    Infidel:

Yes how we long for the character of Bush, Obama, Clinton, Kennedy, Wilson and FDR.

Wars, sex scandals, corruption, racism… but all with a lovely tone

Yep. If we have to tolerate those things, let’s at least be civil about it.

  2. Bear Necessities

If Trump wins or not in November he has changed Republican politics forever. No one can turn up to Republican primary and be a Romney or McCain or Graham RINO. They have to have some fight in them.

Saying that he is not a debater and being the most stubborn person on the planet he will not change they way he goes about it.

The republicans should say no thanks to any debates at the start of the next Presidential cycle. They always get a Crowley or Wallace each cycle who want to “moderate”. It wouldn’t matter what candidate they nominate they will always find a way to insert themselves into the debate. Just tell them as a party any candidate we nominate will not debate. Like the White Correspondents dinner no one will miss it.

I didn’t watch, but listened very carefully. It was far less distracting and an aid to concentration.

Biden slurred and mumbled and fumbled anything to do with figures. He was sometimes incoherent. Trump was loud and incisive, probably interrupted too much and should have allowed Biden to talk himself into a circle. A boss, and sounded like one – you can’t get away from personality.

What astonished me was the other voice constantly steering away from rocky shoals that Biden would have been wrecked on – it became a debate (more an interrogation) between Trump and the Moderator. Bizarre.

If it was meant to showcase the alternative candidate’s mental prowess and fitness for the task, it failed dismally. Perhaps Wallace should run instead.

  4. Biden has awfully young-looking hands for a 77-year-old.

All the things you mentioned weren’t discussed in the debate. That was my point.

Go back and listen to the debate again and this time note what Biden was stating. You can also look at Biden’s platform. It’s all available. Any fkwit can sit on the fence. You are just chickening out on making a fact based decision.

Green energy replacing cheaper fossil fuels, higher taxes, defunding Police, open borders, 2A gone etc.

  6. At least Cardi looks like your regulation troppo nutter.
As well as my man, John McAffe!
Hehe, love it. Imma come help you campaign dude. If I can cross the borders and have a spot to sleep in DPLRBL.

    Good one, Cruel.

Specifically, your family’s welfare is not the business of any president, you dickhead. No president is going to come on stage and say,

if you vote for me, I’m going to protect the Cruel family from financial and personal harm.

Hiden’s policies are repugnant to any form of economic welfare, but really, you support Hiden. Just come out of the closet.

    Biden’s BIGGEST WHOPPER:

“ANTlFA IS AN IDEA, NOT AN ORGANIZATION”

This will be what haunts him the next 36 days.

ANTlFA is CLEARLY an organization. a VIOLENT organization.

    Note to @joeBiden
: IDEAS don’t burn down buildings and police cars and attack innocent people.

    VIOLENT GROUPS do.

ANTlFA is a violent group doing ALL of that, and more.

Even if Durham is a Deep Stater and does not come to the party … what we already know with certainty about the FBI and Obama & Hilarity shenanigans in the manufactured Russia Gate disruption/coup the restraint / patience shown already makes Trump look like a saint. AND IT HAS GOT HIM NOWHERE! Shows he should have fought at the outset!

  10. Cassie of Sydney

If Trump wins or not in November he has changed Republican politics forever.

If Trump loses in November, he will be the last Republican president. There won’t be another Republican because if the Demrats win in November….Harris will quickly assume the presidency and it will be adios to the first and second amendment, the electoral college will be dismantled and the supreme court will be enlarged.

Trump’s Funniest Moments During the Grudge Match Debate

George Stephanopoulos called the first debate between Joe Biden and President Trump “the worst presidential debate I’ve ever seen,” but I rather liked it. Frankly, the only thing that made it bad, in my opinion, was Chris Wallace trying to moderate. Why do we need moderators for debates? I think it would be better to just let the candidates ask each other the questions they want answered and let them go. Fight it out!

Every time the debate seemed to be getting into something good, Wallace would jump in to demand that all the fun stop immediately—and then force us to eat our vegetables.

But we don’t want peas, Chris. We want a grudge match. We want UFC-style slugging it out that leaves bruises we’ll all be talking about for weeks to come. Those of you wringing your hands about how “mean” and “unprofessional” it was are liars. You loved it, but you don’t want anyone to know that. It was entertaining as heck.

Despite Wallace’s best attempts, the president still got some good Trumpisms in. Here are a few of Trump’s funniest moments:

    – Masks aren’t stupid per se, but Joe Biden looks really dumb in his.
    – Trump went on the attack to throw Joe off-balance and boy, did he…
    – When you can’t pack an arena, blame it on COVID!
    – Trump always has double duty: debate the candidate AND the moderator!
    – Not to insult you, but you really shouldn’t use the word smart…

  16. dopey

Wallace was a disgrace. May as well have been Tony Jones.

