows that vicpol as an organisation doesn’t understand anything about their role in society. If anyone doubts that, look at the behaviour of the back up that arrived to find a situation that any old school copper would have laughed at.

Why did you call for backup? Why did you need to put a smallish women face first on the pavement? What on earth is your partner doing? Instead of laughing their guts out. The vicpol crew double down on their stupid and expand the nazi operation of this idiot and his dangerous arrest method. Also note the large number responding, they know they don’t have community support, hence the need to turn up in numbers to even the smallest issue.

Are people still comfortable with these ignorant and dangerous fucks wandering the streets with Glocks? If anyone moans about vicpol’s good officers, news flash, they started leaving as soon the organisation started twisting into what it now is, if they’re still in this organisation, there’s a very slim chance that they are good.

I’m gonna tell yous all again.
the whole thing was a crock of lies

The push kick hardly connected and of course there’s armour

The only concession I will make is regarding the thumb to the throat.
If this wasn’t a training exercise, I will bare my arse in Bourke St.

The reason higher ranked martial artists sometime seem almost god-like in predicting what an opponent will do next isn’t because they know, it is because they practically dictate it.

That’s right, you thought it was you that decided you’d try that next … hmmm… er, not quite … lol.

If I wanted to create an opportunity for Polis #2 to enter, then I may decide that some slight hinting was necessary. Like the thumb in the throat occupied the midget-ninja’s right hand … and she grabbed that thumb right on cue (again, nice camera angle)

And if polis #1 was ‘expert’, why was the kicking leg available at all?
looks a lot to me like he made damn sure it was
    just saying

and at what point did they collectively decide that the ‘boyfriend’ with a camera was less of threat than a midget ninja?

If I was polis#2 I’d certainly be a little more concerned. But nah, that both turn their backs so that cameraman can get a much better angle.

…and all this rubbish followed with the complete lie that polis#2 was in hospital

    frog sheeet. utter and complete

This is why policemen don’t like being partnered with a policewoman. When A bit of biff is required the ladies prefer to stand by and offer advice.

Have to agree entirely RickW, looking at it, the sheila is a smart arse with her fuckwit useless boyfriend to start with looking to bait the coppers what ever, but the how did the ‘coppers’ let it get to that stage? The policewoman OMG another brilliant recruiting coupe by VicPol. Don’t they know how to take hold of a hand anymore and deliver a delicate little twist, that will effectively render the person into submission? All I can say is that Vic Pol has some massive recruit training failures, and yes they send them out armed and dangerous and totally incapable of handling even a very minor situation. Old Mick Miller would be spinning his grave!

Can we see the whole video? What led to this choke hold? This is not SOP, something went down beforehand I’m guessing.

  20. theleftfootkick

May be so, but the video and it happens every time now, people are out recording everything, once again shows a lack of professional control by police officers, the one I feel for is the male copper. I’d bet his morale right now is about about low as it gets.

  21. H B Bear

I have always regarded choking an essential part of the democratic process and the relationship between the citizen and the State. It has taken an enlightened leader like Chairman Dan to acknowledge this.

    “she later told police”.

ie: they didn’t ask in the first place.

I suspect it escalated into what we saw on video because pol#1 thought he could just man-handle ninja-midget with no repercussions, and she immediately told him where to go.

  38. Makka

Its not the cops fault. The cop used reasonable force to achieve his objective, ie to force the woman to put on a mask or be arrested.

There’s a few thing wrong here Jannie, besides your Nazi bent. Since when is it an offence warranting arrest to go without a mask? The cop had no right to lay a hand on her unless she attacked him first. I’ve seen no evidence of that as yet. He should have issued the fine and moved on. The woman and her male companion BOTH loudly claimed she had a medical exemption, while she was being assaulted by the cops, but were ignored.

The real problem is people like you promoting VicPol thuggery of innocents as good stuff.

  39. Spurgeon Monkfish III

He should have issued the fine and moved on

For what? She had an exemption. No fine necessary.

  40. rickw

Can we see the whole video? What led to this choke hold? This is not SOP, something went down beforehand I’m guessing.

Whatever happened beforehand, you don’t need the chokehold. Potential to cause damage, plus leaves both hands and both feet free for use should she decide to suck up the pain and go on the offensive. eg. kick choker in the nuts.

  41. twostix

There’s a lot of weird old boomer males who have a bizarre fetish for police authority and vulgar displays of power.

    They love it.

Anytime some cop acts like a pig they’re straight in rubbing themselves against his leg.

Here in reality Gen-X and lower know perfectly well that police aren’t our guys – that the winds have shifted and police forces are become cats paws of the establishment state and political left. Seeing the same police that refuse to arrest african warlords while acting like this against 5″ tall white girls for not wearing a mask worries the shit out of us for where we’ll be in 20 years.

