To modify an old phrase, often used in the US between the 1950s and 1980s, “He may be a corrupt, senile, decrepit fool, but he is our corrupt, senile, decrepit fool.” Watching the Cheatorats try to act as if Hiden is compos mentis for the next couple of years will be hilarious.

Sure, as soon as you confirm you don’t believe he’s lost that many cases.

What I do or do not believe is irrelevant to the question. Or don’t you know the answer?

  7. Colonel Crispin Berka

I already know – they’re pretty much all run by the trump campaign. Despite Colonels doubts.

Let’s do this the easy way.
I don’t have any way of finding out which are the 25 suits that *you* first raised in this conversation, and if could find them to support my point I would have to check the associations of all 25 plaintiffs and show that all of them were by citizens outside of Trump’s legal team.
You *do* have an easy way to find out which 25 suits *you* were referring to earlier, and to support your point you only have to find 1 of them that was brought by the Trump campaign legal team and was also judged as lost by the plaintiff, and isn’t the 1/25 that was the injunction on counting already explained as mooted.

Absolutely happy to accept that I’ve been misinformed if you can prove that, with reference to a court document, but yes I do still doubt that you are better informed than Viva Frei and Robert Barnes.

Leading up to the election, the voting rules in many states were changed by everyone but State Legislatures.

Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. Nearly every supporter of President Donald Trump thinks otherwise, according to a new CNBC/Change Research poll.

As the president makes unsubstantiated claims about electoral malfeasance and sows doubts about vote tallies, only 3% of Trump voters surveyed said they accept Biden’s victory as legitimate, the survey released Monday found. A staggering 73% of respondents consider Trump the legitimate winner. Another 24% said they are not sure.

A mere 3% of Trump voters believe he should concede to Biden and start the peaceful transfer of power. Another 31% want the president to fight in court until states certify results. Two-thirds, or 66%, think Trump should never concede.

    Yeah, nah.

My position is that the old bastard should slink away and die, but I’m not advocating violence. But this view of just ignoring him is symptomatic of why the conservative side is losing. You don’t ignore these malicious left mongrels. They does not work, it has never worked and it is, as much as anything, the reason why the left has taken over the West; this is gramsci and Dutschke; and the great march has worked because the conservatives have wasted time blathering about being fucking fair, going high and other such bullshit. The basic principle is you don’t tolerate the intolerant, zero tolerance. The old bastard troll puts it’s head up with a lie and you hit it. It’s exasperating but crucial. The left aren’t bothered about inconsistencies but the right are and have lost basically because they give the left what the left never gives the right. And until the right start treating the left like the left treat the right you will lose.

  92. Oh come on

What makes you think that those who managed a massive fraud while out of power will fail to do a bigger one next time?

You really should listen to the latest People’s Pundit Daily episode of What Are The Odds with Robert Barnes. Dover posted it above. Barnes goes into great detail about the myriad ways in which the GOP’s people (and Trump’s people) failed to prevent Dem operatives putting in place the means and mechanisms required to steal the election. Barnes describes a years’ long effort to exploit loopholes or create them in loosely governed jurisdictions, marshal corrupt officials and browbeat state AGs in court into doing their bidding. And the GOP didn’t intervene to stop any of this. This is how the election was stolen. This was the Dem ‘ground game’. It all happened *before* election day. No grand international conspiracy involving Venezuela, Cuba, China etc required.

Biden/Harris, if they do go on to ‘win’, are going to wear their ‘victory’ like a crown of thorns. Even more so when the hard evidence of their electoral theft emerges (Barnes explains how this will happen, too). The public pressure for electoral reform is going to be enormous. It’ll probably be just about the only major piece of legislation the administration will get through congress. And this will prevent 2020 from happening again in 2024. Even if electoral reform doesn’t happen, you’d best believe Trump’s team will be laser-focused on those few key states in case the Dems try a 2020 style do-over in 2024.

I presume you are not talking about the John Lewis version of the Voting Rights Act, but that’s going to be the primary focus of the Biden administration in Congress. Not this other thing you wish would happen.

