Teena McQueen meets Jordan Peterson

The one spokesperson from the Libs who I find myself listening to most closely when I see her on the tele is the Liberal Party’s federal vice-president, Teena McQueen. Balanced and sensible and most impressively calm in what she says and goes about doing. I love her name as well. And there she was in today’s Age with this the headline: ‘I would kill to be sexually harassed at the moment’: Liberal Teena McQueen stuns colleagues in closed door meeting.

The Liberal Party’s federal vice-president, Teena McQueen, said “I would kill to be sexually harassed at the moment” according to three senior Liberal women who joined her at a meeting to discuss the NSW branch’s new code of conduct.

And Ms McQueen, who says she did not make this exact comment, has apologised for an attempt at humour about herself.

Ms McQueen said she “made a throwaway line, that ‘when women reach my age, we don’t have to worry about being sexually assaulted’,” during the meeting.

I see the joke but worry about not one, not two, but THREE senior Liberal women who reported this remark to the Fairfax Press. What a sorry bunch of twits seem to be advising Ms McQueen. The story continues:

The executive voted later that evening to adopt a new code of conduct that makes clear the party has zero tolerance for bullying, sexual harassment, vilification, physical violence and discrimination.

Of course it does, as it always did and always will. We really do live in an Age of Stupidity! And let me provide a piece of advice from Jordan Peterson from his astonishingly excellent Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life.

In our culture, we live as if we are going to die at thirty. But we do not. We live a very long time, but it is also over in a flash, and it should be that you have accomplished what human beings accomplish when they live a full life, and marriage and children and grandchildren and all the trouble and heartbreak that accompanies all of that is far more than half a life. Miss it at your great peril. [p. 283]

It is annoying to find the media and the left [I know, the same thing] fixating on fixing what no Parliament can repair – boy-girl relations in the age of of online porn and Sex and the City:

Criticism has been expressed about the influence the show has on adolescents and how the images displayed on the show affect the way women and young girls view themselves.

Tanya Gold of The Daily Telegraph stated, “Sex and the City is to feminism what sugar is to dental care. The first clue is in the opening credits of the television show. Carrie is standing in a New York street in a ballet skirt, the sort that toddlers wear. She is dressed, unmistakably, as a child. And, because she is sex columnist on a newspaper, a bus wearing a huge photo of her in a tiny dress trundles past. ‘Carrie Bradshaw knows good sex,’ says the bus. And there, before any dialogue hits your ears, you have the two woeful female archetypes that Sex and the City loves—woman as sex object and woman as child … In another [episode], Carrie realizes she is homeless because she has spent $40,000 on shoes and does not have a deposit for an apartment. (In this crisis, she cries and borrows the money for the deposit—what child would do anything else?).

My advice, for what it’s worth to anyone under thirty, is that they should read Jordan Peterson and straighten out their own lives by themselves. If you are taking your cues from Carrie Bradshaw you will find yourself adrift with almost no way home after that.

She made a lighthearted comment to make people ease up and relax and have a laugh. That is a nice quality in a person, to try and be friendly and jest a little.
But the LNP ladies are treating it as a sin.
It makes you wonder about the demeanour and personalities of those ladies though in the LNP that they cannot see a lighthearted comment, a joke – but must dob someone in.

I think they are just mean people. Not team players, but disloyal and a bit on the nasty side.

Apparently S&C is written by men who identify as homosexual. So it presents their point of view and no woman should use it as a guide to femininity.

  3. Cassie of Sydney says:

“And Ms McQueen, who says she did not make this exact comment, has apologised for an attempt at humour about herself.”

McQueen should not have apologised. As Donald Trump says…never ever apologise.

Consider the possibility that the leak came from someone else who was smart enough to come up with a cover story.

Teena McQueen’s comment was modified to a different comment, therefore dishonesty was already in play here and what’s the probability three different sources all went to the same newspaper with the same modified comment? Zero or at least a number small enough to be the interest rate on an Australian bank account.

Episodes. The concept was dreamt up by a 60 year old woman not yet looking to settle down.

Looks that way … anyone the media hates must be good to go.

It’s really got to that stage where presumption of duplicity is reasonable.