  42. Jac

At the end of the video the “lady” asks the boyfriend if he got the bit where the cop had his hands on her neck. I suspect these two have ideas about accruing some funds as a result of their efforts.
She refused to give her name to the police when asked, didn’t explain she had an exemption, grabbed him by his vest and screamed into his face – which seems to me is why he tried to turn her head away as best he could as she fought, hit out and tried to kick.

  43. Frank

Rafiki, your email is showing up, you might want to change that?

  44. Makka

For what? She had an exemption. No fine necessary.

In any general setting, what I meant was there is no authority to lay a hand on her just for the mask (unless she attacked him first). Even if she couldn’t produce the exemption on the spot which I think was the case. The cops actions are limited to issuing the fine and moving on. Those are the state’s rules.

This was VicPol thuggery, plain and simple.

  45. billie

She had exemption from wearing a mask and she and her foul mothed companion told the police this but they did not let her show them. Pair of ratbags maybe but the male police officer assaulted her and carried on far too long escalating the situation. Calling for backup with sirens going off and armed police rushing to the scene is so over the top it would not make it into a comedy cop show.

Unbelievable! How can anyone support this performance from the young girl and her anti society foul mouth partner. The necessary “choke hold” is just step number (say 38) on the list of restraint methods in the approved police manual. Blather on as much as you like about Liberty but there must surly be a point where this girl chose for her liberty to be extinguished. She also chose at many points.
The first time would have been, I assume, when she was asked why she was not wearing a mask. Most polite citizens would simply state the reason and for this case produce the certificate. No, she must have chosen another approach. If she was polite (regardless of how the police first approached), produced the evidence then I am sure the police would have thanked her and wished her well without batting an eyelid. As for the obnoxious, harrassing, abusive, goading, anti social, cretin of limited vocabulary or intelligence who was supporting her then removal of some of his liberties would be a good outcome and example to others willing to travel that road.

Yep, I agree with you Petey that convincing you of your inanity and insanity is a waste of time and effort, IamStillProjectingHarderThanAllTheFrenchTrenchMortarsIn1917Combined. Much better to just shoot down your trolling, then wind you up and laugh as you punch yourself in your rage.

I’m going back to ignoring your crazy raving ass.

You have failed that noble ideal miserably. Again. Poor, poor little IamTryingToWinThisHere,SoWhyIsEveryoneLaughingSoHardAtMe?

I hereby claim this Troll-flounce, and am well on my way to being an ace.

    Ace Anger. Hmmm…🤔

I am more than a little shocked by the attitude of some people responding to this post by supporting this young lout. Their attitude appears to be – if you disagree with Red Dan’s laws its fine to yell abuse, kick and scream at cops and expect there will be no consequences. (As it happens, I do agree with others in their condemnation of Red Dan. In fact I disagree with Red Dan on almost everything. And I think he is a socialist ass hat – but I repeat myself – who will continue to make appalling decisions that will have grievous outcomes that will tear Victoria to pieces till he is removed by the people.) But I am betting London to a brick that the same people who support this young woman would argue that if she were a BLM supporter behaving in this way she should be beaten about the head with truncheons. (I am probably not too far off agreeing with that either).
But my problem is this. Behaving like a total dick when a cop is only doing his or her job is NOT OK. Whether I agree with your cause or not.
Jeez guys you are supposed to be conservatives. What is it about being a conservative that you do not understand? You may be coming at this from a conservative viewpoint (freedom, liberty and all that) but you are approaching it in a way that makes you sound distinctly like rabid leftists.

when a cop is only doing his or her job

    retard

No evidence the young lout was harming anyone or anything before the cops attacker her. Hopefully she gets a lot of compensation, just to rub salt in the wound. Cops shouldn’t be assaulting people for non-crimes, especially cops that ignore actual crimes and do nothing to stop gangs and violent mass protests.

The cop could have ignored the failure to mask or simply suggested next time.

    Should never escalate to this.

Oh I am chastened! Such insightful argument and crystal clear logic leaves me totally unable to respond. You win – your engaging and powerful rhetoric has caused me to change my mind totally and come around to your point of view.
Err actually not. As I said in my post “you are approaching it in a way that makes you sound distinctly like rabid leftists.” Inchoate rage with ad hominem attacks and the throwing of insults is JUST what they do. At least you did not call me a racist – I suppose I should thank God for small mercies.

    Eggzakkerly.
Now I haven’t seen the full video, and there may be some extenuating circumstances, But.
There were multiple ways to deal with the situation.
    The copper chose violence.

    Yes. Bang on.

    Like Winston said, exactly.

“The people are the police and the police are the people”

    Apparently.