MAYOR GIULIANI: “IT’S IN EVERYONE’S INTEREST TO HAVE A FULL VETTING OF ELECTION IRREGULARITIES AND FRAUD”

The Donald J. Trump for President Campaign Legal Team today announced that the State Legislatures in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan will hold public hearings on the election beginning tomorrow and next week in an effort to provide confidence that all of the legal votes have been counted and the illegal votes have not been counted in the November 3rd election.

The first hearing, held by the Pennsylvania State Senate, will be conducted tomorrow, Wednesday, November 25th, in Gettysburg, PA, where each participating Senator will give a five-minute opening statement followed by testimony from witnesses who have filed affidavits attesting to 2020 election fraud. Tomorrow’s hearing will also feature a presentation from former New York City Mayor and Personal Attorney to President Trump, Rudy Giuliani.

On Monday, November 30th, the Arizona legislature will hold their own hearing, followed by the Michigan legislature holding their own hearing on Tuesday, December 1st. Details for both hearings to follow.

“It’s in everyone’s interest to have a full vetting of election irregularities and fraud,” said Mayor Giuliani. “And the only way to do this is with public hearings, complete with witnesses, videos, pictures and other evidence of illegalities from the November 3rd election.”

“We are pleased that the State Legislatures in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan will be convening hearings to examine the November 3rd presidential election,” added Trump campaign Senior Legal Advisor and Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump, Jenna Ellis. “There were serious irregularities, we have proof of fraud in a number of states, and it is important for all Americans to have faith in our electoral process. All we have wanted from the outset is to count every legal vote and discount every illegal vote.”

State Legislatures are uniquely qualified and positioned to hold hearings on election irregularities and fraud before electors are chosen. As established in Article 2, Section 1.2 of the United States Constitution, State Legislatures have the sole authority to select their representatives to the Electoral College, providing a critical safeguard against voter fraud and election manipulation.

I’d suggest that the Democrats are now just a tool of the Tech Giants… Google / Twitter / Facebook … and the Amazon’s and Microsofts need the Dems to control legislation so that a Trump / Teddy Roosevelt can’t go anti-trust on them and break them up…

Case in point – YouTube [Google/Alphabet] acted on the request of a Dem legislator to suspend OAAN. There other instances – New York Post and the laptop and WordPress de-platformed the Conservative Treehouse the other day are just some examples. And I bet that Parler and other new conservative channels will face their problems soon enough – all of a sudden, no one will want to host them, or provide security or provide payment collection /advertising services…

Biden – Harris and the Dems won’t be in power, even if they ever assume office. Here’s why. The amount of fraud in this election is obvious and manifest. The only way Biden – Harris wins is if they Deep State – ie the FBI and DOJ look the other way and don’t investigate any claims of fraud. This appears to be exactly what they are doing right now.

So Biden – Harris will be coronated because the Deep State let them be coronated. Let that sink in. Why are Biden and co looking and sounding so nervous? I reckon it is because they know that the Deep State knows that they cheated to win and hence the Deep State will have the power to terminate their leadership whenever they want. Biden – Harris will be getting briefings to find out what their policies will be – the Deep State will tell them because the Deep State is the real master.

This is a coup and if if succeeds a few things will happen. No coup leader ever gives away the power they risked so much to take illegally. The Deep State have gone too far and done too much to just give it away and risk being prosecuted. The immediate post coup priority for every coup leader in the history of mankind is to remove alternative sources of power. The Dems know this, the Deep State knows this.

In combination the Deep State and Dems are on roughly the same side and have an unofficial working arrangement so that the GOP will never hold another national office of importance again. It will never hold the Presidency, Senate or House again.

So now it is down to two groups left who sort of agree on many issues. Stalin and Trotsky agreed on almost everything, their only fundamental disagreement was the key question – who is really in charge. Both Deep State and the Dems have participated in the coup, but only one can be in power. The battle between the Deep State and the Democrats is going to be unreal, and tragic, to watch.

The only hope for America, for political stability and democracy is a Trump win. The only people who can now deliver that outcome is the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court must realise that if they also turn a blind eye to the fraud and effectively enable the coup to succeed, then they are signing there own emasculation warrant and will forever destroy the rule of law and judicial independence in the USA. Having taken power off everyone else, no coup leader is ever going to let some black robed judges wrest power back off them. That’s not how a coup works.