  11. Dave in Marybrook says:

JP ticking away on YouTube today, I heard an interesting fact of female-to-female violence- whereas men would resort to physical confrontation, women use rumour, gossip and innuendo to destroy their enemies.
This is after reading the ridiculous feature, by herself and her husband, of Kate Ellis’ awful treatment, in the Oz “Life and Times”. The most facile and self-agrandising was her hubby’s informing us in detail of the “vajazzle” rumours which Ellis copped, to whit that she was totes a slut, but an exotically hot one if you hadn’t noticed.
Infantile, and I mean that rhetorically, not literally. Claiming the mantle of victimhood, with benefits, if you like. Of a kinky tidbit- touched on not once but four times, including the headline, by hubby, in barely two hundred words. It is both gossip, and innuendo, and it is being trafficked by the “victims”, with no-one of enough self-awareness- or cultural awareness- to realise that it has always happened and it always will- and it is done by women to injure their fellow women, be they young or old, hot or homely, superior or subordinate, left or right.

  12. Davey Boy says:

Inspired by Teena’s joke, here is some paraphrasing:
    “Cock-a-doodle-do” said the rooster
    “Any-cock’l-do” said the aging hen
    “Cock-a-doodle-don’t” said the chicken hawk

  13. egg_ says:

After the vilification and subsequent demotion that Christian Porter has suffered, this woman is obviously an insensitive buffoon.

  15. tombell says:

Liberal women ….. there’s the problem. (Any better then Liberal men? Probably not.) Best Ms McQueen (who sounds like a good sort) find a new mount.

  16. Viva says:

Well my husband for one thinks Teena comes across as pretty sexy whenever she appears on Sky. Part of that is a hint of naughtiness and a sense of humour. She dresses to good effect.

Those other women are just jealous.

  17. Maniac says:

Viva’s right. Teena is obviously sex-positive and her female critics are of the warm-and-fuzzy Dworkin/Sarkeesian variety. Teena was just being honest.

  18. Tintarella di Luna says:

    They were not ladies.

It is the NSW Liberal Party were most probably ladies.

Not sure what the pc term de jour is: Women that are unnaturally good at sport ; women that were burdened with being born male ; men with the love that dare not shut the f up.

  22. Entropy says:

I see the joke but worry about not one, not two, but THREE senior Liberal women who reported this remark to the Fairfax Press.

That they leaked and spoke to Fairfax says it all. Also helpful The Age listed all those present at the meeting so their electorates get to work out who are the leakers and thus who not to vote for.

  23. min says:

As I live in a community of older people ,demographically more unpartnered women than men , now alone also , I was thinking of making an announcement at drinks at 5 that I am still happy to receive compliments . How pleasurable it is to be told that you look good in what you are wearing or such like compliment by your neighbours both men and women and the men should not be concerned about the present day rubbish making out that men are all sexual predators.
Teena Mc Queen is a smart woman whose opinions and repartee I enjoy on Sky News
I have never watched Sex and the City however my current complaint is MAFS that I only see in bits and pieces . Those psychologists should be deregistered and I hope watchers do not think the contestants are real people . But agree that if young teenagers are watching porn as much the research shows , how would youngsters have any understanding of sexual relationships other than self gratification ,
I went to hear Jordan Peterson when he was in Melbourne where as in other cities he filled convention centres holding huge audiences . I reckon I was the oldest there and afterwards spoke with some of the mainly young men who attended to ask what they thought “ He gives us hope “ was their answer .
I had already given 18 yr old grandson his book and who has now become a fan. We have an in common point of interest , not just Dusty Martin, and grandson will be getting book 2 for birthday in April . Granny also gave him to much mirth at Christmas Mark Manson’s The subtle art of not giving a F##ck . I can highly recommend the discussion held by Jordan and Mark on YouTube including why their books have been so well received be young people . Book sales are huge.
Hopefully young women are now reading their advice and putting it into practice . Perhaps older politicians would be wise to to take heed of what Jordan and Mark advise.

  27. Diogenes says:

whereas men would resort to physical confrontation, women use rumour, gossip and innuendo to destroy their enemies.

There is a dispute that has been going on between 2 of our current year 10 girls since they were in grade 3 at Primary. They may have got over it by now, but mums got involved & there is an even split amongst the rest of girls in terms of supporters. Both girls have been suspended several times for violence towards the other.

It has escalated to AVOs , Enclosed Lands Orders(ie both mothers are banned from being on school grounds), anonymous phonecalls that have resulted in police raids looking for drugs, weapons, stolen goods etc etc, police attendance required for “I hear man yelling and a young girl screaming” type calls. Rumours spread about the sexual activity of the girls, their parents and younger siblings.

  28. Spurgeon Monkfish III says:

Teena McQueen strikes me as one of few remaining sane and sensible people in the gliberal party. She’s feisty and funny and an unrepentant and strident opponent of quotas for women MPs – citing the bleeding obvious fact that quotas are antithetical to the concept of merit and pointing out the appalling z-grade screechy feminayzee mediocrities that have been dumped into the legislature by labore and the greenfilth (and in several notorious cases, feminayzee imbeciles that have been repeatedly rejected by the electorate).