  17. Just remember – in three Debates against Hillary, the only three words remembered are “you’d be in jail”

Not to insult you, but you really shouldn’t use the word smart…

That’s it, when you back over the debate Trump ripped the corrupt old bastard to shreds. If wallace had not been there joe would be on the anatomical dissecting trolley now.

  19. This is not the first time that metallic thing on Trump’s head has been showing. It’s probably a metal clamp, but given other speculation in this thread about Biden, it could be anything.

  20. OldOzzie

OUCH: Trump ‘starts off by throwing a right hook’ out of the gate at the debate by quoting OBAMA

The presidential debate had barely begun when former President Barack Obama was quoted, and it wasn’t Obama’s VP doing the quoting. President Trump said this in response to a question about the Republicans moving forward with a confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court:

And @realDonaldTrump comes out guns blazing when asked why he nominated Barrett: “Because elections have consequences and we won.”

    — Ned Ryun (@nedryun) September 30, 2020

Trump just quoted Obama out of the gate, ‘Elections have consequences.’ #Debates2020

Not something that Trump could do anything about.

  57. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

Trump (and America) is stuck with Fauci for the time being.
In the early stages of this pandemic he and Trump were working together well.
We can leave it at that. Things have panned out very differently now.
People see that and they can see too that Trump sees that.

Trump needs to push hard on opening up the economy and raising jobs to previous achieved levels under his term. He has a terrific record to sell and a lot of fake news to correct. If he can stop interrupting so much he will do better. Let Joe hang himself.

I am still convinced Joe was reading something, checking on points somewhere.
He sounded on auto pilot some of the time too. Learned his lines etc.

Most, including me, were shocked, again by Trump’s bluntness. He is not a slimy pollie but a plain speaking businessman who has done great things. People are used to conservatives taking shit while the left do what they want. Trump turns that on its head and outshits the left and in doing so gets them to reveal their vile real selves. But because we’re not used to this we miss what Trump is doing and what he did to joe. When you rewatch this you see Trump revealed a lot of the corruption of joe, the demorats and joe’s family. All joe did was lie and show the disaster his policies (sic) would be: no law and order, a stacked SC, no coal or oil or gas. There are so many grabs from this of Trump laying it out and joe spluttering. No other conservative could have done this, they would have been cowered by wallace or been too fucking polite. This was classic Trump; I think/hope the punters got it while the commentariat fluffs and bemoans the lack of decorum.

  60. Just look at Joe’s face.
    He’s fake.
    2020 is all about fake.
    WTF is going on??

  61. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare

  64. He had an earpiece and a brains trust.
Nah, it was something different. An earpiece? Joe getting schwacked by Trump in front of him&babbling in his ear?
No way. Too risky. He’d have a total meltdown.
He was reading that shit, for sure.
    But how?
Watch his eyes when he’s speaking.

  65. Cassie of Sydney

” People are used to conservatives taking shit while the left do what they want.”

Yep..look at Abbott here in Australia. Remember Romney in 2012? Being a pious and dignified man didn’t and doesn’t stop the left, the MSM and the various progressive thugs and stormtroopers from pouring and putting shit on you. This is why I like Trump…..he throws the shit back..he doesn’t turn the other cheek.

I am so sick of the left throwing shit and people on the right just turning the other cheek. It has to stop.

  66. miltonf

Of course he’s a fake TG. ‘Working Class Joe’ my arse. The slimiest of the slimy career politicians but he has principles and if you don’t like them he has others! Most, including me, were shocked, again by Trump’s bluntness.

True. Me too. Maybe that is his strength.

I absolutely loathed him in the few episodes of ‘The Apprentice’ that I saw. No need to be like that to people, I remember thinking. But the show was a hit, people loved to see some twerps taken down, and he didn’t put up with any sort of crap or big-noting. Do the job and do it well. Impress me, was his mantra.

That’s the sort of toughness that successful men and women have when they have to deal with very difficult situations and do well under great pressure. Thatcher was like that too. It’s not always nice but it is effective.

  71. Carpe, yore allowed shots of warm sake.

Cassie turning the other cheek and being polite is just an invitation to be completely bulldozed. You have to hit back twice as hard and show them up for what they are. Of course he would.
The most devastating thing he could do is take three steps sideways and start reading out the text with Biden. It would be hilarious and a total disaster for the Dems and Fox.
No there was no teleprompter. But an earpiece is less dangerous since it requires a physical inspection, and that would be impossible to do without prior agreement. Which Biden refused.

