If there were a military coup in the United States it would look just like this

I saw this and found it funny. I asked myself, what if it were true? How would you know? “I believe the military is in control”, “Joe Biden is a fake president”.

The one thing I am more sure of than anything else. Joe Biden is not running his administration, and if Kamala Harris took over, she wouldn’t be either.

And then there was this: A Report from a guardsman in Washington on Capitol Hill. There you find this, and while you read the story, ask yourself what are these people doing in Washington right now?

My guard unit was called up last [week] to help secure the Capitol and has been providing security since [January 16]. In 48 hours of on-duty security I have not seen a single protester — only one drunk guy who cussed my 2nd platoon (which raised morale for a good two hours – soldiers like and respect fluent profanity).

Last night I saw probably 2000 riot-prepared soldiers unload from buses and enter the perimeter. This level of military involvement surpasses overreaction, skips past overkill, and pegs “insane.” Whoever ordered this response is completely out of touch with reality.

Twenty thousand is a difficult number to explain. It’s especially strange how it’s a much larger number, relatively, than in 7 A.D. when Varian lost about that many in the Teutoburg forest. But 20,000 troops is three times as many as I deployed to Kuwait with in 2019 for a rotation there, and that seemed huge.

The cost of having these troops in the District of Columbia for one week, including all the movement, food, hotel rooms, and medical probably runs over $100 million. It is just another data point that indicates the people running the country are not living in the same reality as the rest of us.

And now (I wrote my first draft several days ago) there is word that “some National Guard units” will remain in DC through MARCH to “guard the senate.” To guard the Senate? For THREE MONTHS?

And then there was this: Health Sec Says It’s a ‘Long, Long, Long’ Way off from End of Lockdown. Covid is all but gone, but not the lockdown! The story is about Britain, but could just as well have been about the US.

And then to add to the picture there was this to ponder: Your Government is Afraid of You.

The Swamp is terrified of Trump – still. That explains their fixation on eradicating him and his movement. “Trumpism” was not extinguished when Joe Biden raised his right hand to become the 46th president.

Fear grips The Swamp. Here is some evidence: the military occupation of Washington, DC; claims of “insurrection”; Speaker Pelosi’s interference with the military command structure; more baseless claims of dark Russian conspiracies; serious discussion of reeducation camps for Trump supporters; marginalizing and criminalizing all things “Trump” – those are all expressions of fear.

Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and President Biden keep using the word “insurrectionists” to describe the rowdy Trumpsters who raided the Capitol building unlawfully two weeks ago. That is deliberate. It makes all the respectable, career politicians, government drones and DC political operatives appear to be “victims” – draped in the flag and bravely defending the Constitution. It also criminalizes all of their opposition. Not just the protestors who raided the Capitol, but all Trump supporters – across the USA – and those opposed to The Swamp mentality to which we have now returned.

There were more troops in Washington, DC guarding the inauguration of Joe Biden than are in Iraq and Afghanistan, combined. 25,000 National Guardsmen from 13 states, plus more than 2,000 Active Duty military from the Metro DC region. There was also the full panoply of federal and D.C. law enforcement. From Metropolitan Police to the Postal Service. Remember: No one was allowed to go to the Inauguration. The National Mall was closed. Blocks and blocks of downtown DC were shutdown with jersey barriers, 12-foot metal fencing and armed checkpoints. You are supposed to believe this is a “normal” security precaution. You are not supposed to question if the reaction is excessive, heavy-handed or unprecedented.

And if someone were actually trying to launch a military takeover of the American government how would it be different? I would like to put some kind of lighthearted tail to this story – ha, ha, everything will be better come the morning – but somehow I don’t find any of this all that funny. It may just be optics plus my imagination, but how will I know and when will I actually know it?

If there was such a widescreen cheating why didn’t the GOP object?
    Why didn’t they support Trump?
Why is now a 1.3M law suit against Giuliani without support for him from the GOP?
Why did some of them vote for a second impeachment?

So, it would appear that despite the protestations to the contrary that the Dimocrats know that this is not a popular government. They knew this from the election when they had to engineer through fraud the result they wanted (rather than what they could earn).

Because Trump was never a Republican, he was an outsider who hijacked the party and rode it to the Presidency in 2016. Many in the GOP resented that, as it short circuited their own machine. so (to quote HG Wells) ..’slowly and surely… they drew their plans against him”

that presupposes that the union represents most plumbers.