Vile harridans like Hyphen-Dung, Barbie Waters, Wendy Pong, Blabbersack and that grating yank slag. Not to mention all the useless female duds among the gliberals.

  29. Wyndham Dix says:

Self-styled paragons of virtue took umbrage at Ms McQueen’s remarks. Her irony ought to have been obvious to anyone possessed of a modicum of common sense.
The paragons then dobbed her in to the press. Takes me back to days in the school-yard 75 years ago when an aggrieved child in the heat of the moment would say “I’m going to tell on you!”
Children in adults’ bodies. I muse that their vaunted self-righteousness might wilt under close scrutiny.

  30. Diogenes says:

If you are taking your cues from Carrie Bradshaw you will find yourself adrift with almost no way home after that.

If you are under 30, you will have never have heard about Carrie Bradshaw or Sex in the City.

However, if you are in year 7 or 8 you know who Cardi B is, and if a female can belt out out the words to Wet Ass P**sy . You can also get the boys in trouble for calling you whore, p**sy or use the shorter equivalent that starts with c and rhymes with punt, as in “come here c**t” or “bring that p**sy over here”, or when the boys talk about wanting to do to them what the song says.

  31. NuThink says:

So what happened to the cry of the feminists “My body, my choice“?
Why are they getting upset at Teena for speaking out about her choice for her body?.
Surely that is Teena’s choice what she wants for her body.
I did NOT see anywhere where she was trying to impose her will on the others, which they in contrast appear to be doing.

To be honest, Tony Robbins gives better advice precisely because he is , AFAIK, unqualified.

  34. Candy says:

Since the dubbers are not unsmart and knew Ms McQueen was making a joke to enliven proceedings, I think it’s an attack by a dobber to get Ms McQueen’s VP job by damaging her reputation. One of those nasty political sly stabbing in the back things going on and the LNP are quite good at it these days.

  35. PB says:

“However, if you are in year 7 or 8 you know who Cardi B is, and if a female can belt out out the words to Wet Ass P**sy .”

But….she be like a proud person-of-colour who be like all oppressed ‘n sheeit, so nothing she says or does can ever be wrong or subject to challenge.

Not a huge JP fanboy, but i did read his book and found one little nugget I hadnt considered which will be useful bringing up my own kid.

JP is writing for the legions of kids who will be brought up by single mums/soysbands (similar to husbands but with very smooth, unblemished hands) who will then be marinated in 12+ years of feminised teaching and cock shaming.

They wont hear that “obvious” stuff.
They wont even know its out there unless they find it in bits and pieces as they go along.
Its not written for those who had decent dads etc, its the rest.

Dad got to sit as a juror on a case where a dispute between girls turned into the father of one of them going on trial as a child mol-ster.
All encouraged by the mother of the other girl.
The jury took about 15 seconds to decide but stayed in the rooms for 10 minutes to make it look like they had to give it some thought.

Poor bloke was 2 years of being branded , paid out huge money to defend himself etc.
The girl/mother who did it walked away scott free.

    McQueen should not have apologised

Agreed, as Disraeli said “never complain, never explain”.

“Never explain — your friends do not need it, and your enemies will not believe you anyway.” –Elbert Hubbard

  43. Leo says:

Teena McQueen is a breath of fresh air in the otherwise Liberal Ladies Luncheon Club. The “ladies” criticising Teena are more than typical of those that inhabit what is called the Victorian Liberal Party.

The Ladies Luncheon Club – The Liberal Party – A Cold Eyes View

The Liberal Party is juicy fruited. There are now very few members who have a classical liberal understanding let alone a conservative bone in their body.

Time to tear it up and start over.

Possibly reliable numbers have it that the Libs have 13,000 members, unfortunately only about 1500 are in the cohort under 45 years of age or are advisors.

This then is how you get the current politicians and membership profile. The profile arises when all the guys who cant play sport, drive cars fast, lifesave or firefight or to put it politely, have never had a punch in the face realise they are the leftovers, the nerds or just plain specimens of the race.

These guys then join what is open to them, the debating society or the Liberal club, oftimes both. Clubs of loners who get their principles from books, not experience. They contemplate the Labor club but find it too rough for them.

The corollary is that girls also join the Liberal club. They are looking for a good bread winner and suitable mate and for similar reasons don’t join Labor because the members are too strident, too feminist, too gay, or are not nice and done don’t do pretty.