Trump proved once again he doesn’t have the character, or temperament, to be President.

There are no such requirements in the Constitution; you only have to be of the minimum age, born in America and a few other things.

    And win the election.

  103. Arnost

The goal was to reduce Sleepy Joe to a gibbering jelly. And because that didn’t happen Joe will be perceived to have “won”.

Not exactly. While I agree that Joe may be perceived to have won – Trump managed to get a number of contradictory statements out of Biden too! Watch a new swathe of adds “I am the Democratic Party”, The Green New deal, the Biden Deal etc! Stuff that will trigger his left base and maybe supress the vote there!

And Trump studied Biden He now knows what triggers him. [Let’s face it, Biden hasn’t been asked many tough questions recently!] Watch for a laser focused attack next debate! [If there is one]

White House: Border Wall Grows 10 Miles Per Week (29 Sep)

President Donald Trump’s border wall is lengthening by 10 miles per week and is helping agents find more smuggled drugs at the legal entry ports, according to a White House statement.

That’s the sort of toughness that successful men and women have when they have to deal with very difficult situations and do well under great pressure. Thatcher was like that too. It’s not always nice but it is effective.

I didn’t think much of him before The Apprentice and I only watched it because it came on after another favourite and I left the TV going while I packed up for the night. By the time the series was over, I was a fan. Every week I could only wish that the managers I was overseeing at the time would be willing to confront bad behaviour in their teams the way that Trump did. He was blunt, yes, but if you have bad news to deliver to poor performers it is a far better idea to get the message over as strongly and quickly as possible rather than pussyfoot around it like so many highly paid conflict avoiders tend to do.

In a 2019 meeting with 100 super-wealthy potential donors, Biden assured the gathering that he would not demonize the rich and would only increase their taxes slightly while ensuring that their standard of living would not be affected by any of his policies. He also stated: “I’m not Bernie Sanders. I don’t think 500 Billionaires are the reason why we are in trouble”. Further, he unabashedly emphasized that the wealthy are not the reason for income inequality and “If I win this nomination. I won’t let you down. I promise you.”

Trump got Joe to say he didn’t represent the left’s agenda, it was Joe’s agenda. Joe just disowned half his base and all the Bernie supporters.
Trump pushed Joe on law enforcement to the point where Joe had to mouth platitudes about the need for law enforcement, then Trump went in for the kill, how many law enforcement groups have endorsed you Joe, how many/ Duh no answer said it all. Joe is in no man’s land.
Trump’s approach was untidy , he interrupted way too much but at the end of the day Bernie is going to have a big job cleaning up with his own supporters. He will be in heaps of trouble.

Trump was asked about the taxes. Wallace basically shutdown the part when Trump thrashed him about Bunter Hiden.

    That was pretty important.

as if they are selecting actors in some grand drama (see ‘West Wing’) instead of capable workers for a job. A job involving managing groups of people in an increasingly unpredictable world, with proven negotiating skills at all levels, as well as an ability to lead. Probably the most difficult job in the world at this time.

When your character and temperament are as badly damaged as today’s debate showed Trumps are, it puts into question your ability to manage people and negotiate with them, and lead them. People don’t like being bullied, shouted over the top of etc.

But we knew that already – Trump has failed repeatedly at doing these things over the past 4 years. The turnover in his own team is testament to that.

Except right at the end of the broadcast, Melania Trump walks onto the stage (looking as always delightful) and holds hands with Donald.

Wallace asked some curly questions of both speakers. So he was fair and honest. You guys can’t see it because you let your bias fool you.

Bias to what. Joe is a senile, corrupt waste of space; Trump is a dynamic economic restorer and supporter of Western values. Wallace is a mealy mouthed leftie media shit. The complaint that Trump interrupted is wrong; Trump had to speak over wallace running defence for joe. Trump was on a plan and that plan was to energise his base and to expose aspects of biden which the swingers will not have heard from the biden media: such as joe’s corrupt son, joe’s support of antifa, joe’s reluctance to name his SC candidates, his opposition to law and order and his opposition to fossils.

The folks at Mojo Vision showed me prototype contact lenses with an embedded display—the screen was, amazingly, about the size of a dot from an ink pen. They say it’s the “smallest, densest display ever made,” but they didn’t have a version with all the sensors inside yet. I looked through the prototype, and as expected I saw text hovering over the real world. It’s not dissimilar from my experience using augmented reality eyewear like Google Glass or Focals, the smart eyeglasses from North—except Focals projects its interface to the glasses, whereas Mojo Vision’s contacts have the display integrated into the contact lens.

The Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two core truths:

1️⃣ This is an existential crisis requiring immediate, ambitious action.
2️⃣ Our environment and economy are connected.

  218. max

People don’t like being bullied, shouted over the top of etc.

You need to pay closer attention. Trump never gets emotional. You could see today he had a perfectly clear understanding of his situation, knowing the media were out to get him no matter what.
Trump is never reduced to spluttering insults and execration like Joe was at a couple of points today. It’s the same when he talks about N Korea or China or Europe. He’s like a boxer who never lowers his gaze. Joe on the other hand gets all red-faced and flails away blindly when pressed.

  219. classical_hero

Felix, you’re a funny guy. We can have war, corruption and other bad things if we’re civil. 🤣

  220. classical_hero

Anyone complaining about decorum can piss off. After what we’ve seen so far from the left, they have no shred of decency in them and deserve to be destroyed. If they want the courtesy of being treated nicely then they should be treating others nicely. We need to treat them the way they are treating us.

  228. Lazlo

    Antifa is an idea
    – not an organised totalitarian militia, rioting and killing people

    A fantastic Green New Deal
    – except, I don’t support it

Trump has killed all these people
    – not Cuomo moving infected people into retirement homes

I can’t wait for Debate 2 when we get into illegal immigration and foreign policy.

This is why Biden must not win. He would hand over the justice system to the left and it would be fixed in the way Victoria’s courts are fixed and politicised..

Chris Wallace, in one of the few tough questions he posed to Biden, said this:

So my question to you is, you have refused in the past to talk about it, are you willing to tell the American tonight whether or not you will support either ending the filibuster or packing the court?

Biden refused to answer, something the Trump quickly challenged. Here’s the colloquy:

BIDEN: Whatever position I take on that, that’ll become the issue. The issue is the American people should speak. You should go out and vote. You’re voting now. Vote and let your Senators know strongly how you feel.

TRUMP: Are you going to pack the court?

    BIDEN: Vote now.

TRUMP: Are you going to pack the court?

BIDEN: Make sure you, in fact, let people know, your Senators.

TRUMP: He doesn’t want to answer the question.

BIDEN: I’m not going to answer the question.

TRUMP: Why wouldn’t you answer that question? You want to put a lot of new Supreme Court Justices. Radical left.

BIDEN: Will you shut up, man?

TRUMP: Listen, who is on your list, Joe? Who’s on your list?

WALLACE: Gentlemen, I think we’ve ended this-

    BIDEN: This is so un-Presidential.

TRUMP: He’s going to pack the court. He is not going to give a list.
You can see that Biden made a nonsense statement to avoid answering whether he will preserve the filibuster and the Supreme Court’s current system of nine justices. Shamefully, Wallace let him get away with not answering. Wallace surely understands that Biden’s handlers plan to end the filibuster so that they can pack the court and add D.C. and Puerto Rico as states.

Packing the court ends the American experiment as we know it. It means that the Supreme Court will be a political body that will exist solely to put its imprimatur on Democrat policies. And for those who say, “Well, if they pack the Court, then Republicans will pack it more when they’re in power,” that’s sadly foolish.

If Democrats pack the Court, there are no more Republicans. The whole democratic republic will be over. Once Democrats pack the Court, they never again need to persuade American voters to support their policies. One of their first policies in that new era will be to add hard-left Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico as the 51st and 52nd American states. That means four more Democrat Senate votes and a permanent Democrat party majority.

Didn’t Biden say he supported the Green Deal in the Democrat debates?

BIDEN: “That is not my plan. The Green New Deal is not my plan.”

FACT: Joe Biden has embraced the Green New Deal in all but name.

    – Biden’s own climate plan on his website cites the Green New Deal as a “crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face.”
    – The Washington Post: “Joe Biden is embracing the framework of the Green New Deal in his bid for the White House…”
    – Inside Climate News: “In embracing it, he proclaimed his support for the central principles … of the Green New Deal.

33 Times Joe Biden Lied or Made False Statements to the American People in Last Night’s Debate

    Here’s a sample.

BIDEN: “I’m not opposed to the Justice.” (Judge Amy Coney Barrett)

Fact: Biden and Harris have both publicly opposed Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court, despite glowing reviews from the legal community and her colleagues.

Biden put out a statement in opposition to Judge Barrett’s nomination.

“Today, President Trump has nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett as the successor to Justice Ginsburg’s seat. She has a written track record of disagreeing with the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision upholding the Affordable Care Act. She critiqued Chief Justice John Roberts’ majority opinion upholding the law in 2012.”