I certainly thought that Trump could win on votes and he did. I also knew the ‘rats would cheat and they did. Your assumption that the GOP would fight for Trump is absurd. The GOP establishment is people like the Bushes who are part of the problem.

  25. gavalanche says:

    Q told us so.
and remember the plan is not just about america
it will bring down the entire cabal – vatican, royal family, hollywood etc

  26. Kneel says:

“Investigations ongoing but many places where it had occurred not allowing a forensic audit .”

This is simple CYA delaying – for Dominion (and others too), the vote is scanned, which is the record that is “kept” and the original paper document is destroyed. Once the original is destroyed, a full forensic audit is impossible and a “re-count” involves printing the image.

Alas, if the machine, for any reason, can’t decide who the vote was for, it goes to “adjudication” – once someone pushes the button for who the vote is for, the original image is deleted and a generated image with the adjudicated result is put in it’s place.
So by delaying and doing so for long enough, the original paper ballots no longer exist.

If, as per an MI machine that was examined, the logs showing what was adjudicated are deleted, all the evidence of any shenanigans is gone for good.

If, as per one televised interview with an election official, they “adjudicated” a large percentage of the votes (IIRC, 106,000 out of 130,000!), the outcome of the election does not need to reflect in any way how people actually voted and no-one can prove what really happened.

I believe R’s are as much into this as D’s – they just didn’t realise that the D’s had the “master key” and could override the locals. This is, IMO, what happened in the Georgia senate run-off. I think the Nov 3 election didn’t involve this because they believed their own “blue wave” theory and just focused in the presidential race.

  27. Nighthawk the Elder says:

The state governors need to admit their mistake and recall their National Guard troops ASAP. Those that chose to keep them there (the RINOs and democrat governors) can pay for the ongoing presence out of their state taxes, since they have chosen to continue to be part of this political charade. Why should the US taxpayer foot the bill because Pelosi wants to create her own Schutzstaffel?

  28. Indolent says:

I asked myself, what if it were true? How would you know? “I believe the military is in control”, “Joe Biden is a fake president”.

I know Joe Biden is a fake president because he would hardly know the day of the week. However, if its the military in charge then they seem to be doing a great job of implementing the left’s agenda.

    Q told us so.

  56. Colonel Crispin Berka says:

they didn’t order themselves back did they?

Sure, but that’s a separate issue, as Trump was basically the only one who would NOT order them back, so all it establishes is what is obvious which is that Trump is not in charge. Yeah, we knew that, because Mike Pence and a QAnon believer and a bunch of wilting Senators together sabotaged the last chance Orange Man had to unsteal the election.

The fact of the redeployment does not settle the main issue raised by the post of whether a junta has been installed by the military. Hypothetically the military may have had its own reasons for redeploying overseas, or the military installed an oligarchy who had their own reasons. Or neither of the above and more likely Joe’s puppetmasters want that gas pipeline to Turkey completed pronto, and the soldiers at the Capitol really are there simply to hold back MAGA rioters and civil-warriors indefinitely, just like it says on the tin.
More broadly would the military sign EOs supporting QWERTYs in the military and cancelling an oil pipeline? Just doesn’t seem likely. Just a couple of obvious tests which Kates never applied.

The other issue the post raises is whether Kates believes Q bull. (The answer appears to be Yes.)

The nine House impeachment managers selected by Speaker Nancy Pelosi are set to deliver the impeachment article to the secretary of the Senate at about 7 p.m., with lead manager Jamie Raskin of Maryland reading it aloud on the floor of the chamber.

Trump is the first American president to have been impeached twice and the first to be tried after leaving office. Delivery of the impeachment article, followed on Tuesday by the swearing in of senators as jurors, formally signals the start of the proceedings, though arguments won’t begin until the week of Feb. 8.

For 18 long months, you have stood up, one by one, and said enough to the politics of the past. You understand that in this election, the greatest risk we can take is to try the same old politics with the same old players and expect a different result. You have shown what history teaches us – that at defining moments like this one, the change we need doesn’t come from Washington. Change comes to Washington. Change happens because the American people demand it – because they rise up and insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new politics for a new time.

  68. Vicki says:

The seemingly overreaction with 20,000 troops is surely a response to the warnings of intel and security analysts that the November election in itself was likely to set the scene for possible insurrection – from either side.

While that did not happen – the “storming” of the Capitol was nothing of the sort – the Dems continue to believe that there are possibly 3% of Trump supporters out there who may be ready for payback.