However the guys, in their bewilderment at their good luck of such a prize, (a girl) then tend to dilute and water down the book learned principles of classic liberalism to fit in with their lucky catch, her friends and social circles that over time progresses to become the sentimental reasoning now so evident in the Liberal party.

In time, the girls either trade the guys in for a house or two or the men just die off. That leaves the women with twenty five years of chatting with others of a like mind and looking for nice young men as candidates with similar sentimental views.

No wonder the Liberal party is stuffed it is run by the ladies luncheon committee.

Hey I was trained by the recognised fathers of CBT Albert Ellis and Aaron ( Tem) Beck
This therapy is based on the Stoic philosophers . Jordan Peterson is a Jungian and evolutionary psychologist . He has sold 40 million books ,that appeal to young lost men and yes messages are the same just a different approach. Manson is not a psychologist however his approach is more CBT and sold 30 million .
During his life Ellis spoke to audiences around the world, sold cassettes and videos of his methods . I just see Peterson filling the gap .

  45. RJH says:

I see that Trent Zimmerman & the other “modern liberals” who have been so vocal in advocating for their party to have female quotas & more women in parliament still haven’t taken up Tina’s kind offer on Sky News for them to resign and offer Tina their seat?
I love Tina’s quirky SOH & straightforwardness, I also know she has the mental capacity to run circles around these useless imposters/time servers who’ve never achieved anything other than for themselves in their own miserable little lives.

  46. Rafiki says:

Thanks Leo. A good contribution to any analysis of why the Liberal Party has hollowed out.

You understate the critical significance of learning principles from books. The way the schools have denigrated principles such as free speech and communication has infected the minds of the under 45s and many older voters. Right of centre people should be banging on constantly about the need to challenge our educators. I find Latham attractive for this reason.

Of course, practical experience is critical too. I suspect Morrison lacks an understanding of how men and women relate sexually, and consequently just cannot comprehend what happens in real life.

I thought that Malcom Turnbull and Malcom Fraiser would both have better served in the Labor party. Similarly, I wonder how many feminist karens are larping in the LNP. Julie Bishop anyone?
Feminist before LNP member, especially when it can be used as a weapon to clear organization slots above to open up promotion, and as a lever for karens to police behaviour.

  50. BalancedObservation2 says:

The two Malcolms would have been better simply counting their money and not burdening us with their policies.

they should read Jordan Peterson and straighten out their own lives by themselves.
    .
I bought “12 Rules for Life” and set about reading it.
    .
I pulled up when I read “we all have twice as many female ancestors as male”.
    .
“All” is an unambiguous English word meaning every one of us, and I call “BS” on that basis. I give him mathematical leeway on “twice”, mathematically maybe 1.5-2.5, and have read a number of article arguing that most of us have more female ancestors than male and understand the reasoning, but do not accept even the 1.5-2.5 range for ALL of us.
    .
Then I read “Dogs are predators. So are cats. They kill things and eat them. It’s not
pretty. But we’ll take them as pets and care for them, and give them their
medication when they’re sick, regardless. Why? They’re predators, but it’s
just their nature. They do not bear responsibility for it. They’re hungry,
    not evil.”
    .
I again call BS; neither cats nor dogs kill only if hungry; surely we all know that – how many birds are killed by cats “for fun”? Recently I rescued a dog with a bung leg from 3 other dogs who were seemingly killing him – were they going to eat him? Were the 13,000 or so Australians who present at Emergency each year because of dog attacks viewed by the dog as food?
    .
Their attacks and killings may be intuitive rather than because they are “evil”, but I’d contest that and say acting on their their instinct makes them “evil”. But because “they’re hungry”? BS.
    .
    I stopped reading.

  54. John A says:

The executive voted later that evening to adopt a new code of conduct that makes clear the party has zero-tolerance for bullying, sexual harassment, vilification, physical violence and discrimination.

This is how the wokerati (who have already infiltrated an organization) set about conquering its value system. Because a code of conduct is infinitely flexible, it can be used to overrule detailed employment contracts (hello, Dr Peter Ridd) and motherhood-style mission statements alike. The wokerati proceed from their safe staff positions to impose new definitions upon recalcitrants (ie. conservatives) and eventually shut them up or drive them out of the organisation.

    Oh, m0ntifa, don’t ever change.

It is not possible for what happened to JBP to happen to his audience as a result of “taking cues” from him because JBP was prescribed the benzos by his doctor without being aware of the rare complication of akathisia which can arise from the interaction between benzos and the SSRI he was already taking, whereas JBP has not prescribed nor instructed his audience to take any benzodiazepines.