The US is on the verge of becoming a one party state. If Biden “wins” the only question left is who will emerge victoriously from the battle between the Democrats and the Deep State. My money will be on the Deep State. They will have all the evidence they need and all the levers of power to investigate, charge and convict as many Democrats as necessary starting with Joe Biden. The FBI didn’t sit on that laptop for no reason. Unlike with Trump, the Deep State won’t have to create crimes, there are plenty on that laptop full of evidence to start with. And of course the Deep State could always investigate electoral fraud after they get the outcome they want – to oust Trump. What’s the bet that Deep State starts investigating electoral fraud, a nice few months after the inauguration is over just to let the Dems know who is really in charge.

This should be a salient warning to conservative governments everywhere including Australia. The public service has its own interests and they aren’t necessarily the national interest and they rarely coincide with the interests or policy positions of conservatives. Creating a big government creates a very powerful latent alternative source of power that you may not be able to control once it decides to act in its own interest and against the government of the day. You can bet your bottom dollar there are more than a few senior public servants watching events in America and thinking to themselves “why not here? Why not me?”

Mr Morrison, you should immediately start to make government smaller and reduce the powers of some agencies. For a start you might want to curb the dictatorial powers currently granted to various ministers in the event of an”emergency”.

John C, thanks for your excellent post at 11.03am, but your direction to the PM above assumes he believes in small government, which he doesn’t. The bleatings about the need for small government from Abbott and Co were a political lifetime ago.

Morrison now stands for nothing but the perks of power and in-your-face big government, backed with nanny state government advertising on TV every night at peak hour. Check out the Budget: spending heading for $560 billion and debt of $800 billion+ heading for a trillion+, compared with spending of under $200 billion and zero debt the last time we had a government that actually believed in small government.

Morrison has become the gaslighter-in-chief — whatever it takes (just like Sussex Street), including financing the re-election of state Labor governments like Pony Girl’s in October and Sneakers McGowan’s in March next year after elevating them to the status of assistant prime ministers in the laughable “national cabinet”.

It’s not a finding against the substance of the original claim that was made (1000s of votes affected), but because the counting had not been stopped and largely finished it meant the Trump team did not get what they were originally hoping for, so yeah I’ll accept that as a loss. +1

Case in Michigan. Dismissed. Plaintiff = DJT for President Inc.
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/michigan-judge-denies-trump-campaign-ballot-counting-lawsuit

This is the one about the injunction on counting which was no-longer timely which I described earlier so it’s not one of the 15 extra you had to find.

    Enough for you?

Nah, not really. You did find more losses than I expected, so I was wrong in my original claim that you wouldn’t find more than 1 and I now have to go back and listen to Barnes and Frei’s explanation more closely as it is possible I misunderstood their summary, or maybe they were mistaken, I dunno. I forgot they mentioned the dismissal on lack of standing, so it’s probably just my faulty memory for thinking there had been only one, they had discussed at least two.
But you are still 13 more court losses away from proving your original claim that “he’s up to 16 cases dismissed?”

I have since found USA Today’s running scoreboard of cases, updated as recently as Monday 23rd.
    https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/2020/11/16/trump-election-lawsuits-republicans-battleground-states-vote-count/6177538002/
In that list there have only ever been 13 DJT cases cumulative according to USA Today, and I don’t even know if that is a true accounting of the plaintiffs. So it is clear that your claim of 16 has no chance of being true since there’s not even that many cases that have ever been brought by DJT Inc.
Of their 13, most are either pending on first trial or are still being appealed, so cannot chalk those up as a loss at this point.
I count 3 losses by the Trump team in this list, not including cases that have active appeals in a higher court. A long way from your 16 and a hellava long way from m0nty’s far more adventurous “in the 30s” gambit.
(Funny how the truth ends up being somewhere between the extremes.)

On the broader picture of course many of these will head to the SCOTUS on equal protection grounds and the enormous amount of evidence of fraud as basis for disregarding the election result and using Constitutional fallback to legislature to decide the State’s electors. So the minor battles lost along the way may still result in a Trump victory, but I grant you we were not arguing over the broader picture, just the court track record to date.

I am pretty sure there are rules around keeping documents in order to enable verification down the track. As I understand the election ballots etc have to be kept securely for 22 months. If that is the law, then destroying the envelopes is a big deal. It would probably be a criminal offence. But destroying evidence is never prosecuted if it is a Democrat doing it. See Hillary Clinton and all those special prosecutors who wiped all their phones.

