And finally the Marxists came for the (left) liberals

Interesting heads up from Jo Nova.  The Marxists won out from the march through the institutions and now the leftists themselves are in the crosshairs.

Anti-Marxist liberals are about to find themselves in much the same situation that has characterized conservatives, nationalists, and Christians for some time now: They are about to find themselves in the opposition.

This means that some brave liberals will soon be waging war on the very institutions they so recently controlled. They will try to build up alternative educational and media platforms in the shadow of the prestigious, wealthy, powerful institutions they have lost. Meanwhile, others will continue to work in the mainstream media, universities, tech companies, philanthropies, and government bureaucracy, learning to keep their liberalism to themselves and to let their colleagues believe that they too are Marxists—just as many conservatives learned long ago how to keep their conservatism to themselves and let their colleagues believe they are liberals.

This is the new reality that is emerging. There is blood in the water and the new Marxists will not rest content with their recent victories. In America, they will press their advantage and try to seize the Democratic Party. They will seek to reduce the Republican Party to a weak imitation of their own new ideology, or to ban it outright as a racist organization.

I just read that on Quilette.

It’s heavy on political theory although still a fairly astute analysis of what’s going on.

Not exactly going to cheer you up though.

The funny thing is that this is what Marx predicted the capitalists would be doing – loyal to no one and compelled by their nature to irresistibly try to concentrate more and more (capital in the case of capitalists, but power in the case of Marxists) to themselves, discarding the carcasses of their former peers, and forming a smaller and smaller class.

Green progressives seem mysteriously absent in China, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela.
I wonder where they all went to?

As my Mother used to say, Tears Before Bedtime!

Indeed, the internet has a video for everything.

It is a crying shame that after some 20 years, nobobdy has made a heavy metal parody featuring crocodiles, wolves, vultures and other nasty carnivoresand carrion eaters doing their chompy nasty eating thing, with a distorted, attacking guitar melody and a Heavy Metal Growler providing the vocals…

    It would, perhaps

What a hoot. 80% of the population pretending to be something they are not because they are threatened With cancellation by a radical 20%. Ogga Bogga!

As Marxist’s take over the left, the leftists become the new conservatives ?

  8. a happy little debunker

Couldn’t help but notice the Elizabeth Warren (at the Democrat convention) put the blue into BLM.

Waiting now for the Marxists to give her a ‘South African’ style necklace… Sounding more and more like a Goodyear…

Ssshhhh! Don’t let IamAMarxistShill overhear you.

Petey’s trolling is already of insufferably poor quality as it is, without having something justifiable to cling to…

  10. Pyrmonter

A familiar argument, especially common among ‘conservatives’ wishing to pose false dichotomies, for whom the opposite to left authoritarianism is right authoritarianism, not freedom.

Maybe you should have said woke Goodyear which has joined Gillette, Qantas, BP, BHP, General Motors and some others down the woke road to failure.

Why is that written in the future tense?

The Phoenix must first burn Into oblivion before it can arise victorious from the ashes. Thus it must be with western civilisations. Parable according to Bunty!

Anti-Marxist liberals are about to find themselves in much the same situation that has characterized conservatives, nationalists, and Christians for some time now: They are about to find themselves in the opposition.

    What is this even describing?
By anti-Marxist liberal does the author mean “progressives?”
In which case who cares if they end up in the same place as conservatives, nationalists, Christians and any other collectivists? They’re certainly not in “opposition” to anything. These are all just variants of the same collectivist ideas that are dominant in the mainstream. All of which agree on the fundamentals with Marxism anyway, so their opposition is nothing more than a symptom of their confusion about their own ideas, not some defiant political stance critical to their ideology, or something.

I can’t believe I’m having to come in to bat for progressive shitters, but here we are Iamacommie.

Who agrees? Nationalists, conservatives, most forms of christianity and a great deal of progressives at least agree with private property ownership. Tarring them all with the same house-brush is a clumsy argument.

For an alleged staunch individualist, Petey, you sure love leaping to the collective smear and ad hom as a first resort.

None of the groups you have lumped together with progressives in order to despise and mock the lot together have anything in common with them.

You, in fact, share the same common features as both Marxists and Progressives- The worship of Self, in the form of ‘Reason’ and the selfish desire to exert total and umaccountable control over everything and everyone.

Any ideological confusion you perceive between any of the groups you have mocked here is down purely to your own wilful ignorance and arrogance, IamConceited.

I specifically said they “agree on the fundamentals.” Do you know what the fundamentals are?
Without that you won’t be able to understand why all these movements are actually on the same side.

Also, the level of “agreement” with private property ownership from these movements is worse than if they just disagreed with it.
A half-arsed attempt to defend property rights, ending with nonsensical and contradictory positions, as it necessarily must coming from nationalists, Christians, or progressives, does more damage to the cause of property rights than a Marxist argument ever could.

And what ‘fundamentals’ are those, IamASuperiorTheoristANDTheologian?

Or is this yet another Petey Bluster and Petey Bluff (which you hope nobody will challenge IamAmostCravenAndCowardlyIndividual), in a typically Petey-Poor defence of Petey Smears and Petey Projections?

I sincerely would like to know what your considered ‘fundamentals’ are, Trolly-kins. It is a big call to lump together the faith that has made and still makes the West what it is, with attitudes and ideals shared by every race and culture in the world, and universally considered ‘right-wing’ (including yor beloved ‘West’), with the key exception of yourself…

C’mon Petey, be brave. I’m only an inferior, ‘babbling’ ‘leftist’ ‘nutjob’ after all. What could you possibly lose by putting me in my place?

    Poor old Iamashiteater.
Too conceited, stupid and ignorant to understand quite how badly he’s beclowned himself, he nevertheless has that uneasy feeling that things aren’t going quite as smoothly as he’d envisaged – after experiencing that familiar squishy moist sticky feeling at the base of his Huggies he’s scurried off, ready to do his goldfish-like memory expunging so as to return and reiterate the same repeatedly disproved falsehoods yet again.

  20. Rex Anger

    Am sad.

Much as I know his ‘fundamentals’ are about as tangible as dust in a stiff breeze,I do want to find out what they are.

I guess it’s kinda like being in the BAOR in the late 80s. I’m very well Ivan’s tanks are just over there from me. I’ve seen them and drilled ceaselessly against them. And I know just how badly the shit’s hit the fan if I have to deploy against a Soviet push. But damned if I didn’t wish at least once that one would come within main gun range…
