Further confirmation that with the Left it’s not about principle or truth but the side on which you fight.
Walkleys are an award for lying these days. The Pulitzers too. The recent Pulitzers for the fake 1619 Project and for Wussia! are notorious examples.
If a journo wins a Walkley you can immediately know they are a lying lefty and avoid them and their media outlet.
Both the Walkleys and the Pulitzers have become perfect examples of this:
The Wokeleys is a competition of the inmates of an asylum, by the inmates of the asylum, that they think will impress anyone other than inmates of the asylum.
You hear people say such-and-such won a Wokeley, and you know that is supposed to mean they are good, but you can’t see any evidence that they are.
Getting the case so wrong with the Cardinal, and getting it wrong in exactly the same way people were saying right up until the Supreme Court also said it, means they are celebrating…what?
A flair for stenography? That she was as limited in her understanding as VikPol?
No. The award is for setting up in print another tract (baseless as it turns out) for j’ismists to vent their hatred at the sort of people they see blocking them and their scheme to change Australia into what they want it to be.

One presumes the author thinks the High Court was wrong?
It’s lucky for some people that the judges of the High Court are less prickly about criticism than their Victorian counterparts.
In line with the full integrity of the LEFT, I expect to see the announcement that she will hand back the award tomorrow.
Surely the MSM have not got to the depths of depravity or the hights of arrogancy that they promote an alternate opinion to the high court judges that determined 7/0 that Cardinal Pell was not guilty as charged.
We now have a KGB style journalistica class setting its self up as Judge Jury and executioner. Except when there is a 4 corners programmed for just before an election it will be as executioner Judge and Jury.

Dear Sir/Madam,
This year’s Walkley Book Award is nothing less than laughable. Given to a book that was wrong about nearly everything, certainly about the accused in the trial.
This was a book which blackened the name of a saintly man. Perhaps the committee needs reminding that the High Court was unanimous in its finding for Cardinal Pell. That is 7- Nil. I repeat, 7 – Nil. Let me say that again: 7 – Nil. Does the committee understand the overwhelming nature of that finding and the reflection it cast on the judiciary in Victoria ? Prosecutors, police, judges, journalists, especially the ABC, set out to get an innocent man, just as respectable and right-minded people once did in the Dreyfus affair.
I doubt that the reputations of the committee members and the prestige of the Walkleys could descend any further. Like many people I no longer subscribe to a newspaper and this year’s Walkleys just confirm for me how right I was to let my newspaper subs lapse.

Normally I would but an innocent man was persecuted unfairly, spent fourteen months in prison and had his life destroyed…thanks in large part to the assorted scum that permeate through much of our MSM. And what these Wokeley Awards prove is that they have learnt nothing…such is their hubris and arrogance that they even hold the High Court in contempt….all because they don’t like the HC verdict. This coterie of progressive scum believe that they are judge, jury and executioner.

What Investigation? – Bolt’s simple crime scene re-enactment debunked the whole Vatican funded attack on Pell. Meanwhile the ABC and Walkly judges continue to copy Chinese govt face saving techniques in an attempt to save their rapidly disappearing credibility.

Walkely award is up there but Sydney Peace Prize must be the ultimate.
It’s pretty sad when your [lets be kind and call it a novel] has already been debunked by Andrew Bolt, Andrew Bolt mind you, only to be completely discredited by the high court, 7-0, and yet your mates still give you a participation prize.
Helen Demidenko (aka Darville, Dale) won a literary award for a work that was supposedly factual, and turned out to be fiction. This woman has done the same, though a work apparently arguing against a unanimous decision of The High Court of Australia could hardly be expected to be taken seriously. Literary judges are apparently quite gullible.
Given the 7-0 High Court decision exonerating Pell, these lefties still believe that they know best and continue with their campaign against him. I personally cannot stand Pell who comes across as an arrogant old Catholic priest of that era where whatever the Church directed had to be obeyed. Having said that, I believe the incident in the Cathedral after Sunday Mass was nothing more than a hatchet job on him and the Catholic Church – I’m not a Catholic by the way.
There was a time in Australia (and the Western World) when right was right and wrong was wrong – and most people (other than a few ratbags who’ve always been around) generally accepted the umpire’s decision and we got on with life. Today we seem to divided, where nobody agrees with a decision or ruling and want to challenge everything. This disobedience is everywhere where you want to look these days and it concerns me greatly. My daughter attempts to teach in a State High School that is totally out of control with no discipline – so what chance do we have on things getting back to what they once were.
This is in the long tradition of leftists award thinking …..think Governor Cuomo (the guy who sent COVID cases to nursing homes) getting a prestigious award from Hollywood for leadership! and Barack Obama getting a Nobel peace prize for being Barrack Obama, Four Corners for the Trump Russia probe (didn’t happen).