Another alternative scenario is Republican majority state legislatures can select Trump electors and order them to cast their votes for Trump.

You are conflating ballots and envelopes. The envelopes are generally not protected, the ballots are.

  184. calli

On conspiracies, it doesn’t take everyone to be in on every facet for it to work. In fact, the best model would be a stack of unwitting “useful idiots” doing their bit, like bees or ants.

Some will do it well, others not so well. If one part isn’t working properly, then it can be dispensed with and another line of attack will take its place. The key is to have the thinking of the observers, that is the general public, conditioned to reject one thing and accept another. This can take the form of demonisation and ridicule for one, adulation for another. Some form of media would be necessary, all singing from the same song sheet, while others could be silenced.

Orwell had a good outline. It hasn’t really dated much, just re-jigged as technology improves. Huxley used addictions as an extra soporific for the masses, and that fits into the model nicely too.

  185. John Comnenus

As I understand it, the external envelope is a key anti fraud measure. If I understand it correctly you fold your ballot and put it in a signed envelope and then put that envelope into another envelope that indicates that it is a ballot being returned.

The signature on the envelope in no way indicates which way you voted, but it contains your signature as the means of verifying that you were entitled to vote and it was you who submitted the ballot. The signed envelope is the principal verification measure for mail in voting. Oh well let’s just destroy those so no one can ever check why Biden did so super unbelievably well in Atlanta and nowhere else in the South. This is corruption, pure and simple. It is ensuring that the ability to verify the eligibility to vote is destroyed.

  186. calli

As I understand it, the signatures are generally on the outside of the envelope, then the ballot is inside which is not signed, so that they can be separated for privacy purposes.

Thank you m0nty. I wondered if the process differed from state to state as many things do in the US.

The signatures, to my mind, would be a stand alone verification document regardless of where they are placed. It stands to reason that liberty is not served by having them on the ballot itself.

Destruction of these documents thwarts any constructive checking of the vote’s authenticity. Is there a history of destroying envelopes, or was this a one off?

  187. Rorschach

It seemed pretty straightforward to me. Righteousness usually is.

The signature on the envelope verifies that what is inside is a legal ballot. Once the envelope is opened and the ballot removed to join the count, there is no need to retain the envelope – in fact the only reason to retain it would be to keep a record of who a citizen voted for, which should be illegal if it’s not.

You aren’t winning this election on do-overs, John C.

  190. John Comnenus

A number of people who worked in the election in Georgia have submitted signed affidavits under penalty of perjury that they saw thousands of pristine mail in ballots arrive where each one went to Biden. By pristine, they meant it had never been folded. You need to fold the ballot, to put it into the signed envelope that you then put into the outer envelope. No wonder they had to shred the signed envelopes. So how do you get thousands of unfolded ballots that can only be legitimate if they are folded and put into a signed envelope? No wonder they are destroying the envelopes.

  191. calli

the only reason to retain it would be to keep a record of who a citizen voted for,

    No.

The reason to retain it would be to marry it up with the register of mail-in ballots that were sent out to make sure you didn’t have double dipping or worse.

If no mail-in came back, the assumption would be that the voter decided to abstain.

  192. John Comnenus

    Monty,

The election signature scanning matching was dialed down for accuracy when reading the signatures in Georgia. It only required a 40% match. The mail in ballot envelope does not say how you voted, just that you were entitled to vote. Why wouldn’t you keep the proof that the ballot was legitimate? It’s like throwing out the electoral role of who voted in Australia, or the stub from the ballot that the AEC people keep when they hand you a ballot. Why have an integrity measure if you can’t look at it?

Alas it is useless pointing out the obvious to an idiot.

  193. John of Mel

there is no need to retain the envelope – in fact the only reason to retain it would be to keep a record of who a citizen voted for, which should be illegal if it’s not.