And they are possibly right. Only time will tell. Trump supporters may simply accept that the election has been stolen. But while so many security analysts believe otherwise, Biden & his swamp will continue to have sleepless nights. Serves them right.

    That’s all Hollywood does.

Trump endeavored to direct more $ to the pockets of middle America through policy and EO’s. His strategy included exposing the rent seekers and tax eaters, the parasites glommed onto the US economy draining it’s resources and subverting the best interests of it’s citizens.

Now Biden will reverse all of that. The swamp is firmly back in charge and will set about destroying all opposition so that another Trump cannot get up ever again.

It’s not hyperbolic at all. An election was stolen and the military has been used to bolster the theft.

There is a great difference between stating that the military of a nation has been made use of for partisan purposes (though still within the bounds of legality), and suggesting or intimating that the same military has played a primary role in the overthrow of a government.

The phrase ‘military coup’ implies that either elements or the whole of the vast U.S. military has rejected civilian direction and initiated and conducted such an overthrow, using force or the threat of force.

Clearly, this has not taken place, and the sheer size and command arrangements of the American military make it extremely unlikely that such a coup would be successful.

While I agree that the recent highly visible use of the National Guard was unnecessary,* it diminishes our credibility when such misrepresentation, as is evident in the premise of this thread, is publicly accessible.

    * If the intelligence was credible, a more appropriate means of dealing with such threats would have involved some direct N.G. presence, with the remainder on standby nearby. Civilian agencies would quietly observe and monitor potential trouble-makers (ideally prior to their arrival in D.C.), and allow the movement of reinforcements to trouble spots.

What are right wing people doing in the US republican party ? Or the Australian Liberal party ?
Their extreme demands for freedom are anathema to most Liberals its about governmet not freedom.
Party policy follows the turnbull doctrine of co operation with the left parties .Labor,Groins Nationals the Naked Bike Riders party etc .
Re education of these miscreants is needed , wonder if Woomera can be reopened ?

Fred, do you mean the internment camp or the rocket range?
The latter could export the ratbags for good.

Kates likes the military. Then he doesn’t. He trusts the President despite all evidence to the contrary. Then he doesn’t. He thinks a bunch of giant lizards is running the US. Or does he?
Should be fun watching as infowars and Giuliani and others go to court to defend cases that will pursue them fir the lies about almost everything. Will Kates give evidence? Will Kates be sued? (Probably not, but it would be fun to see his defence.)

    EllenG,

You are a pissweak and woefully confusing troll.

    So are your socks.

Put down the gin and go make the most of what is left of your Viktoristani summer day.

I am sure you can go Stand With Dan, so long as you wear your muzzle and socially distance…

How come in the US atm being an ancient relic from the hippy era seems to be a desirable characteristic for power? Fauci’s 80 ffs. So is the foul old woman from the congress.

I can’t wait to retire yet these people cling to their jobs as if they stopped wielding power they would die. Very selfish of them as it locks younger people out of good careers and probably better performances. Power must be one hell of a drug.

  84. Crossie says:

Trump is the first American president to have been impeached twice and the first to be tried after leaving office. Delivery of the impeachment article, followed on Tuesday by the swearing in of senators as jurors, formally signals the start of the proceedings, though arguments won’t begin until the week of Feb. 8.

I’m willing to bet that history will record it differently, that his enemies were so corrupt that they had to pull every trick in the book to keep or regain their power. Lefties think they have it all sewn up but the pendulum is about to reach its extreme limit and swing back and when it does they will be seen as the monsters they are.

Not sure what you mean, EllenG. If you mean anything at all when you start rolling your face all over ypur keyboard…

    But please, do elucidate.

At worst, you will only ger your latest sock banned…

the cash spigots to islamic terrorism will re-open soon if they keep pissing off the house of saud

Obama’s position was generally favourable to Iran, and if they go back to the same we can expect some Saudi pushback. I expect the Saudis would send a strongly worded letter, or something along those lines.

Keep in mind officially no one knows who supported ISIS … complete mystery!

  87. Helen says:

At first blush it seems Xiden’s controllers are winding back everything they can of Trump. to make as though he never was.

BUT there are some kickass Attorneys General like Paxton from Texas who is standing up to Xiden CCP regime, AND there are a whole lot of Tea Party like Trumpers out there who will not go quietly into the night.

It is really an exciting thing to be alive and witness a population refusing to sell out their country. Would we had such courage and motivation in our country.
