“Victoria Police understands how challenging it is to come forward and report a sexual offence. It may take days, months or years after the incident has occurred. Our message to victims is that you will be listened to.”

    As they should be.

And some considerable progress from “we believe you” as far as rule of law is concerned.

  2. Bruce of Newcastle says:

The war between the sexes has totally overcome wet liberals. Since this has been going on for some millions of years you’d have to say they aren’t especially bright.

  3. FlyingPigs says:

The Liberal Party of Australia are now full on Social Democrats with no connection to some notion of Conservatism at all.

  4. Shy Ted says:

So you won’t be charged but you will go on the list.

  5. JohnJJJ says:

Data shows most sexual assaults are not reported to police and conviction rates are even lower

Interesting to see how they validate this data.

  6. Peter Howell says:

Just another bunch of numbnuts who are trying to lose another election by pissing on their supporters!

  7. Shane says:

I am assuming there will have to be some sort of ideological filter in place to protect the innocent because perish the thought that some innocent left wing angelic politician like say Shorten, might be targeted by some crazed, ideologically unsound frightbat female.
Lets not go into any same sex indiscretions.
The Liberal party in Victoria are doing their best to shoot themselves in the foot yet again.
There must be something in the water.

  8. Cassie of Sydney says:

“The Liberal party in Victoria are doing their best to shoot themselves in the foot yet again.”

    They’re masters of it.

  9. H B Bear says:

Let’s just pick men at random?

  10. H B Bear says:

    No bears, of course.

  11. FlyingPigs says:

How can there be a ‘sexual assault’ when we all know that “sex” is merely a construct?

  12. Albatross says:

We have an Opposition party here? Huh!

  13. Entropy says:

Let me tell you what an anonymous friend told me that Shadow Police Minister David Southwick did to him!

  14. FlyingPigs says:

The photographs at that abcess article are a sexual assault.

  15. Entropy says:

    Wikipedia, so grain of salt:

In November 2012, it was revealed that Southwick had misleading personal information on his website. He claimed to have been an ‘Adjunct Professor’ at RMIT, and that he had a graduate diploma in marketing from Monash University, despite being several units short. Both universities stated that Southwick had never obtained the qualifications referred to. The information was subsequently removed from his website.[3][4][5] Southwick responded to the claims by saying that ‘Adjunct Professor’ was a title used to refer to him while undertaking teaching overseas on behalf of the RMIT Graduate School of Business in Hong Kong, when he was an Adjunct Lecturer.[6]

As soon as people know they can report anything to the police anonymously it’s on for young and old.

  17. As soon as people know they can report anything to the police anonymously it’s on for young and old.

All on-air talent at Sky News would be reported four thousand times each in the first week, by sleeping giants disciples.

  18. Vagabond says:

This futile virtue signalling gesture is of no consequence as the libs will never be elected to government in Vic for years if at all. They are completely unelectable even if they get rid of their pathetic “leader”.

what’s the difference between ‘libs’, ‘labs’ and greens?

Anonymous denunciation as a “therapeutic tool”???

what’s the difference between ‘libs’, ‘labs’ and greens?

Labs are totally unscupulous liars and criminals, driven by hatred and envy, who would sell their collective grandmothers’ false teeth to stay in power, libs are just plain stupid to an unbelievable degree and greens are insane.

    Take your pick.

  23. duncanm says:

You people need to learn to use their weapons against them.

I heard David Southwick is a predator. I can find half a dozen anonymous sources who’ll report similar things (*)

    * NADT

  24. duncanm says:

    .. and as usual..

Mr Southwick launched the policy with Shadow Minister for Women Emma Kealy and Brighton MP James Newbury at Dendy Park, where a 15-year-old girl was raped in recent weeks.

but wait. Was it really just slack policing?

Last month a father called police to report a gathering in Dendy Park was getting out of control and claimed they did not show up and hours later a girl was raped.

“He called three hours before the incident occurred to say he was so worried about what he was seeing he thought something could occur,”

  25. Tony Taylor says:

It’s only a short step from “anonymous reporting” to “denouncing”.

  26. Quibbler says:

As someone who works in an industry where we receive reports, sometimes by people who choose to remain anonymous, I can safely say that malicious reporting is very much a thing. This new system being proposed is inherently dangerous and will be used as a weapon.

  27. Lee says:

Anonymity: the shield of the coward and the malicious.

  28. Rex Anger says:

It’s only a short step from “anonymous reporting” to “denouncing”.

    I thought that’s what ‘anonymous reporting’ was</strong.

    And Quibbler effectively confirms it.

Always assume the worst and most extreme interpretation of anything a leftwit does. It's how they think about the rest of us, though we are justified in thinking so. They are not…

The Vic LibNats have found a way to lose even more seats in 2022! I guess losing Hawthorn wasn’t enough last time, which safe seats do they want to lose next?

  30. Mak Siccar says:

P1ssweak spineless Liberals at it again, basically endorsing Chairman Dan’s socialist agenda.

A new report from the Victorian Parliament’s Legal and Social Issues Committee’s inquiry into anti-vilification laws has been released. It has a range of recommendations that, if made into law, will weaponise the authoritarian Karens. No longer will they just want to speak to your manager, they will take you to court.

Ominously, neither of the two Liberal Party members on the committee argued against the recommendations in a minority report. And now the Government is trying to sell it to the Victorian public with talk about banning the display of swastikas.

(On this point, swastikas are not banned in Israel. They take the approach that anyone who is ugly and stupid enough to identify which such symbols of hate should be allowed to expose their true nature for everyone to see.)

But the swastika issue is only one dot point in the report. ….

They must be drinking the compulsory allocation from the Wonthaggi desalination plant. Who knows what the filtration system adds to the feedstock.