    Further:

    Georgia
As of November 2020, ballot processing could begin upon receipt. Georgia law included the following provision for processing absentee/mail-in ballots:

“ (B) Upon receipt of each ballot, a registrar or clerk shall write the day and hour of the receipt of the ballot on its envelope. The registrar or clerk shall then compare the identifying information on the oath with the information on file in his or her office, shall compare the signature or mark on the oath with the signature or mark on the absentee elector’s voter registration card or the most recent update to such absentee elector’s voter registration card and application for absentee ballot or a facsimile of said signature or mark taken from said card or application, and shall, if the information and signature appear to be valid and other identifying information appears to be correct, so certify by signing or initialing his or her name below the voter’s oath. Each elector’s name so certified shall be listed by the registrar or clerk on the numbered list of absentee voters prepared for his or her precinct.[2] ”

    See law: GA Code § 21-2-386 (2019)

If the envelope does not comply with the requirements, then it – as per above – be invalid. Note the requirement for date and time… Any envelopes received after 7 pm on day of election are also invalid.

That does it. I will now be cancelling my subscription to The Australian. They just rejected one too many of my comments. Stephen Loosley (ALP) had a column in today’s edition, asserting “the evidence suggests strongly that this US election was free and fair”.

    This was my comment:

So how was it that, in the four cities of the four states he really needed to win, Biden got turnouts of between 90 and 200% thus pushing those states over into comfortable wins for him?

Biden supposedly did so well in those four cities that he outperformed Hilary Clinton in 2016, and also rockstar Obama in 2008. But only in those four cities. In every other similar city (e.g. Cleveland, Ohio) his turnout was in line with historical averages (and less than Clinton’s, and well below Obama’s).

Those four cities were Detroit, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Atlanta. All heavily Democrat, with long, documented histories of election tampering.

Turnout of over 90% in a country where voting is not compulsory? In several counties in Michigan, the turnout was approaching 300%. In Australia, with compulsory voting, we average about 92%. The historical normals, all over America, is in the range of 55-65%.

    Free and fair?

Looking behind the “official” numbers using modelling and estimations of the fraud reveals that Trump did indeed have a landslide win, actually taking two states off the Democrats (Nevada, Virginia), and going very close to a third (Minnesota).

The “official” figures reveal a significant swing towards Trump. He got about ten million (officially) more votes this time than in 2016. The American people very clearly wanted him to be their president. His vote from Latinos and Blacks had increased.

He is absolutely right to contest the results. To not do so would be the most grave injustice ever inflicted on the American people.

‘The signature on the envelope verifies that what is inside is a legal ballot.’

No it doesn’t. It makes the claim that a legal ballot is inside.
The verification occurs once the signature is matched AND it is confirmed that the ballot is being received from an eligible voter (ie registered, a resident in that county, not deceased, is an actual person rather than a “duplicated print run”, and that the ballot inside is correctly completed), all while under the observation of Poll Watchers (scrutineers in our language) from at least both sides.

A central part of much of the litigation pending is precisely about the process of verification (turning them into legal ballots) and whether changing processes without reference to State Legislatures is constitutional (it’s not).

Attempting to “launder” the internal ballot envelope into a legal vote by mixing them into the pile with actual legal votes, or throwing away the outer security envelope to prevent review of “verification”, is of itself evidence of fraud.

They have already been ordered to segregate these ballots from the main count.

If this has not been done, then that is grounds for a tainted vote, in which case:
    * SCOTUS might rule the mail-in votes illegal, and remove them from the count (Trump wins); or
    * Declare the ballot tainted and return the decision to the State Legislature(s) to determine which electors they will send to the Electoral College (Trump wins).

Option 3 is for SCOTUS to choose to ignore the Constitution (refuse to get involved). That would do Trump in, but also lays the groundwork for their own demise. That is the main risk to Trump, which remains in play – the Deep State is depending on this.

Been looking at the Georgia absentee ballot rules [Georgia was not a mass mailout state] and it’s pretty clear that ballots received after polls close will/should not be counted.

Georgia – or Atlanta at least – had that water drip issue that “forced” a 4 hour delay in counting in the evening. I wonder if it also allowed LATE ballots to arrive. If so – then they may be caught in the law. [And given this was Fulton county in Atlanta with the usual 100% votes for Biden ….]

    https://news.yahoo.com/report-burst-pipe-delays-atlanta-011409388.html

A ballot must be received by the county registrar no later than the close of polls on Election Day. Delivery can be either U.S. first class mail or hand delivered by the voter. If mailing, you must affix postage to the ballot envelope. Ballots received after the polls close cannot be counted.
